Liked the outlook from the rooms.Size of rooms was good & very nice shower. Good choice at breakfast.
In the main building the room was quite noisy.
Nice location, very friendly & helpful staff. The room was cold when we arrived but when we asked they quickly got us a heater.
The carpet hadn't been hoovered very well, there were several long dark hairs around the room
Very pleasant location with fantastic facilities. Spotlessly clean. Staff very welcoming and efficient.
Bed was a bit small, but such a minor issue in terms of value for money.
Good location for Cadbury world users. Quiet location in the city.
Uncomfortable mattress on standard double. There was hardly any variety on the food menu.
Good sized clean room, comfy bed. Nice hot breakfast. Will be staying again next year.
I think the walls are a little thin.
Everthong was ptetty average!
No draught beer at the bar - only lager. Bar server who also served at lunch, breakfast and bar meals needs serious staff training. She lacks personality, appears totally bored with the job and clearly has not been trained in customer service - and that's being kind!
Ideal for attending a function at rowheath pavillion. Good breakfast
Why only one bedside cabinet? Had to use a chair.
Very welcoming. Rooms were spacious and clean. Breakfast very good with attentive staff. Great value for money.
Costing & location were good
Evening menu was limited
Convenience and functionality
Noisy water tank and disinterested bar tender
We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity away from the city centre, yet it was close enough for other attractions
We had no dislikes I would say that there is some decorating going on at the moment but it never caused any problems to the quests
The Staff The Food The Location
Asking through booking .com for requests and no body reads them
Spread out in its large grounds, mostly ground floor rooms. You could sit out in the gardens for some peace and quiet. Excellent breakfasts, with terrific attention from the staff.
The breakfast was good.
Didn't service the room on the final day as "someone called in sick" - really! The room was very basic. No comfy chairs or sofas. The TV was small and mounted high on the wall miles from the bed. No chest of drawers. No faceclothes. Minimal toiletries , we had to ask for more. Bed was 'hard'. No tissues in the room. This used to be cadburys conference centre for training people and it still retains that institutional feel. Not a hotel in the usual meaning of the word. The room numbering system needs an overhaul. Every hotel I've ever stayed in has the floor level as the prefix on the room number. Not here. All mixed up. Had to go up and down stairs continually. Very strange system. Sound attenuation between the rooms was terrible, woken at 04:30 one morning by the couple next door have very noisy sex!
the staff were all friendly & the place was immaculately clean & the food was first class
unable to turn heating off despite it being middle of summer but they resolved the situation by putting a fan into the room
Lovely room, clean, spacious, well lit, comfortable bed and a window that opened. Excellent, quiet location. Friendly, helpful, caring staff. Good quality breakfast in attractive restaurant.
A lovely setting on the Bournville estate
Staff friendly and helpful.
room very small and very hot as no air conditioning.
Generally good value for money
On the whole the staff were excellent except for one young bar staff member who on two occasions ignored me standing at the bar and I had to speak loudly to him to get his attention, and he was very reluctant to serve me on both occasions because he was busy closing the till down even though it was only 10.00 on one occasion and 10.30 on the other.
The room, very spacious, large shower. Excellent breakfast
Due to spacious room, the tv is very small for the room so cannot see from the bed.
The staff were helpful and friendly. The service was at a high standard
The room (104) was quite cramped and the walls were very thin!! The television in the room next door was easily heard (and was not at a high volume). There was no hot water in the sink or shower, and the shower control was jammed. The placement of things in the room was not well thought through in that the light on the wall over the bed had been placed low and so it was easy to bang your head when sitting up in bed, and the glass shelf over the sink in the bathroom was placed low and it was difficult to get your hands under it to turn taps on/off
Arrived at about 1.30am and the night staff were attentive and well organised. Very impressive. Any requests were dealt with in a very timely way.
Lack of "Do Not Disturb" notice for the door :)
staff very helpful and freindly - room spacious and airy. food was better than we expected
our room was on the top floor, up winding stairs - lift only went to the first floor. There was a porter and we should have thought to ask to have a room on a lower floor
1 - The staff were nice and helpful. 2 - The room (117) was lovely and spacious and it was nice to have the dual aspect windows which helped cool the room down 3 - The shower was lovely with a double action shower head which was easy to regulate the temperature, the cubicle was lovely and roomy due to its size (rectangular) 4 - the double bed was comfy and I slept like a log but I would have wanted it to have been bigger if I had had to share it 5 - When it was nice and quiet (kitchen extractor turned off) it was a lovely room
1 - I asked for a quiet room but this room had the kitchen extractor below its windows which turned on between 6.30am-7am and turned off between 9.30-10pm. It would have been nice to sit in the evening with a bit of peace and quiet at the end of my day. This is why I have said it is 'fair' for value for money, if the extractor fan wasn't there I would have scored it 'Good' 2 - The room was soo hot due to it being up in the roof and the lovely weather we were having I had to have the windows open therefore noisy with the kitchen extractor and if I watched TV had to have the volume up high to be able to hear it 3 - There wasn't a lift to the floor of my room so I had to ask for someone to help with my bag. I would rather have not had to ask for help as I had to wait for someone to be found to help me. I have a bad back and going up and down those stairs very day was a killer for me but I didn't have a choice. 4 - I would have liked to have had the option of putting a sign on the door to stop anyone coming in to clean like Premier Inn do, I had the option to recycle towels but not cleaning so I felt I couldn't leave things lying around as I would have liked.
The location. It is very peaceful and quiet. Not very far from Cadbury World
Some staff are not very friendly
