Excellent accommodation and friendly staff who were always very helpful. Breakfasts were excellent and good quality produce was used

Everything was great! Te room was comfy, stuffs were nice, very helpful. Enjoyed my stay! 2 minutes walk to town centre, 15 to the lake, 5 mins to train station, nice location!

Friendly but unintrusive staff. Good food. Clean comfortable room.

Room 5 was very cold despite raidiator and electric blanket so one of us did not get any sleep! Toilet was across the hall which we were aware of, but the toilet 'room' was cupboard size!

I've been there for only one night, but I can definitively recomend this B&B! I had a comfortable room and delicious breakfast in the morning. Staff on the highest level, very nice rooms decorated with attention to details.

Beckmead House was easy to locate, it is situated just under 10 minutes walk from Windermere rail station. We were warmly welcomed by the owner. We stayed in a double room which is nicely decorated and is very cosy. The room, shower and toilet are very clean. The breakfast is really good. They had a menu for us to choose from and all ingredients are freshly prepared every morning. Service, location, cleanliness are above average for a B&B.

The shower and toilet have no door hooks to hang our clothes so we couldn't get dressed in the shower room and changing clothes is not convenient.

We appreciated the welcome, the rooms, the beds, the towelling robes and the exceptionally good breakfast. The facial was a very pleasant bonus.

This is not a criticism at all just to warn potential clients that if they are large widthways they might struggle using the en suite!

The rooms, while small, like all Victorian apartments. were very modern,with new facilities in bath and toilet. Rooms were very, very clean and were serviced daily while we stayed. The breakfast provided was excellent, in both extent and quality, and on a par with 4 star hotels we stayed in the previous week.

Narrow stairs for an elderly sister in law staying with us were not a favourite part.

Friendly and professional staff. Clean, neat. Good room, on 3rd floor (be aware there are stairs). Good location, 10 min walk in either direction to restaurants, shops, etc. Lake 10 min walk away.

It was wonderful. Centrally located in the Lakes, it was ideal for us for visiting Lake Coniston, Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside and Grizedale Forest. Town is only 2 minutes away, together with a bus stop that takes you into Bowness. From Bowness it was nice to hop onto the old fashion steam boat (now diesel) to cross over to Amberside for further shopping and sightseeing! The room was spotless, with TV, DVD and tea making facilities. The breakfast was to die for! Local ingredients for the sausages and bacon - proper thick lean bacon, with very little of fat... it was the perfect start to the day ;o) They also offer a "picnic" deal for walkers, and for the ladies - they also offer a walkers picnic + pedicure or foot massage for additional costs. If you want the massage or foot massage package - you need to book early as unfortunately for us, they were full up as my girlfriend wanted the massage package so she didn't experience this. The staff Phil and Tilly are lovely people, and were extremely helpful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again. Well worth a visit.

Only thing I would stay is the additional packages is per person! It's labelled as "The Walkers Package" so we assumed it covered two people and for £5 and thought this was an good deal for a couple of sandwiches, a flask of coffee and a couple of the supermarket's own brand packets of crisps. Not too sure if it's worth £10 as if I'd of known that - I would have considered stopping at a cafe for something more filling for about the same price! We got this on the 2 days we was there as expected to pay £10 for the two days, and ended up costing £20 for a couple of sandwiches.

Relaxed friendly atmosphere, located at the gateway to the Dales. Very nice room at a fair price.

The lodge had a very warm and cozy atmosphere and beautiful decor. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. It was just 10 mintutes walk to Bowness which made it easier for us to reach the lake Windermere.

Great hosts; we took our dog and they made him and us feel very welcome. The breakfast is one of the best we've had at a b&b/guest house. The place itself is immaculate and tastefully decorated. We would stay there again. Good location too between Windermere and Bowness.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay at Beckmead's! In fact, it was a little too short! We loved the cosy environment and atmosphere at Beckmead's and the hospitality offered by Tilly and her family. They were also able to offer good advice wrt day tours of Lake District and the surrounds. On the whole, we loved the clean, cosy room and comfy bed, not forgetting the GREAT English Breakfasts served every morning! Really delicious and very substantial! :) We will definitely recommend Beckmead's to anyone touring in Lake District and would love to be back again soon! :)

The Beckmead offered a lovely warm welcome on arrival and inside the room and guest house were of immaculate standard. I look forward to staying at the Beckmead again. Superb.

Easily the cleanest and most comfortable BnB I've stayed in and with an excellent breakfast and very good power showers.
