the freedom to come and go as we liked we had keys to all outside doors so we did not have to ask for doors to be opened when we came back staff was helpful could not have done any more for us 10 out of 10 thankyou
It was cheap, convenient and the pub had history and character. Friendly staff and good breakfast. the pub was in the process of changing hands and they plan to do some much needed work to spruce it up.
The new owners are inheriting a few years a neglect. The place needed a damn good clean and a lick of paint, comfortable beds, new curtains, towels and some soap in the bathroom. Easy things to rectify once they are in ownership.
history and related history to my family
noise from pub opposite
Andy the owner runs a great Pub
Priced for a clean and pleasant stay.
Comfortable bed & friendly landlord. Good breakfast. Excellent value for money & right in the heart of town.
The staff were great
There was NO hot water in the morning. The windows were rotting, and the general cleanliness was fairly poor!
Very central location for my visit to Grantham. Friendly people, good pub with real ale. Room was clean and quiet with comfortable bed. Good value for money.
Location was good
Bed was very uncomfortable. Toilet kept backing up and did make the bathroom smell. No shower just a bath.
Great value, clean, friendly, warm, plenty of hot water, all the basics, don't go if you want posh, cos it ain't, it's not pretending to be either. We would go back there.
Naff IPA on draught
Very little, although the host/barman was pleasant.
Location of room - I thought we were going to a toolshed. Bed - individual bedsprings were pushing the sheet up - extremely uncomfortable. Only one tiny handtowel & one small bathtowel between two people - the towels were ragged. The toilet seat was falling off. The shower stayed on cold unless the tap was closed down to a slow flow-rate. The room was barely big enough for twin beds. On arrival, the barman had to step out into the hallway to be heard over the VERY loud music in the bar. I seldom complain about a room, but this one was bad.
The Owner was welcoming and helpful, especially with a very heavy suitcase. Comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities.
A bit chilly, as no heating was apparent, but maybe I was a bit sensitive as just arrived from Malaysia in tropical heat!
Good honest cheap accommodation with no frills, you get what you pay for. Good breakfast.
Cold shower, but it woke me up
