Very helpful staff and good food
Staff very helpful and friendly. Food excellent and location great
Service and friendliness of staff. Location in centre of Hungerford. Good menu and wine list.
Easy to find, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and was great. All the staff were friendly
Professionalism of the team
Room near the road
Appreciated help sorting out the taxi!
Breakfast was very average, sorry I didn't enjoy it
Welcoming and helpful staff. Bed very comfortable.
Breakfast very poor - was those real eggs? The scrambled eggs were swimming in water. And de-frosted smoked salmon? Disgusting and unnecessary. Surely you need a chef who can cook eggs and present smoked salmon.
Facilities Bar staff
Cobwebs in the room not nice to see that. Breakfast Buffet was cleared away well before stated time. Only offered 1 cup of coffee during breakfast. Only when went to get up somebody appeared and only then was we asked if we wanted anything else.
Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. Lovely old building with lots of character.
No maintenance man to replace the light bulbs. Hard eggs on the second morning.
Upgraded coaching inn has retained its old character especially in main buliding.
Variable décor. Bar facilities
Comfortable- loved the room
We were left alone the whole time of our stay, however when we had contact with the staff they could not have been more helpful. On Christmas Day all the staff had Xmas jumpers on ( one even included a log fire on his jumper ).
Attended our Xmas dinner and dance in riverside room just perfect for event. Our room quite, spacious and clean with river view.
The honey moon suite was an excellent room and the bath is to die for
There was no bubble bath shower cap etc ???
It was nice to see 'local' staff, who were all very friendly, and attentive. Also local people who took time out to speak to us. We enjoyed our dinner, and breakfast, and the Hotel was nice and warm. The parking was excellent, and easy to find the Hotel
Oh, nothing really, the floor boards creaked in the bedroom, but I guess it's an old building
The spaciousness of the family room. It enabled us to share a room and have our own spaces. All was very clean, practical and tasteful decor. We love the history of the place and location.
We booked the family room as we were not certain whether our daughter (aged 32) could join us, hence could not commit on 2 rooms. I specified this in the booking details but it was not received very well as this exceeded the aged for children sharing. An additional charge was requested of me which I did not accept. This itself I believe was acceptable to the receptionist as our booking was room only without breakfast.
Welcoming staff and the room was clean and well presented. Room was in an attached block with an unusual floor to ceiling window, looking onto a courtyard. There was plenty of room to sit and a good sized TV screen. The bathroom was warm and and there was plenty of hot water to enjoy a soak in the deep bath. Good breakfast too!
Pleasant spacious bedroom
Far too hot on arrival - all radiators were on full blast - had to open windows (in mid-winter!)
Food and staff were great
Traffic was a bit noisy
I arrived after eight hours on the road and was very pleasantly surprised by the ambiance in the hotel. Relaxed, comfortable and amiable, it was just what I needed to prepare for the next day. Good food - particularly liked the complimentary pudding and the staff were attentive without being pushy.
Road noise was very intrusive early morning, but unless they triple glaze the windows there's probably not much that they can do about that.
The bed was like something out of the Princess and the Pea , it was so high but lovely and comfy. Nice welcome on arrival. Staff polite and breakfast was plentiful , Full English , toast , tea or coffee , cereals , pastries & yoghurts.
No one asked if we wanted to store our luggage as we checked in early we left out case in the car till we returned , no big deal but every little helps :)
All very good.
Looked after well by staff Great food Great room Love Bear Island Definitely be going back
Location is ideal for Hungerford
Very very basic Floors creaked, very noisy Rooms very poor quality TV technology 20 years old and very poor quality Had to wait 20 mins for breakfast as only one waitress who was brave enough to talk to Customers Will not be returning
