Score from 506 reviews Excellent
The wifi signal was very poor across the whole of the hotel, The first bedroom i was given was smaller than a shoe box and the walls were paper thin, the second room i was moved to had not been cleaned since the guest before, the bed was unmade and there were still wet towels on the bathroom floor, The third room (a superior room) was the same as most standard rooms i have stayed at in other hotels. Breakfast starts at 7am unless you want hot food that's 7.30am as informed by the waitress on the morning.
clean and bright lounge and bar. sandwiches of ham and tomato niclely presented and served
room situated in annexe. no prior warning. food in main restaurant not very appealing, burger of poor quality and trio of sausage and mash no flavor to it.
hotel good value for money
It's a bit drafty sash windows
Food was excellent. Bar and dining area were good.
The hotel is a conference centre style hotel so Sundays the hotel is closed until 15-30. They did inform me by email about this but not at the time of booking. I was working at Cadburys and finished at 13-00 and had to wait outside for 21/2 hrs. I would have booked a different hotel if I had know this.
Location, food looked good but didn't eat here. Guy on receiption was very helpful and booked a taxi for us from train station.
Constant noise throught the night, experienced by all 4 people in our party (we had 4 single rooms) We hardly slept, sounded like the plumbing, or pipes but was every half hour at least, worst night I've had in a hotel for sleep. One of our group had a suspicious looking brown stain on the bedsheets, we reported this to receiption but no offer of a refund, free food or anything at all.
Staff are always welcoming
Getting to sleep
Room was the size of a single bed, toilet blocked
On arrival at 9.05pm and after checking in, I was told that food service had finished at 9pm. I asked for a sandwich and was told that the best they could offer was a dessert. After a very long day, and with no transport to go out for food, this was very unsatisfactory.
Basic. Overpriced, IMHEO, but everything in and around Birmingham is, so in that respect, value for money. Decent breakfst.
Not being able to control the heating, although the in-room booklet said you could. Eventually reception found me a portable heater - they were really good in persisting in trying to locate one and thoroughly apologetic and explained what the delay was. For that I do not fault them. But I got it round about when I didn't need it any more.
The shower !
Very comfortable stay, staff very helpful, lovely breakfast served promptly and plenty of it and free parking. Will definetely return next year
Food was very poor chunky chip's only half cooked breakfast cooked to much in advance hash brown's not even cooked
Spotlessly clean Everything we needed in room and lots of space
Finding the room - the building is a labyrinth The bed was not king size
I stayed for a interview of Mondelez and forgot to take my shirt, while the dress code for next day is business. the chef kindly offered his shirts to me, I was so moved and quite satisfied with the service there.
The bar food is much improved since I last visited and I enjoyed my meal. Staff were very friendly.
I couldn't access the internet as there was a problem on the evening I visited. The room and bathroom were very small.
nice room very roomy also evening staff very nice meal very good also breakfast very good
very unhelpfull receptionist she said no food available but when we asked resturant staff they said food was available also very cold everywhere windows very draughty
Large rooms, excellent price, large car park. Location is great if you have a car, otherwise may be trickier to get to.
A bit of a maze to navigate owing to the building, but well signposted throughout.
Great price, Clean warm room, nice bar and food, very friendly staff. Nice and quiet. Would defiantly go back again.
Location Price Cleanliness Facility Comfort
Toilet flush button did not work properly and I had to open the lid and press manually.
Really nice place a good part of Birmingham , excelent b+b if we go to that Birmingham area that's the beeches are for us
Only thing was my partner thought the heating was a bit warm during the night but I didn't think of turning a urging down next time I'll look for controls . Better to be warm than cold
I've stayed at this hotel last year on my own and found it really quiet and relaxing, this year I went back and requested the same room which was no problem. I was studying for an exam and it was perfect for me and just 5 mins from where I needed to be. The staff are extremely helpful whatever your needs. I would definitely stay again if I'm in the same area.
Very pleasant staff, very clean and comfortable room. Freshly cooked breakfast was excellent.
A maze of corridors to reach the room
near to the hospital we were visiting, this is the second time we've stayed there.
Very helpful and friendly staff. Pleasant and quiet location. Quiet room in an annex Tasty breakfast
Nothing of note
