We happened upon this hotel and were absolutely delighted to find a friendly, comfortable hotel with amole parking and a super restaurant. We shall come again.
Grandness and history of the placed
Difficulty getting to our wedding function room.
This hotel is first class all the way. We have stayed in lots of hotels up and down the country and it comes in the top two without a doubt! Breakfast excellent. Stables Restaurant excellent! Location excellent! Staff excellent! We will be back
There was nothing to dislike. So what if there is very little Wi-Fi. You are in the middle of some of the best countryside in England so just enjoy the surroundings and relax
Location Views Friendly staff
No Wifi in room for phone Poor signage in hotel making it hard to find restaurant Bedside lamp didn't work
The location and the history of Beamish Hall was well explained by various members of your excellent staff. The three course meal was one of the top three we have ever had on our frequent Hotel visits. Our compliments to a five star Chef and a five star team of staff, including the Stables with their fantastic range of Real Ales. A special mention to the background Staff, Cleaners etc. Everything we asked of them was achieved without any complaints. Well done 10/10
English breakfast was too dry. At£12.50 it was poor value. The Toilet access at the Stables was upstairs and difficult for my Wife and me.
We have stayed at the Beamish Hall Hotel before and have never been disappointed. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and the rooms clean and comfortable.
The room we stayed in on this occasion was quite small but comfortable so no complaints. We did find the Stables Bar however not up to the standard that it had been on our previous visit. Could not get a signal or WiFi
we attended the bonfire and fireworks at beamish museum which was only a short taxi ride away from the hotel. Excellent pub nearby called the shepherd and shepherdess. loved the stables bar and restaurant
nothing all good
The wedding we attended
Couldn't check in untill 3.00pm but had to be out by 11a.m . The room was loke sleeping in a cupboard. Disgustingly small.
staff, cleanliness, good food with good portions, great beer
enjoyed good breakfast in EDEN room, great room for dining, shame evening meal was not served there too but STABLES was ok!!
Romm was brilliant, staff professional, friendly and polite, food was fantastic
The hotel was superb - in a lovely setting with friendly staff who were happy to welcome guests and help in any way they could. Bedrooms were comfortable and clean and the public areas were well maintained. Food was varied and excellent quality. We hope to return in the future especially after reading promotional material for special events.
There isn't anything negative to say about this hotel.
There is nothing not to like about Beamish Hall. Every member of staff we encountered was sincere and friendly, the room was well furnished and very comfortable. The food was a very high quality and not over priced, with plenty of choice. The hall itself is well decorated and furnished with eye catching antiques. Absolutely brilliant!!!!
Having to leave !!
- The pretty side - Bfast is overly lavish - The restaurant staff is very friendly and attentive.
Difficult access road. Reception not friendly at all. We don't feel welcome, I will not recommend to my friends!
We arrived on foot from Newcastle and the staff were very welcoming even though we looked very scruffy with dirty boots! Good room, good price, good meal, good breakfast.
Very comfy room, beautiful old building, friendly staff and excellent food. Would recommend.
WiFi coverage was poor but given that it is an old building with thick stone walls that is probably to be expected. An Ethernet cable is provided in the rooms.
nothing not to like
The bed was superbly comfortable, lovely and clean. The staff were lovely, and the food excellent. It was ideally situated for our visit to the beamish museum.
The noise from the creaky floorboards in the room above us, and (though hardly the fault of the hotel), noisy people in the next bedroom, talking very loudly until the early hours. Oh, and a dripping tap in our room.
Champagne and chocolates in room on arrival Room very comfortable
Nothing, was excellent, definitely coming back
Very pleasant hotel, staff extremely friendly, nice rural setting. Would possibly stay again.
Upon arrival we were allocated room 004 which has a rather large bathroom with double bath!! The only thing which let it down was the cleanliness of the bed covers and sheets. Paying the amount of money you do for a room like this I found it quite unacceptable.
Loved our room and surroundings. Staff were always helpful. Had booked for one night, but stayed for two. Coming from Australia it was a great experience. If I ever get back, would not hesitate to book again.
excellent hotel - staff were extremely helpful
i was disappointed with the food as i asked for a shoulder of lamb and it came as loose meat and not on the bone as expected
A great place Great food and service
Having to leave
Comfort, cleanliness, staff efficiency and helpfulness.
The food in the resteraunt was APPAULING!! We booked a table for 7.30 to be told they had run out of three items on the menu. This left all fish choices (alright if you enjoy fish) or the Sunday dinner option, which we had to take. BIG MISTAKE. It arrived christened, charred and cold. Clearly prepared at lunch time. We had ordered extra portions of roasts, which were so overdone you couldnt get a knife into. New potatoes and vegeables were stone cold and inedible, and the yorkshire puddings were burnt to within an inch of their lives. totallt inedible. We asked for some fresh food to be told they were very sorry but it was all the same, and they couldnt offer anything better. we should have realised when we saw lots of plates being returned with much of the food untouched. The problem with the location while very nice was that at that time of night it was a case of try the food or go hungry. I've never had to say this before, but sack the chef! It was that bad. Either that or if they were following your methods of preparation then change them. It ruined our stay and after a days walking it was the last thing we wanted or expected. We have now struck Best Western off our list of hotel chains to use, based on this experience.
Location, character, bar & dining facilities were great. Ample menu & beer choices (on-site micro brewery). Deluxe room was very spacious with plenty of cupboard/drawer space. Staff were all friendly & provided an excellent service.
Bed mattress was a bit lop-sided (probably due for renewal). Kept rolling towards the centre - which didn't go down too well with the missus!!
Grounds and the bar/courtyard area are beautiful
