Breakfast was excellent. Most members of staff were excellent. Single room impersonating a double room. Very cramped. Only chair broken. No bedside table on one side of bed due to shower room door being so close to bed. Fan switch broken. On/off on tv remote broken. Crawl under bed to plug in bedside light. Sash window did not stay open, slams shut. Moved all unwanted items in room to the top of the oversized wardrobe. Toilet seat very loose. Toilet sash window did not stay open, slams shut. Very low shower pressure. Lack of space to put toiletries. On arrival we asked to be moved from original room as the bed was falling apart. Man on reception totally ignored us when we left - he seemed busy playing on the computer. I do not understand how this hotel is given a four star rating.

Pleasant room all nicely done, comfy bed, communal rooms are lovely, staff very helpful.Breakfast fantastic, buffet style as much as you like. Room a little small. Some of woodwork on stairs a little tatty. Some of guests there for big drinking night so a bit of disturbance in the wee hours. Overall still a good place to stay.

We stayed in the new part and found the room very clean. Additional 'luxuries' such as replenished bottles of water each day, chocolate sweets plus shower gels and tissues (which are sometimes now not supplied in large hotels). Breakfasts were excellent and service was good. Receptionists were very helpful in providing information. Small bar was also welcome after returning from a day of sightseeing - was enjoyable to relax with a drink. Bus service near and excellent - only used the car one day. Room was very small and bathroom cramped. If we hadn't been slim we wouldn't have been able to use bathroom facilities. Lift was out of order for the 5 days we stayed. Fortunately we are both quite fit and could manage the stairs but many people of our age would have had difficulties.

Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. We stayed on the 2nd floor and it was very noisy, walls very thin we could hear people talking in the next room which they did until 3am.

Friendly staff, bar prices were reasonable, 2 lounges to relax in. Very good breakfast in a nice modern room. No hangers in wardrobe, no shaver socket, shower head would not stay in holder.

Good bathroom. Dining area fine - food nice. Staff were courteous. Stuck up in eaves of roof - room looked nothing like what was advertised on web. Had to crawl on knees to plug in hair dryer. Room had funny smell. Tv far too high up on wall. Mirror too low - had to kneel to see myself in mirror.

The room was clean and tidy but the sloping floor took time to get used to. Excellent breakfast, helpful staff.. The sloping floor took time to get used to. The electrics were not the standard I would expect in a Hotel Room, extention sockets under dressing table which were not the fused type so not very safe.

I booked an executive suite for 5 people but it wasnt a suite it was a room with 4 beds crammed in all over the show. The room was noisey and could hear everything that was going on in the kitchen downstairs. As it was all so crammed my head was right next to the fridge that made a loud noise all night. We couldnt close the door in the room as the bed was in the way.

Appeared to be the only hotel in all of Liverpool to be available for the night of 26th SeptemberDidn,t like Didn't like paying £139 to sleep in a attic room with 'no room to swing a cat' , and a bathroom virtually useless. Your question in this section is surely for complaints when you ask for what I didn't like

Staff was friendly and extremely obliging. Breakfasts were very good and the bed comfortable. Things "complained* of were addressed in good time. The lift was out of order but these things happen. There were a few things which had broken and this was a little irritating.E.G. Shower glass sliding door came loose and had to be held in place or the bathroom floor became wet. The shelf in the bathroom was sloped and therefore of no use. The shower should have a receptacle for soap, shampoo etc(I`m getting too old to bend!!!)The main drawback was the fact that the double bed took up so much of the room that it was not entirely easy to access the wardrobe or (one) cupboard. There needed to be more space.

Handy to city & purpose of our visit to settle our Son into University. Good breakfast & bar facilities. Staff very friendly. Room clean. Room was quite small & in roof no window to look out.Television in wrong place so impossible to watch in bed because wardrobe in the way. Rained all night so was a bit noisy on the velux windows. One of the guests woke us in the early hours of the morning shouting & using very abusive language to her partner, also doors were banging through the night.

The staff were extremely welcoming and polite. The room was very small (my husband actually joked that he would have to learn Yoga in order to use the toilet comfortably!) but clean and modern. Decor in general is excellent/superb in fact; don't let the old- fashioned outside put you off The surrounding area appears to be quite "rough", you wouldn't fancy going for a walk around outside but the centre of Liverpool is only a 5 minute taxi ride away, only costs about £4, hotel will get taxi for you. Breakfast was absolutely superb; fantastic service, lovely choice of food, champagne served at the table to start off Grand National Day in style! Overall a lovely hotel with lovely staff, the only drawback being it's location and the price;£185 for one night B&B was excessive but that was probably just because we were there for the Grand National, they will probably be a lot more reasonable at other times. Liverpool city Centre was fantastic, all the shopping you could want and plenty of nice places to eat.
