Batemans Mill Hotel & Restaurant  

Quiet location, just a short drive from the town centre (Chesterfield) and with easy access to the Peak District national park. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The en-suite bathroom, likewise. The full Derbyshire breakfast was amongst the most substantial meals I have encountered and would suffice to fortify even the most demanding hiker for a morning on the Peaks. The staff were all welcoming, cordial and attentive. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Excellent Food, lovely little bar too.

This was our first stay at bateman's Mill and i can say we had a fantastic time.The staff were very friendly and the hotel itself was very nice.We had a fabulous dinner on the evening and our breakfast was fab too.We would stay there again if we are in the area.

The only negative point i have is that when we arrived we were told that the boiler was not working and an engineer was on his way.So we had no heating or hot water until later that evening.Being warm was not a problem we snuggled up in the duvet but my husband had just got off a 20 hour flight and was unable to shower.But the water was back on by the following morning.

Friendly and helpful staff. Good food cooked and presented well in ample portions. Hotel clean and well kept

The water pressure was very poor and hence the water just trickled out of the shower. The heating was not on in the bedroom when we arrived [ it was December ] and so the temperature in the bedroom was cool ! We did have an electric heater in the room which we switched on to warm it up.

The Hotel / Pub / Rest is a nice place to stay, excellent staff, excellent Chef [Tom] would recommend & stay again

The tv looks like it’s had its day pretty old [haven’t seen one like this in a hotel for some years] and a free view is attached, so if someone touches the remote and you don’t get back to av, you could be looking for your channels for ages... The shower wasn’t the best ever, but that Bath Tub makes up for this. Do remember to lock your room when you leave it’s not a self lock on shutting like most hotels, you could leave without knowing that you have left the room open. the Wifi didnt work in my room, something about the stone walls !

Wi fi didnt work in room 3 - I think there should be a galss glass in the bathroom not a plastic beaker - small things - good stay thanks. PS Food portions (breakfast and dinner) very large - great for us (they were so large we left food) but not your margins!

We just had a wonderful four night stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was fabulous although, be warned, the portions are huge. Our very nice ground floor room was large, clean and comfortable with a king size bed with a big en suite bathroom which, unusually, had plenty of room for toiletries. We will definitely be paying Bateman's Mill another visit.

Rooms very clean and comfortable,bathroom great,The staff were all welcoming and helpful,in fact we were greatly impressed and would definately recommend you to everyone,The Restaurant and Bar were an added bonus, food superb,again staff lovely,Keep up the good work! the building and its location are lovely.the staff are very friendly and helpful and the room was clean ,spacious and comfortable.The breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. we enjoyed our stay very much.This hotel is suitable for all,we chose this hotel to visit matlock illuminations but we could have socialised in the bar all evening and feltvery comfortable and welcomed.

I think the family room was lovely but it could do with another comfy chair.

Nice, spacious rooms - very clean and warm. Batemans Mill is very nicely decorated and the restaurant/bar area is warm and relaxing. Food is very good. Location is beautiful. Would definitely stay there again.
