Food was not outstading.
every thing about the the Beech Hill was bril, wish we could stayed longer. 10 out of 10
Super atmosphere Breakfast Grounds of hotel
I liked the friendliness of the staff, they were very courteous and helpful. I like hotels wit character, and this hotel had it in abundance. The owner Patsy, was very warm and welcoming and I look forward to staying in Bill Clintons room the next time I go to Derry
Dinner was lovely, the room was big , warm and comfortable. Reception staff was very nice and helpful giving us directions.
the bathroom in the "superior" room : tiny shower where you could barely turn around and with nowhere to put down the shower gel/shampoo. Bathtub in the room itself is cool but impractical (you have to close the curtains in the whole room for 1 guest to take a bath) .
We spent a very relaxing few days.
Building, settings and staff, food is also great.
The grounds were stunning. The hotel like your home in the country. Everything we wanted after a day exploring the beautiful countryside of NI
A shame that there aren't more of these in NI !!!
Receptionist was very friendly & efficient. Bar has nice relaxing atmosphere. Very comfortable bed and picturesque grounds.
Room was swarming with flies upon arrival unfortunately with a few dead flies around the room, poor first impression which cancelled out superb greeting from receptionist. No staff member present when we arrived for breakfast, we seated ourselves and took quite a while for anyone to arrive and take our order, another couple arrived shortly after us and again they stood around and eventually seated themselves. Bedroom felt dated and rough around the edges in several places. Decided to stay here upon reading positive reviews and getting local recommendations but didn't leave sharing same opinion. Unlikely to return or recommend.
Staff were soooo attentive & very keen to please. Sheer relaxation nestled @ the open ( gas ) fire. All needs/ requirements can be met here. Grounds beautiful. Location ideal..... Close to City yet secluded. ALL staff megga friendly & keen to assist. Lighting in the bedroom could be improved on. Will definitely return.
Nothing to report !
The whole place has a very distinguished feel to it. We were in the annex, very modern and clean. The dining room was excellent. Would certainly stay here again.
In the old section of the house there was a musty smell but the original house is from the 1800
The place and the staff are terriffic
All the grace and charm of an olde world establishment with great staff, excellent food and convenient location. The historical context was well presented and insightful. Also had one or two famous guests to stay such as Bill and Hillary Clinton which added further interest.
Was not a swish modern facility, but the lack of such conveniences as lifts and air conditioning was more than compensated for by its setting, grand decor and wonderful gardens.
Great restaurant with a great chef! Interesting history with wonderful trails to walk. Just a short drive to Derry.
Quiet Area Fantastic breakfast Friendly service Nice surrounds if you want to go for a short walk
Big mosquitoes in the room (window open) Slightly damp feel, but then it was very damp outside too.
The location was perfect. Just outside the city but only a £5 cab ride into town-garden setting-lovely bar, restaurant and sitting room. The staff were so helpful-breakfast was quite delicious
Everything, couldn't fault the place..
Beautiful setting, excellent food, nice atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff
nothing to dislike
The owner and staff were very hands on and attentive to our needs!
Derry is just an OK city.
Based 10 minutes from downtown Derry lovey peaceful place to stay. Helpful friendly staff that made the night there special.
The lift was a tad old and slow.
Bathroom needed updating
The welcome, the size and quality of the room, the fact it is Michelin recommended with the consequent quality of the restaurant. The history of the place is absolutely fascinating. Well done to the hotel for remembering those brave US Marines so well. If the place is good enough for the 3 Kennedy brothers, Bill Clinton and family and John Kerry and wife, it's good enough for us!
The food was excellent, as were the staff. We had a beautiful room. My only regret was that I didnt take more time to delve into the history of the hotel. This was my own fault as there were great displays available.
Location as we were attending a wedding
