Shared bathroom, but it was no surprise. So we accepted it.

Tired décor - appreciate that this is a 2* guest house, but that doesn't mean it needs to be shabby. E.G., curtains could cover windows & block out light, cracks in ceiling could be dealt with. Value for money isn't great, but that's more of an Oxford issue, not a direct criticism of the guest house.

The lady of the hotel was super nice and very friendly and the location was great, just next to the railway station and 5 mins walk to the centre.

Near a Domino and train station

First of all, it has the strangest check in time! Before 6pm! And it has no free cancellation so I have to re-arrange my trip to get there on time. I dont know how to descrie how poor the facilities are, the room smells terrible, everything in that room is old and not clean enough!!Especially the kettle! It is disgusting me! I found water left inside, as well was limescale! The house keeper must have never ever cleaned it! I have to go out in the mid of night to buy some water, because there is no room services after 6. The bed is also very uncomfortable. Why couldn't they provide a normal quilt?they put three layers of blankes and a layer sheet on bed...rediculous! I didnt sleep at at night, not even an hour! I just kept awake and waited for the morning. This kind of room charged me £85 per night. What more can I say? It just broke my record of " the worst B&B I've ever stayed"

Excellent welcome. Dog friendly. Pretty village. Close walking distance to dog-friendly pub with good food. Easy drive to Oxford.

Easy access from bus/train station. Manager was great. Decent breakfast, comfortable beds, free wifi....lovely staff.

A real gem. Doesn't look much from the outside but the warm welcome, the excellent location and the honest recognition that the facilities are good, clean, sufficient - but not posh - make this an excellent choice. Highly recommend it.

The structural integrity of the shared bathroom was slightly worrying.

The central location was perfect. My room was spacious, well equipped with the basic stuff (like hangers and drawers) often lacking in budget places, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The English breakfast and free wifi were also great value.

Nothing really (though I did jokingly complain to the owner that the bed was so comfortable that I overslept).

The location is great. It is only 5-minute walk to train station and about10-minute walk to the city centre. The breakfast is good.

Everything was excellent during my stay. Very friendly and warm people. Excellent position (near rail station, Gloucester Green bus station, 5 min up to city center). Big and warm room. Quiet. Good breakfast.

It would be a 1 Star review but the hosts were welcoming and had fitted wifi. However, given the fact that you can get a perfectly acceptable hotel in London for the same money then I think this is very over priced.

The place needs a major overhaul. My room had a radiator, an electric heater and a towel heater. With the electric heater on full blast I managed to get my room warm. However, the towel heater, with its suspect looking wiring never managed to heat the en-suite. The room had single glazed sash windows. These really need to be updated with double glazed sash windows. The savings in their hearing bill would quickly recoup the cost. As another reviewer commented all the furniture and fittings were the very cheapest and some looked secondhand. Cleanliness wasn't great with cobwebs and spiders up the walls and worn out sheets. The decor was in much need of repair and painting. Everything had a very diy sos feel, especially the en-suite. Really cannot fathom why they painted the bathroom brown. They also have some weird check in times which normally wouldn't work for anyone on a business trip. I very rarely get to my hotel before 6pm.
