Beech Cottage is the perfect place to stay. Clean, quiet and comfortable with warm and welcoming hosts. Excellent location for visiting Bath.
The owners are extremely hospitible people.
I hate to complain but there was one poor component of the stay. The pipes in the bathroom (size of bathroom which were extremely small) were not insulated and the noise after every flush or the opening of a tap could be heard from other rooms particularly bad at night. The bathroom light/ventilation was extremely noisy. Unfortunately difficult to easily rectify without a substantial investment in the place. Otherwise very hospitable owners.
The owners were really friendly.
It was a bit isolated and bot easy to find.
Jeff and Jacqui were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was relaxed and plentiful. Our room was lovely and warm with everything we needed. Bus stop was extremely convenient and buses very easy to use.
Clean comfortable and good value for money. Excellent hosts. Lovely cottage.
There was nothing to dislike
My boyfriend and I visited Bath and had one of the best weekends. Beech Cottage is perfectly located. It's not in the centre of Bath, but an easy 10 minute bus ride away in a little village which was lovely and quiet. The bus stop is literally outside the B&B and a day ticket costs £4 for unlimited journeys in and out of the city centre. A taxi costs around £8 - a good bet for later on in the evening. Our room was lovely, plenty big enough for two, and had a bath which exceeded our expectations. It was cleaned each day as well which was really nice. Jeff and Jacqui are absolutely lovely hosts, very friendly and interesting to talk to. JJ, their little puppy, was adorable too! They encouraged the guests to chat around the breakfast table too which was nice. Breakfast was delicious: spiced porridge, huge bowl of fruit salad, toast, cereal, yoghurt etc. Absolutely loved our stay at Beech Cottage and would definitely recommend it to anyone for a lovely, quiet, homely break in Bath.
Lovely homely Accomodation, loved being able to sit around the kitchen and talk, so very relaxing. Hostess was very helpfully and friendly, and loved the dog......
Extremely hard to find.
Wonderful host and amazing porridge for breakfast.
The hosts were very hospitable, giving us lots of information about Bath. I'm glad that she obtained a favourable impression about British people The rooms were comfortable and quiet and we much enjoyed the breakfast. It was the first day that one of our party had been to Britain.
Jeff, Jacqui, and fuzzball greeter puppy JJ, were extraordinary hosts. We felt at home immediately. Loved the attention to detail, the healthy, filling breakfast, esp. the porridge and fresh fruit salad. But most of all the great conversation and tips on visiting the city and surrounding areas. Lovely stay.
What's NOT to like? Nothing.
Stayed two nights back in September. What a great B & B. Jeff & Jacqui are terrific hosts & we were very grateful for the briefing from Jeff of the local area. Made it so much easier. Breakfast was great especially Jacqui's porridge!! Great location with bus stop right at the end of the laneway which took about 10 minutes to the centre of Bath. Great pub too around the corner about a 5 minute walk. Thank you again for a great stay.
The hospitality was fantastic, great hosts
Nothing!! Everything was great
Bus Stop right in front of the house, nevertheless quiet location
very healthy breakfast, just fruit, toast, marmalade, no eggs, nothing else. complex of buildings not very appealing, ugly wooden huts around the nice old main house. Lady of the house not very friendly
Jeff and Jacqui are a lovely couple who are very welcoming with loads of information on the area to get your exploring started. The accommodation is comfortable and well appointed.
Helpful and friendly hosts. Warm and comfortable room. Good advice about where to eat.
Beech Cottage is in leafy location, walkable into city (downhill) - bus (very easy, stop close to cottage) or taxi back. Inside it's clean, comfortable & very nicely decorated. Pretty garden & surrounding countryside. Lovely fruit salad & yoghurt for breakfast, great after a big meal the night before in one of the many fantastic restaurants & cafes Bath has to offer. Good local knowledge from the owners - Jeff suggested a vegetarian restaurant where we had one of the best meals we've ever eaten! Good one night stay, thanks.
Before we even arrived in Bath, Jeff sent us a very detailed and helpful email concerning our stay in Bath. We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts and were given a very interesting "briefing" over a cup of tea just after our arrival. We were given many useful tips and ideas to enhance our visit, for which we were very grateful. Our accommodation was very comfortable and we enjoyed interesting conversations over a breakfast that satisfied everyone's wishes. We can certainly recommend Beech Cottage!
Loved the whole place, the healthy breakfast and Jeffs help with map on ways for enjoying Bath.
Jeff and Jacquie were very welcoming and we were greeted and offered a cup of tea. Then Jeff gave us a very informative run down of places to see, eat and have a generally good time. You cannot go wrong with this. The breakfast is not the Full English type, but the porridge and fruit salad are to die for. The location of B & B, far enough out of the main city, but a very quick bus ride to centre of town, right outside B&B. There is a great pub just around corner that does meals in evening. You can also sit outside in the garden with a drink and just take in the little oasis that you have manage to stumble across. I am recommending this Beech Cottage to everyone. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thank you again Jeff, Jacquie and JJ
Jeff and Jackie were very welcoming and looked after us well.
Warm welcome and extensive debrief of the delights of Bath. In the morning the grease free breakfast with dissected fruits and fresh coffee set us up for exploring the town. We stayed 4 nights and the bus at the door made coming and going a breeze.
Just recently returned from a mid-week short break in Beech Cottage and what a find - Tucked away on a lane behind a row of terrace houses we couldn't believe how open, quiet and peaceful it is The Twin Room, although a little small, suited our needs perfectly and was clean with comfortable beds, TV and Wifi Jeff, Jackie and JJ were most welcoming and informative hosts ensuring our stay was a happy one I would recommend taking Jeff's advice for entering the hectic City centre and leave the car behind. Only about 2mins from Beech Cottage to the Bus Stop and only about 10 mins and £4.50 (current price) for a Day Ticket saves both petrol and Car Parking charges! If we travel to Bath again will definitely be staying at Beech Cottage
The hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Meeting other guests around the breakfast table made for an interesting start to the day.
Unless you like walking up steep hills you need transport to get to and from the city. Check what time the last bus returns as late night taxis can add to your costs.
friendly hosts sharing local knowledge breakfast with a difference clean and comfortable rooms
Easy access to biking and city
Breakfast time could be until 10am on saturdat
