evening meal only so-so.
vegetarian food on offer as well as other dietary requirements. Nice room. Close to train station. Friendly staff at breakfast.
Draft from window when sat on sofa. Bar meals a little pricey. Choice of radio station at breakfast.
I like the staff, they are very helpful and make you fell like home. The hotel is situate in a fantastic green area.
They did't have lift, to small tv with no possibility to move the scream to can see better from bed, they don't have air con, the single room is very little, the design is old fashion, the towels was verry used, the the shower have dirty door glass. The check out is to early 10 am.
good WiFi,clean rooms,everything worked,attentive staff,good facilities
bar food expensive
Very quiet location, we had a large comfortable room & bed. Clean, good size bathroom with lots of towels. Staff pleasant & very helpful. Ideal for our visit to family living in Birmingham.
Very friendly and clean. The food was very good also. The staff were very helpful.
It doesn't look like a hotel from the outside, more like an old hospital. The single room we booked needed updating
Just right for an overnight stop on the way to somewhere else. Breakfast good
Location as close to station and Cadburys World.
Stayed in a top room where there was no lift
Staff Breakfast Relaxed feeling Location to Cadburys World Village was a stunning location
Location if you want to visit bars was not good due to Bournville Village not having alcohol due to Quaker, but this was not a problem for us.
Staff friendly and helpful
Alot of noise from the rooms above
Quiet location with nice rooms
Breakfast was below average- we didn't bother the 2nd morning. I would prefer just bed rather than B+B
Young woman on reception
The whole place, staff particularly rude at breakfast, needs to be refurbished absoloutley awful place thank god it was only one night.
Quiet Superb location Free wifi in rooms Lounge/reception staff accommodating helpful and friendly.
Tired, basic boxlike room with smallest ensuite ever. Sour-faced staff in restaurant.
Restaurant has nice view onto gardens, lounge area was spacious and quiet while i was there, sandwich snacks were available after 11pm, staff were friendly.Bar was always open.
Have stayed here a coupple of times. Good , basic hotel. Breakfast tasty and plentiful. On arrival, the receptionist volunteered to swap our rooms for so that our daughter was in the next room and not the other side of the hotel. Very thoughtful. .
The chairs in the bar could do with a bit of a clean.
I liked the location and the surroundins were pleasant. There was ample parking. The food was good, and there were reasonable vegetarian options. The receptionist when we arrived was friendly and welcoming. By and large all the staff were pleasant. The room was a nice size. The shower was also a good size. The public areas were clean and smartly decorated with comfortable seating. Breakfasts were good and plentiful.
The room, although large, had a smallish bed. It was set up as a double room but only had one bedside table. I had to use a chair to put my glasses, book and water on. The toilet roll holder was held in place by gaffer tape! The restaurant was a vast unfriendly space with tables and chairs that could have graced a school canteen. The food was very slow - an hour - to arrive. At the bar there was sport playing loudly on the tv. Although we were the only people in there we were not asked if we wanted it off. Quite the opposite... most of the staff were standing around watching it, including the reception staff! They were in no hurry to serve drinks,on both nights. You need a new toaster. It took 10 minutes to make anaemic toast.
Bed to small only just enough room for 2 people bathroom to small. Shower head would not stay still when in the shower had to keep moving it back
Hotel was 1 of the best I have stayed in was perfect location too for the Cadbury world (reason for visit) very nice pleasant staff such a good run hotel breakfast was spot on.
Everything was perfect
No children with us nice and quite.
Evening meal was excellent quality and value
Unable to check in before 2pm and when we could check in we couldn't get a table in the restaurant before 8.15pm due to block bookings by Conferences. Nearest other restaurants are a mile away. At breakfast we had to move tables because the first one was sticky just basic tables with no table cloths. Basically this hotel caters for Conferences rather than tourists.
expensive bar Tatty dining furniture Waiter in suit and tie serving breakfast, old fashioned and impractical, why not have corporate polo shirt and dark trousers, much more hygenicand practical
My wife and I use the hotel regularly for business and have used it as a base for days out too. The hotel is not new but the staff are always very helpful and friendly. It's represents good value and is a good base for bournville and the surrounding areas.
Positive 'can do' reception and welcome. Friendly come as you please attitude once booked in. Great staff at dinner, very attentive and asked before taking stuff away.
Room a bit basic.Dinner was very high fat. No choice of very limited wine. No draught beer. Breakfast was very greasy and 1 tiny rasher of fatty bacon let you down. No bar near the banquet room.
