Macdonald Bath Spa Hotel    

El hotel está bien ubicado, es confortable y el spa está bastante bien.

Quizás le faltaba algo de personalidad más allá de ser un hotel de lujo. Veníamos de Castle Combe donde nos alojamos en el hotel The Manor House que era espectacular y con muchísimo encanto.

Beautiful and impressive building and grounds. The lobby was stunning and the restaurants were impeccable. Service was amazing! Location couldn't be beat, walking distance to town through a beautiful park.

Our room on the third floor didn't live up to the grand lobby. The room was dated and grim with a depressing decor. Our friends on the garden level had a much nicer room. Bathrooms was nice however.

The setting is wonderful. All the staff were excellent. The food was good. The sun was shining! The location (Bath) par excellence.

My friend and I could not find anything to dislike.

The staff were fantastic - we felt they really cared and were attentive whilst remaining friendly and relaxed. I came back here after a previous stay a the spa facilities were so good. Also a fantastic breakfast buffet in the ballroom.........

Virtually everything! I got the best massage I have ever received from Sammy. Staff were very helpful and overall felt very welcome. Excellent.

Just a small thing in the restaurant. No steak knife was provided when we ordered steaks. The steak contained too much fat.

The staff, food and setting of hotel all excellent, easy walk into city centre.

Issue with being charged for Spa treatment whiche we had not had, got sorted but it took nearly 30mins(Duty Manager in "meeting" that was too important for hotel guests)) and we were looking to leave the hotel.

Love the decore, the staff are wonderful, and the gardens are beautiful. I am a huge fan of the scones with clotted cream with jam, had them every day!

The hotel was well sited. Impression was of luxury with attention to detail. Staff were very friendly and approachable. Food was of excellent quality

The restaurant temperature suddenly dropped during the evening meal - around 9.30 onwards. It would have been useful to have been warned that the bar served doubles by default. This could have had major impact on someone whose alcohol tolerance was more limiting. The soaps in the bathroom were meagre and, although coffee was available in the room, tea making materials were not necessitating a request to room service.

Above all, the Spa facilities were superb. Breakfast was just good and dining/drinks were excellent, although clearly overpriced. The atmosphere is delightful and the place ideally located with a feeling of hideaway despite being at a short walking distance from the city centre. I will come back.

General design of the hotel environment is average and rooms are pretty boring for a 5-star hotel. Toilets are slightly old and poorly equipped with minimal toiletries. Internet is not freely available in the rooms (I found it odd that it's free in communal areas though!). Room service is just fair and slightly unfriendly. Overall it does not put me off coming back and I will certainly repeat the experience (see my other positive comments).

The evening meal was fantastic! We always eat late and were the last ones in the restaurant but the food was as good as the first cover could ever be! The wine was also fantastic, you will read complaints and people being picky for every hotel on booking.com, we have been here 6 times and it is still one of our favourite hotels. Bath is beautiful, not sure on the ethics of how it was built but is a truely stunning place to walk around. We actually had a sunny day which was a first! The staff and service is excellent, the bed and pillows are very comfortable.

We were not recognised as a regular visitor which was the most dissapointing part of our stay. Paying for parking is daft and somewhat an insult to the guest (given the cost of one night stay). If the hotel is that desperate to recoup the cost of the barrier and parking security then put the room price up by £5. The outside pool needs to be re-tiled and overall the hotel is starting to look worn. It is about time the rooms are all re-done, whilst still comfortable and nice, they could be amazing.

The Spa area. Being able to come and go as you pleased. Secure parking. Helpful staff. Proximity to Bath itself The surrounds. All our 'complaints' are small, yet they need addressing if the 5* is to be maintained. We spoke to reception about all the issues prior to leaving and the gentleman took note. On the whole we had a very good time and would definitely return.

The room was not turned down every night (only on our last night) The efficiency at breakfast left a lot to be desired (my poached eggs were cold - not value for money) We had a paper delivered and we did not order one. The radio stations were not tuned in and there was no BBC of any kind (we like radio two). Also the frequency of the radio and TV stations on the table in the rooms needs to be updated. The restocked coffee was not the same from day to day in our rooms.

Fantastic Georgian architecture, sympathetically restored, a very warm feel to the hotel, elegant, fantastic light in the public areas, welcoming fire in reception, friendly, helpful staff, beautiful large gardens creating a feeling of country house hotel whilst being close to the city centre. Stayed here for business but would definitely return for a weekend break!

The city of bath not the hotel

Hidden charges ! Beware of lots of hidden charges such as £5 for parking, £40 for breakfast (which the egg was cold and had to wait 40 min) - also in our room the tv wasn't working (yes it's meant to be a 5 star hotel) and a rude girl at the reception said there is a problem with aerial and she can't do anything about it..... In the morning when I went to shower the water was cold and no explanation was provided other than again telling me (go and use the shower in the gym!!!!!) - overall it was a very bad experience and mainly the manner of some staff who were disrespectful to us....

Wi Fi in rooms is charged and is mean. Key TV stations were not working and no good will gesture was offered by Hotel.

Ground floor design, especially Al-Fresco room. Front landscaping - very attractive, even in Winter weather! Our room with 4poster bed together with available spa treatments made for a luxurious Easter w/end break.

The breakfast staff were very slow and inefficient. Price for continental breakfast very high. Bedroom carpet was stained by bathroom overflow. Decor very tired in hotel. Noisy repairs of leak in ceiling outside room at 3am.

A lot of broken things : the locker, the TV, some machine at the gym. We have to pay for everything : to park the car, for wifi, the brunch for kids

The hotel is beautiful, the staff were very friendly, the Spa facilities are excellent and the hotel is in a good location.

The room was very standard considering it is a 5 Star hotel. In addition, certain areas of the room were not very clean. The bathroom looked a bit tired and could do with a lick of paint. Furthermore, charging guests for car parking is a little odd!!
