Everything else, especially the bed. Absolutely awful
Room very clean & has all facilities you would need. Nice & quiet (I did stay mid-week). Shower - fantastic! Handy for student areas. Bus literally on the doorstep - round the corner. Car park good & out of view. Car was safe overnight
Location - armed police presence to an incident unnerving. Not sure if a safe area - renowned for gang crime apparently. Bed lumpy. Mattresses need renewing.
location, own space, clean
Wifi wouldnt connect. More toilet roll needed. They didnt fill up!
Even though it was a budget price there was a fridge in the room. I really enjoyed my stay
The room was massive!! There was a bus stop just 2min down the road that went into the city centre. They had water bottles available. I liked that there was no key. I really liked my stay and would go back there!
I didn't get emailed the codes so when we turned up late we had no way of getting in. We called the number and the guy was very helpful. We weren't given the wifi password and the 3G was useless!! You could feel every spring in the bed.
Niose of doors banging and beds uncomfortable. Not value for money.WiFi poor connection so couldn't check work mail.
Cleanliness and quiteness
Not easy to memorise the location.
Excellent facilities, very clean and good location, near to bus stations.
WiFi signal very weak, didn't reach the room.
Cheapish, comfortable, modern in a DIY way! Door codes useful. Close to bus stops into centre. Quiet.
No staff on site. Not enough milk given and on asking I had to wait 12 hours till room cleaned for more. And then they only left few/3 or so tea bags! Towel rail not fitted well - kept falling to floor. No shelf/place for toiletries by sink or in shower. cramped en-suite. Found a hair in saucer. And large stain on bed cover. Had to phone reception to get wi-fi password and no one answered for a while. Simple to rectify by beech grove staff so why not leave info in the rooms!
It was very clean and comfortable
The code for the room didn't work so after waiting for 1/2 hour we left while they got in touch with the house keeper.no returning later about 10 we managed to get in. the tv did not work. then we were woken at 3.30 by youngsters out side the room shouting and eating toast, the evident the next morning toast on the floor and table.
Waking up to find us, our cars and belongings intact
The area! A lot of taxis wouldn't even take us back to the street
clean room. TV worked.
Did not find out until day before booking that there was no staff on site, we were already in UK. No phone in room. Had to call international to speak on cell phone to reach staff. Bed was awful. Bed felt like sleeping on box springs. Had to get 3 comforters for padding. No instructions for WiFi or password. After we got the code by calling international, WiFi only available in hallway, not in room as advertized. Bad neighborhood. Police said not to go out at night. Advertizing misleading. Take this property off your list. Advertizing misleading.
The kitchen facilities were a great bonus
I use this hotel in time of The Open so price was very good and hotel offer free room.
No wifi password, no restaurants and shops near by.
Everything that I needed for my overnight stay was provided. Bed was comfortable and room was clean.
very spacious room, secure parking, felt safe. would definitely recommend.
It is ok to be noticed some important informations for instance pass code to enter hotel, but if it was to be noticed by phone call as well, that would be greater!
The room was very clean and had fair facilities. The location was good for Sefton Park where we were visiting. There was no wi fi information. We had to ring to get codes to enter the building.
There was no wi fi information. The single beds pushed together were not acceptable or comfortable, especially for a room at £85 per night!
The suites are not where they are advertised
Secure I site parking and close to public transport.
The following is the letter I have sent the property owner and have not received a reply. I have waited a week to give him a chance to address the issues but he has obviously not deemed it important enough. Since you asked.......the positives, secure parking, close to transport links, quiet neighbourhood. The negatives, well where do I start? First was the wrong room code. The doors from the stairs (our room was #10) and also into our room were so heavy and on such tight springs that it was near impossible to hold luggage and the doors single handed. The kitchen door was the same which made carrying food and plates to the kitchen a one handed task. We popped some oil on your hinges as they squeaked and squarked so loud we thought with the doors slamming shut as well, it would disturb our neighbours. We could not open the fridge door as the bed was too close so moved the beds. The headboards are so loose that when you turn over in bed they bang. A piece of the heater cover fell off when I sat on the bed and we could feel the mattress springs. The kettle and tea things were placed in a position where there was no power point? We moved it on top of the fridge and had to unplug the TV to boil the kettle. The milk sachets were old and curdled our tea, used our own milk in the end. The bathroom is so small that you have to turn sideways to get to the toilet, close the door and you are in some trouble. The water pressure in the shower was almost non existent, probably the worst shower I have ever used. After struggling to get our food supplies into the kitchen through the doors we found that only one hot plate on the hob was working, and as I wiped down the sink I touched the end of the cupboard which fell off with a loud bang. There was nowhere to sit except on the bed to eat as there was only one seat in the room which presumably was meant for two people. The Wi Fi that was advertised was only available if we went downstairs, again through those awful doors.
They don't make it clear that you are not in the hotel, got there and got redirected miles away when our plans were built around the area. Supposed to have wi-fi, a password was listed on the hallway, tried every network (phoned them and they didn't even know which network it was, told me to try the one with the strongest reception!) and none of them worked. Then they actually told us we need a username for the openzone (which wasn't listed) and that didn't work either. Ended up making a hotspot on my phone. The Codes they gave us for the room and entrance were not correct, had to wait in front of the door while they were not picking up the phone. The mini-fridge top was dirty, oily. And since they have a whole building with a garden, they could've placed a bench! We sat on the ground whenever we went out for a smoke. And no ashtray to put out your cigarettes. No lights at the front door, had to use my phone's flash everytime i put in the codes since it was so dark.
Location and Warm Welcome
Can't give a review of staff as there were none at Grove Suites where we stayed. However, the whole booking process was really good, and I liked having codes to let ourselves in and out of the building. We could come and go at our leisure without having to drop keys/cards at a reception. I also liked not having to sign in at reception on arrival. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
No plug socket near coffee table, had to plug kettle in on the floor by the bed. No free plug socket for hairdryer by the mirror.
Nothing at all.
