Ideal location for our needs, great room with proper extra bed not a z-bed. Will stay again if we need a hotel in that area.

The staff were lovely and very welcoming. My daughter and I had our evening meal and breakfast in the hotel restaurant and I could honestly say, the food was just as good if not better than some of the top hotels I have been in across the world! A+ service! Our room was perfect for us and all very clean and well decorated. Had everything you could need in it.

A stone's throw from Flamingoland, well equipped family room with double and single bed, nice quiet location, good breakfast, delicious evening meal, friendly staff.

Room dusty with a slight damp fusty smell, bathroom electric towel rail held together with old sellotape! I read this on an older review and wrongly assumed they would have fixed it. Very shoddy indeed, just get it fixed! I didn't want to use this electric item in case the sellotape gave way and made it dangerous, as well as the germs no doubt stuck to the old sellotape getting on my children's towels. Not nice and a small thing like this can spoil a person's stay. There was nowhere else to put the wet towels, so they were left lying around. Ok for a one-night stay but I wouldn't have stayed another night. Wifi was sporadic and didn't work at all from about 9pm or the following morning. (No T-mobile/EE/Orange signal) All in all the room needed a lick of paint and some basic replacements. The toilet seat had a strange coating on it, as though it had been painted with something. Buy a new one! They are £10!

Some nice touches for example the complimentary J2O in your room and free wifi. The bar was comfortable and welcoming.

The mattress is probably the worst I have slept on in years - cheap rather than worn-out quality. The hotel looks a bit tired and in need of a refurb for example the towel rail is held together with sellotape! The food in the restaurant, like the hotel itself, could have been excellent with a little more effort. The medium-rare steak was well done on one side and rare the other. I guess it was forgotten, but no excuse for sending it out!

A lot of people who were staying the same night as us were going to a concert some 12 miles away, all the local taxi firms were fully booked leaving a lot of people stranded and the hotel staff did nothing to help. They should have know that people were staying there to go to the concert and if they didn't they should have asked, the concert is on every year and from past experience they should have know the problems of getting a taxi to the venue, yet nothing was said. They could have emailed people in advance warning them of the potential problems of getting to the venue from the B&B via a taxi or even arranged transportation to and from the venue and charged, people would have paid for the service.

    Breakfast was decent

The room was damp and stuffy when we arrived, small and a bit cramped. The bathroom was cream but very dated, the radiator was stuck on with selotape! Overall it was OK and was decent for what we wanted which was just a room, however I would say overpriced for what it was.
