Accomadation and service was excellent. Food was excellent and worth the money.
There was nothing I didn't like.
The food at Bearslake Inn was fabulous and plenty of it. The staff were friendly and made you feel at home. 3 day break.....excellent
Beautiful building and surroundings.
A little noisy at night as we were above restaurant
Beautiful location, very friendly staff. A great family feel to it
I wish we could of stayed longer
Lovely old inn with friendly staff, first class food, superb beer. What more can you ask for. Breakfast was the best I have had for a long time. I will be back with my "child bride"
Food excellent. Lovely setting.
Watch out for low beams! Character with a vengeance! Bed linen a little tired.
Me and a friend stayed at bearslake for a wedding nearby. The staff could not have been more accommodating. Ordering taxis, bringing us fresh milk among many other things. Would definately recommend to others! Would love to stay there again. Thankyou so much for a lovely weekend!
nice room very friendly stuff good food location to Dartmoor
- Great location close to A30, near Lydford Gorge. - Peaceful garden with views over Dartmoor. - Lovely walk out the back to the Lake Viaduct. - Cosy pub-style bar area with good quality restaurant attached.
Great Location, with stunning views. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
warm welcome, very helpful &accomadating, the food was excellent
We loved the place and setting ,the staff were very frendly the food was great good size portions .the gardens are beautiful ,lovely quite place for a break.
Stunning location, with views to die for, and right on the moor. Five minutes up the path from the hotel, and you are on the Granite Way, for walking or biking. We were there four nights, and every person we met on the staff was friendly and helpful. We had the Longhouse Suite -- comfortable beds, and yes, tall people need to be careful. At 64 inches, I was fine through all doorways, although a couple of the ancient side walls gave me pause once or twice. The breakfast was excellent; the coffee was outstanding. We ate dinner twice in the dining room and once in the pub, and the food was good all around. Those who are light sleepers need to be aware that these old buildings are not "soundproof", but all is quiet, at least during the week, by 9:30 or 10pm in the bar and family rooms downstairs. Good wifi through out, and ample parking. We will be going back...
Staff. Good room (over restaurant)
Virtually every thing. It 'ticked all the boxes' in our hotel check list. All staff were polite and friendly, accommodation comfortable and food very good.
Nothing really, just a super place to stay.
The location and history of the inn was exactly a perfect scene for a relaxing holiday. The staff and especially Christine (our host)were very friendly and caring for our needs.
Our stay was too short!!
Great location, easy to get to places of interest. Could not fault the staff, the Inn itself, food very good.
Nothing really, perhaps the food in the restaurant a little pricey but would not put us off visiting again and this time for more than just 2 nights
We stayed in the Hayloft which was wonderful. Awe inspiring views of the moors and great food, what more could you ask for.
Liked olde world charm, location
being vegetarian, limited menu. Expensive drinks.
the welcome when we arrived even though we were very early.A coffee was offered which was very welcome. The meal in the restaurant was first class with varied choice. It is quiet with a wonderful garden.
Beautiful quiet room with views towards the moor. Good food both for dinner and breakfast. A friendly welcome.
Surroundings and food
I hesitate to praise Bearslake Inn because it will become so popular I'll never be able to get a room. It was fabulous. The setting is lovely, on the edge of Dartmoor, with a lively stream running through the large gardens. The food is outstanding and good value - far beyond regular pub food. Residents can dine in a separate dining room with a separate menu - recommended. The staff is the friendliest I've encountered at any hotel anywhere. We'll be back.
Our room was charming, but the doorways and some sloped ceilings were so low my husband kept hitting his head (he's under 6 feet/180 cm tall). We'll be sure to request a room with more headroom next time. Or bring a helmet.
Just one of the best hotels we have stayed in !! The food in tbe restaurant was excellent - fully recommend !!
On sundays the bar closed at 4 and the restaurant was closed in the evening.
