Said to be haunted by the ghost of Mary Queen of Scots, this Elizabethan hotel has historic features and a cozy restaurant. Charm and character mix with modern facilities.

Pleasant reception staff impressive bar and restaurant facilities. Room/bathroom very clean and comfortable
Restaurant staff were inexperienced and had not been trained in the way to lay cutlery in the correct positions on a table. We were not given the opportunity to taste the bottle of wine we selected before it was served into the glass. Dinner menu needs improvement.
Everything, especially staff who were very helpful and even cooked me a breakfast before the official start, as I needed to leave early
The shower was the rain shower, meaning the water flow was very weak, making it impossible to wash any hair, apart from very short
Great staff, gorgeous rooms, loved it!
Comfortable beds, room was very quiet. Reception staff were excellent
The inability of obtaining a sandwich or a snack on Sunday afternoon. Told we could only order Sunday lunch. Inconvenient as we were to attend a function at 4pm and had travelled through the morning to reach hotel.
Lovely staff who were very friendly and attentive. The room was spectacular, a large spacious room with a lovely bathroom.
Air conditioning draft in the breakfast room.
Beautiful House, spacious new rooms. Very comfortable. good food.
A bit hot in the room. needs aircon on hot nights.
Lovely imposing building, plenty of car parking, fantastic staff, comfortable and quiet room. Good grounds and walkable 15 minutes into the town. Great for business stay.
There's isn't much to dislike, all in all a good stay.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed
My room was clean and very comfortable, although it was too hot, which meant I had to intermittently switch on a fan to cool the room down.
I ate at the restaurant and the service was slow and the food very poor - I left most of it.
Lovely place to stay around Kettering
Lovely to have a separate room off the bedroom to put up a travel cot. Very comfy bed and always good to have separate bath and shower.
Still a few teething problems eg reception staff did not know layout of hotel and took us plus all of our luggage all over the hotel.
Very nice hotel, great staff, will book again when I am in that area.
I can't find anything to dislike about it.
Very comfortable and reasonably priced restaurant.
Beautiful hotel on fabulous grounds with very helpful friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again. Spa will enhance the hotel and attract more visitors.
More comfortable pillows would be a plus.
Good comfortable room (1) suitable for business with private working area - almost a suite! My preference is always for a bath - but on this occasion had bath and a fabulous shower.
Not a thing! Well done.
Hotel was easy to find and the grounds were nice. Room was of a good spec. Dinner was good. Breakfast o.k.
The barman wasn't exactly welcoming. A smile would have been nice. The waitress who took my order for dinner didn't seem that bothered - it seemed like a bit of a chore for her. The Hotel is not located in a peaceful location - it's right next door to a busy main road and the traffic noise is very noticeable. I was woken up at 5.40 am by a lorry delivering to the hotel kitchens. When checking out, I mentioned to the Receptionist that i had been woken at 5.40 am and she said "oh - by the delivery lorry." So it's an everyday occurrence which they don't mention. I wasn't offered a reduction on the room rate for which I had paid £80. They don't offer a bed and breakfast rate which seems very penny pinching.
Lovely, stylish, comfortable room and ensuite.
Room was very comfy. Nice bar and restaurant.
The rooms were contemporary in a traditional building
I was I a room at the top and had to walk by a window onto a flat roof. This was very very dirty with rubbish and a dead pigeon which had obviously been there a while.
Very plush clean modern decor in an old building full of character & history
This is what the Hotel business is all about. Comfort, good food, well stocked bar and wine cellar and beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Enjoy
Not realising that they owned the fabulous Rushton Hall too!
The room was beautiful with lovely finishes. Bed was very comfortable.
Room was directly above the lobby and was quite noisy with music and people from the bar at night.
A quality hotel. We use this hotel when visiting relatives close by. The hotel is very relaxing with lovely grounds. The food is very good.
I am sure it will be better when they develop the view from the side rooms overlooking the site office
Beautiful bedroom and bathroom. Nice that complimentary water bottle was provided too, this is a small but often overlooked nice touch.
My room was lovely
Did not like having to carry heavy bags upstairs
