The bed at the junior stuff was not cleaned properly. Dust near the furnishings.

Lovely old world atmosphere at the hotel with real log fires. Very cosy and charming

Restaurant manager was inflexible about making the Bar menu available in the restaurant for our teenage daughter. He was very courteous though.

The lovely welcoming log fires, the helpful and friendly staff, particularly Matt. The best breakfast choice we have ever seen. Great to have fresh fruit. Professional service and excellent food at dinner. Comfortable room and large bathroom. Would highly recommend it, lots of character and a great atmosphere

We stayed in the garden room on the second night of our honeymoon travelling up to North Wales. The bedroom was very comfortable; we did not dine in as we were a few minutes late for dinner but breakfast was fine. The staff were curteous and helpful. The hotel was convenient for an exploratory walk around Burford. Would stay again

The hotel is very cosy with very nice log fires. Staff were generally very friendly. The food in the bar was excellent, the one night we ate there. Our room was also comfortable, bathroom was excellent with Molton Brown products. Breakfast was also very good, with excellent quality food.

We had a twin room, and although comfortable, the beds were very small, more akin to young children's beds. Other than this, it was excellent.

County hotel, log fires, good company

We had booked for 2nights with dinner. Our first night the dinner was poor and certainly not value for money. We chose to cancel the second night's dinner, the manager, however was very apologetic. On arrival our room was very cold, however staff did their best to improve the situation. First impressions of the reception area were very poor, a doorway from a passage leading from the car park was very narrow with another unmarked door leading to the reception area. Also en route we had to pass a dangerous stone staircase.

A nice ambience .... relaxing and pleasant room

I didn't like the canned music which played in the restaurant even at breakfast time , which appeared to be an infinite loop .. the problem is two fold .. I don't like music when I am eating and I didn't anyway like the particular music which was played.. It is a pity because otherwise the restaurant was very pleasant

Well appointed hotel in a lovely little cotswold village

It is a lovely old hotel situated in a quiet location off Burford High St thus ensuring a good night's sleep.The rooms are comfortable and relaxing in traditional style and the food is first class.We stayed 5 nights and thoroughly recommend the breakfasts which offer a wide choice.Of the three nights we dined at the hotel,one was in the Woolsack bar ,the other two in the restaurant, but the standard of cuisine was excellent in both.The hotel staff were polite and attentive at all times and we would definitely stay here again.

2Nd floor room up steep staircase with inanadequate fire escape.Charged maximum amount for dinner despite us only having 2 courses and their own tarrif charges less for that+ £5 P.p less if you booked in advance as we did.
