Too far from Chestr City centre Noise from bar & reception
Room was very clean and comfortable
Breakfast piled on a very small plate
Bedroom & bathroom facilities good. Good food & real ales.
Hearing bottles being disposed of late at night.
Breakfast was very good, staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the room was very clean and comfortable with a nice shower.
The room was above a noisy bar, although this didn't disturb my sleep.
Liked everthing about the hotel staff very helpful good fresh breakfast good real ales at a good price good location enjoyed our stay will come back again
Location within walking distance of Chester city centre, but with local facilities (shops, restaurants) in the immediate vicinity.
Close to a busy road but this was not a problem - we slept well.
Clean, tidy comfortable, good food, bar if you want it. Close to town.
Great bedroom, en suite with great shower, fridge, kettle, ample tea/coffee and lovely biscuits!
Not much, but Bawn Lodge bar is very busy, no chance of having a meal in a secluded seat.
We had a Great stay The Staff was some of the best we have come across. We have stated. In some Lodgers &Hotels in our time
Friendly staff and comfortable room mae my brief stay enjoyable. The room had recently been refurbished in good taste and was spotless. The hotel bar was popular without being boisterous.
The shower went lukewarm during use, presumably due to running out of hot water.
Easy to park the car, friendly staff, good food, 15-20 mins. stroll into Chester centre. our room was on the back so we had no problem with traffic noise. Good clean room and bathroom.
If you are in a room on the front you would get traffic noise.
Only a few minutes walk to Chester City centre. They had Sagres & Moretti !
Got the last car parking space - didn't dare move it!
A friendly hotel, popular with local people as well as guests. The food was good.
Staff very helpful and friendly
Ground floor room with windows looking out onto beer garden therefore unable to open windows or curtains and also right next to reception area with all the noise of checking in and telephone ringing at all hours and being woken by drunken revellers who had locked themselves out at 2 am
A clean light airy modern room with plenty of space and a nice big modern bathroom and shower. (No bath - but the shower was huge). Excellent breakfast! Just 5 minutes walk from Chester rail station and maybe 15 - 20 minutes easy walk to town
I don't have any grumbles at all really. I loved it. Slept like a baby
Clean Friendly Accomodating Well positioned
Proximity to the city centre. Room looked to have been recently decorated. Modern bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful.
No facility to print a VAT invoice on departure.
Location Comfy bed Breakfast
Staff upon checking in Breakfast staff Noise outside from staff
I had booked a twin room for myself and my daughter, but when we arrived we were offered a double, which was unsuitable. This matter was resolved very quickly and we were offered 2 doubles which was great. We only stayed 1 night but the staff were pleasant and breakfast was adequate. The beds (rooms14 & 19) were really comfy. It was very good value for money.
Lady who served us breakfast wasn't very nice.
Breakfast is lovely rooms are modern and brilliant location
good place to stay cumfy clean cheapest bar in chester with a great range of beers and lagers food is nice too great steaks
Location of Bawn Lodge was excellent - about a mile from City but at the near end of Hoole Road (all the B&Bs here). The outside space was good (we are smokers), friendly, open to locals so busy of an evening. The local area was excellent - gastro pub across the road on the corner - can't remember it's name but was lovely - we ate there on both evenings (Bawn Lodge food recommended by locals but nothing on the menu we fancied - sorry!).
Asked what time we would like breakfast but still had to wait half an hour for the cooked part of it. Didn't wait as long second morning.
All good, friendly and efficient staff. Breakfast was excellent. Within easy walking distance of city centre. Stayed 2 nights, never needed to touch the car until we left at the end of the visit.
Some hairs on the bathroom floor. Toilet seat annoyingly loose but I don't think I would rate either as serious problems!! Overall, lovely room
convenience to Chester. pleasant room...given an upgrade. lovely breakfast
I found it difficult to sleep as the hotel is so close to the road...others may not find this a problem
food, bar, bed
too noisy from the road
