Staff were crowded in reception, shouting at each other in a foreign language. The room was tiny and extremely outdated, 10years old tv and the room urgently needs a new paint! Their card machine wasn't working so they decided to photocopy my credit card and keep a copy, WITHOUT my consent. I only saw it at check out the next day by the desk and recognised it. No apologies were made for it.
Rooms are locataed in a nice venue
The room was cold.I dont think the heating can cope. The bedding was of poor quality
most things. the food choice was good and plenty of choice.
card key that did not work every time. noisy cisterns no tv/radio in the morning
Very cold through out the building. Half finished decor throughout the building
wifi didn't work
Grounds and buildings quaint, booked the deluxe suite although big and bathroom nice not deluxe. Good for stop over for functions. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Very cold and draughty, suite large but not deluxe and overpriced. Breakfast warm not that great, if you are going for special stay the deluxe suite not going to meet expectations. No TV reception in the room.
The room was good. excellent comfort for the bed.
A water running noise, that only started at night, Not there in the morning The thermostat indicated the room was at 27'c. Even though it was about 4'c outside. Took a bit to cool the room down
Great bed and calm location
Wi Fi should be free. This is a UK wide problem.
We are returning customers got treated really badly - never again. Got another booking at Stoke Place - vow fantastic and great value for money.
The staff and the way we were treated. Would say never come back.
On arrival asked if I could order coffee to be told 'no, the bar is shut'. The room was clean but had not been replenished with tea bags or toilet paper! They advertise an award winning Indian restaurant - but it was very mediocre and served on cold plates (I eat Indian food a minimum twice a week). Despite booking breakfast with reception, when I went down at 8.00 am they weren't expecting me and had cleared it all away.
Restaurant with indian cuisine.
WLAN not reliable, several times router to Internet stopped working and also not WLAN access everywhere, especially not in restaurant, this especially where WLAN is required for business.
Clean room and friendly staff
Reasonably comfy beds Good value for money Very close to segro estate
Very limited choice of food -mostly Indian food with very little choice for walking distance alternative Very small rooms
WiFi access poor
Restaurant with Indian food ! Most staff were very pleasant and helpful.
WiFi was very unreliable (ask for the boardroom network if you need it). Room was a bit shabby, toilet didn't flush properly and some drawer handles were missing.
The Reception staff were very polite and attentive. The Restaurant served great food at very reasonable prices. The main building is a beautiful statement. Free parking
The Budget room I was in was an insult to this otherwise beautiful hotel, the bed was not bolted down so I could not sit up to read or watch tely. cleaning and maintenance standards were poor in my room and the common areas.
The too Was dirty it wasn't made up actually terrible value for money
Food was really good. Staff was friendly.
Rooms looked like there were last maintained in the 80s and they looked like a really cheap motel
Decent shower and easy to get in at night!
Rude staff, only 2 pillows, bathroom door didn't close and noisy in the mornings you can hear everything! Sorry just being honest they made me feel like an alien!
Demanded photographic identity despite the room being booked and guaranteed with credit card Very poor attitude to prospective customer In fact i found an alternative hotel
Nice building for the frontage
Small rooms. Unsympathetic use of a listed building.
The staff were helpful but a little disorganised as if they hadn't been there long. The food was nice and the parking was good.
There was a lot of people around who either owned the place or were friends/business partners of the owner and I felt like I was out of place being a paying guest. I was late for breakfast, it finshed at 9am but I thought it finished at 10am, the lady was very pleasant and apologised and did get me a cup of tea when I asked, but could not do any food. When I was on my way back to my room I saw a guy eating a full breakfast spread that had just been brought to him! It was one of the owners/friends I'd seen the night before.
Cleanliness, service, dining experience, no ambience, noises functionnot much
Lovely bedding and comfy bed, clean room.
There was a wedding taking place which we weren't told about until we checked in at 9pm after a long day at legoland. With 3 small children and music so loud it make the windows shake, you can imagine I wasn't impressed. The hotel should have advised us when we booked. I would not have chosen to stay here. Breakfast was average, staff were friendly but being such a beautiful building you'd think it would be looked after better. Looking very tired, odd choice of furniture, not really matching the style of the building but that's just me being picky.
Staff was very friendly Looked very nice from outside, Clean on the inside
Bin people arriving very early and making lots of noise and no doubble glazing to keep out sound. Felt the room iwas not up to 4 star standards. Light fittings hanging off in bed room, dirt in shower area, as in dirty grit, and round the bottom seals. booked for 1 adult 1 child and got a small doubble bed. Checked small print on internet and for another child bed would be £30 extra. Misleading on the booking process with not putting age to warrant own bed with in the price.
