By Car (from the M6 motorway):
- Leave the M6 motorway at junction 36.
- Follow the signs towards Windermere.
- After about 2.5 miles (4 km) turn left onto the A590, which is signposted Barrow-in-Furness.
- Follow the dual carriageway and after a while it turns into an ordinary road.
- About 0.5 miles (0.8 km) after the speed camera, it turns back into a dual carriageway again; as you approach this dual carriageway, go into the right-hand lane and turn right (signposted Witherslack/Bowland Bridge/Halecat).
- Immediately off the dual carriageway, you will cross a cattle grid and Beech Hill House is the detached house on the left.
If you reach the Derby Arms, you've gone too far, so turn around and come back the way you came. Beech Hill House is the detached house on the right, just before the cattle grid.
When on the A590, if you miss the turning as it turns back into the dual carriageway again, keep going to the roundabout. Go all the way round the roundabout and come back along the dual carriageway and take the first left after the garage.
