Nestling among cedars, fountains and ponds the hotel offers all the amenities that guests would expect of a 5 star hotel The 'Spa' at The Bath Spa offers the latest in health and beauty facilities.

The elegant Georgian façade of The Bath Spa Hotel can only hint at the warmth, style, comfort and attentive service you will receive during your stay. The bedrooms are elegantly decorated, the bathrooms are luxuriously appointed in mahogany and marble. Guests are entitled to complimentary use of The Spa, our Health and Fitness Club. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, outdoor hydrotherapy pool, thermal suite, gymnasium, beauty treatment rooms and a relaxation room. Close to the Roman Baths, Pump Room and the new Thermae Bath Spa, it is far enough from the bustle of the city to be a perfect retreat. We recommend that any Health & Beauty treatments are booked prior to arrival to avoid disappointment. Children under the age of 16 may only use the swimming pool in The Spa - other facilities are not available for their use.

Food & beverage

The elegant Vellore Restaurant in the formal ballroom of the original house serves an a la carte menu with classically inspired dishes presented in a modern manner. Head Chef Andrew Hamer uses fresh locally farmed ingredients to produce dishes from around the world. (Non smoking) The Alfresco Restaurant is situated in the stunning muralled colonnade overlooking the beautiful gardens and fountain, serving eclectic style dishes in an informal and relaxed atmostphere. (non smoking)

All guest bedrooms are non-smoking.

Important information

All spa treatments need to be booked prior to arrival to ensure availability. Please contact the hotel direct, using the contact information provided on your booking confirmation email.

Children can use the swimming pool between 09:00 and 18:00, if accompanied by an adult. They cannot use the other spa facilities.

Hotel residents may use the spa from 12:00 (noon) on the day of arrival until 11:00 (check-out) on the day of departure. Should you wish to extend your use of the spa, a day pass can be purchased at a reduced rate.

Gentlemen are required to wear jackets in the Vellore at the weekends.

PETS:
one dog is allowed upon request and it's 25 GBP per night.

The hotel has nice grounds and is located a short walk from the town. The staff were pleasant and it has a relaxing bar.

This hotel's rooms are a bit tired for it's 5* rating. It was also not possible to eat in the spa necessitating getting dressed to go into the hotel lounge to eat which was inconvenient.

Spa facilities were excellent

Teh restaurant was a little disappointing from the perspectives of food quality and service. I would not normally expect wine to be spilt, nor the glass to be 3/4ers filled!

Staff were excellent and judging by the comments in the visitor book this is refreshingly consistent.

Only very minor complaint might be that the bed felt a little tired and dipped in the middle.

The luxurious feel and helpful, friendly staff.

There was a strange smell around the swimming pool (sweaty feet). I don't know if this was just that day, or if it's an ongoing problem.

Gym and pool facilities good; lovely foyer and public lounge; most of the evening meal was good

poor service during the (saturday) evening meal - none of the restaurant staff seemed well trained up; excessively high prices for wine
