We enjoyed the open fires, good food and general comfort. We were very unhappy to be in Swinford which is over the hotel's refridgerator - the humming of the motor was excessively noisy which was on constantly all night .. only on the third night the staff were persuaded to turn it off from 11 p.m. until 7 a.m. so that we could sleep. The receptionist would have changed our room but the hotel was full. |

Really nice hotel tucked away in a side street, but close to the town centre. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Our room was excellent, with a great view. We didn't get to try the restaurant but will do so next time, because we definitely will be going back. |

Comfortable and relaxing. The staff were attentive The top room didn't quite match the decor downstairs (which was very nice) There was no prior warning about those stairs - not inconvenient to us- but would be for some I'm sure. The room was not warm and the bed not turned down. |

Nice location. Kitchen staff need a shake up! Seats in bar area & parts of restaurant look like they have survived major civil war skirmishes - they need replacing! |

The staff were all so very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were traditional some with 4 poster beds and very comfortable, mine even had an open fire ready to light and the garden is beautiful. Burford is a nice place to stay with plenty of Cotswold villages to explore near by, shops and tea shops. |

We had a wonderful room with the most comfortable bed, we didn't want to leave. On our arrival at 4pm we had missed lunch and were too hungry to wait for the restaurant to open for dinner. We asked the receptionist if we could order a cheeseboard or sandwiches to have with some wine, we were told we could only have a cream tea, which had a few sandwiches in it. It was a very dissapointing start to our stay and will always be our lasting memory. |

atmosphere and food great. Service good i booked this on behalf of my parents who have stayed many times, used to be an annual event. I joined them for lunch to find that after asking for a nice room for them they were put in a small dingy bedroom that smelt of smoke, Somewhat ruined their happy memories of the place. They where eventually moved to a better room but at these prices poor rooms should not be issued. |

Pleasant and quaint with lovely roaring fires. walls were a bit thin in our room called , so we were woke by a loud german talking next door at 8am ! The drinks in hotel bar are very over priced, and the Valentines meal was dissapointing, cold plates, over cooked veg and undercooked sticky toffee pudd, a shame as the dining room is lovely. Prices of the drinks in the bar are ridiculous ! |
