Food was excellent and room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful and the building had lots of character such as open fires and unique quirky features that only an old building can provide.

Location in the centre of town Cosy atmosphere in the bar Room decorated nicely Good breakfast
Room very small Mattress old and lumpy - it needs replacing Not good value for the price charged
Food and wine were astounding and the rooms were gorgeous!
Only criticism was the lack of sleep due to the heating being on high all night...other than that a perfect, romantic getaway. Definitely going again!!
wonderful traditional pub - great staff and great food- really beautiful room - one of our best pub stays in England.
The staff were excellent, good food and a decent bed for the night, couldn't ask for more really
A little pricey but then I did book late
The food was excellent, the breakfast superb. The staff could not have been more helpful.
Breakfast tables are very small. The poor barmaid was rushed off her feet trying to maintain 2 bars on her own at 4.30 to 5pm.
The room was amazing wish we could of spent more time in there ! We were in a feature room .
Food, staff, location
Temperamental wifi, beds and bedding a bit old and needed replacing
Everything, felt comfortable immediately. Staff very friendly and efficient, nothing to much trouble. Food was wonderful, and our room was great. Will stay longer next time .
Nothing to dislike.
Dogs in the restaurant
Not a lot
Food and coffee both only tepid. In a hurry to get on our way so didn't complain, people on another table did and did get fresh coffee but it took along time. Sausage was only cooked on one side.
Not a lot to dislike. The whole inn and staff were what we looked forward to when booking. We wanted a relaxing break and the added bonus was their attitude to dogs which was welcomed.
Our first breakfast was a disappointment. We felt the bacon had been kept warm and not freshly cooked and the sausages were not as good as my husband had had for dinner the previous day.
Busy yet very caring staff. Particularly impressed that the owner happily served us and got involved when other staff were busy. Really welcoming, we commented how everyone had smiles on their faces!
Breakfast wholesome but maybe a bit bland.
The location and the atmosphere. Lovely gardens.
Rather noisy early morning. People talking loudly. Felt a little rushed at breakfast.
The staff were excellent, food very good value for money and great variety. Would definitely recommend this little gem.
There was a bit of noise from kitchen but it didn't inhibit our sleep.
We needed to find somewhere at very short notice due to a family bereavement. The Bear Hotel is a pet friendly hotel and we were able to bring our dogs with us. The staff are great, food is very good and the local area very picturesque
have stayed before, and always enjoy my visit
Excellent Breakfasts with Gluten free options inc Toast always available
T-Bone steak was good but not worth the price asked
Lots of charm
Tight to park, but I have got a big car.
Good size room, recently refurbished, so space for dog & basket
- Breakfast orange juice very tart - plenty of parking spaces but it will test your manoeuvring skill
