Charming owner and excellent staff
Lovely location for an overnight stay, friendly staff and excellent food and service. Room was very comfortable and clean, bed exceptionally comfortable. Nothing to fault and good value for money for the location.
The staff were very smart and attentive, polite and curteous at all times. Room was spotless and food was of a high standard.
We had a thoroughly enjoyable couple of days around Chenies. The staff in the Bedford were very pleasant and efficient. The room was good value, the breakfast was great. We will definitely return
We had a long stay due to delay in moving house. The team were so kind and understanding with my young son. Excellent service all round!
Atmosphere of the place
Food, staff and room were all lovely.
I stayed here while visiting a friend in a nearby town following the end of a business trip. This inn/pub/restaurant was perfect for me. To an American, this seemed exactly what a "country home in England" would be like. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again when I next visit my friend.
The entire experience.
Bathroom was a little tired, shower was very hot. We did not like the piped music coming through from below our room but it was switched off when we asked.
Staff were friendly and helpful. They gave us good advice about the area. Nothing was any trouble to them. Food was lovely.
Well appointed and equipped room & facilities. Hotel is in a superb country setting. Clean comfortable quiet room (room in stable outbuilding). Breakfast excellent with good variety and freshly cooked hot main meal.
Spacious rooms, large comfortable beds with a relaxed atmosphere of a bygone era whilst having up to date facilities.
Evening meal did not live up to menu billing- miniscule portion of bass, no trace of the pesto promised in the sauce, tasteless prawns, and there was a major blunder with our order. However, the meal was good in many respects & the manager handled our complaint very graciously and refunded part of bill. So we left content- perhaps we caught them on a bad night.
Room and bathroom exceptionally tastefully furnished and of good size. Lavish provision of toiletries and room equipment- fridge, iron, hairdrier. Helpful staff- without requesting it, check out was postponed an hour for us because we were killing time before going to a funeral- and wonderful breakfast was beautifully served in a magnificent old dining room.
The hotel staff are so helpful and friendly and the food is amazing
Breakfast was fine but could be better. Bacon will come rather overdone unless you ask for it to be lightly grilled. Tendency to get 2 eggs even if you ask for one - common elsewhere, not a problem. Service good and friendly
Great friendly/ efficient/ competent service. Good to see the owner nearby. Very reassuring - important.
We were B&B guests, our reception was warm, friendly and efficient, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast very good. All the staff we had contact with were friendly and welcoming.
This was a really good find for us. Perfect location. Family run business- which shows through and through in the service, high level of attention to detail and the perfect mix of both traditional and quirky high end decor. Food and service fantastic.
The bed was very comfortable. Staff go that little bit further to make you feel welcome
missed out on this!
The buzz in the Bar and the good food.
Unfortunately the iron had some black sticky residue on it, which then transferred to my clothing. Staff could have handled it better.
Lovely pub, very comfortable accommodation.
I couldn't stay longer (but will return soon)
Room was superb as was breakfast abd the staff
The food was excellent
The request for an additional blanket for one single bed fell on deaf ears. The temperature overnight plumeted.
Comfort, warmth and a very helpful and obliging staff.
Bedroom decor dated
Food, bed size, staff
