The staff were welcoming,friendly and helpful. Food served at the hotel bar was superb excellent range of daily specials and good portions. Rooms were clean, light and comfortable

Easy access to surrounding areas of tourist attractions, including beaches castles and horticultural attractions. Comfortable accommodation, regularly cleaned. Excellent food and drink at reasonable prices.

Curtains let a lot of light through causing early waking. Suggest black out linings.

Being served a rotten carrot and a small portion of chips, even acknowledged by the waitress as small & when i raised it i was given more chips & told they'd tell the kitchen. Why is the kitchen letting a rotten carrot out in the first place?

The room was rather hot as we had the boiler in our room but nothing to complain about.

On-going works in reception area - they did apologise and did their best to get round it. Did not have a significant effect on our stay.

Great place to stay and do not be put off by the inexpensive room price. I've stayed at far more expensive places that don't offer the quality this does.

The hotel was very nice and all the staff and owners where really friendly and helpful. The hotel was well sited and the food was excellent. We would like to return when the weather is better so we could enjoy our stay more

The hotel's general areas, bar, reception corridors were chilly throughout the stay and our room was very cold on the first night, the outside temperature was about minus 10 but the heating in the room had only been switched on at 2pm, this meant the room and the bed were exceptionally and uncomfortably cold. That is why the comfort rating above was poor. A mix-up on the food bill meant we where overcharged by £113.55. It was refunded back to us but only after I checked the bill in the car and discovered we had been charged twice for Friday and Saturday evenings food so we had to return to the hotel for a card refund.

A very welcoming hotel who really could not have been more helpful and pleasant. The room was very comfortable and cosy with everything that I needed. Would definately visit again and I would have no hesitation in recomending them.

Lack of hot water in the bathroom. No kippers for breakfast, as they were used to make pate the previous evening.

i liked the spacious room, the big comfy bed. loved the food, breakfast. . smoked salmon on the menu! then the steak, the game casserole and the sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce was to die for! :)) I mentioned the shower at breakfast. . . didn't seem to be chucking out much water. . . it was checked within 5 mins! and turned out to be my fault. . didn't turn it on to full extent. . so all good marks for service! halloween party. . the dining room and bar was decorated fantastically. thats it
