“ I booked the beehive as I was on a training course about ½ mile away. The room was comfortable with tv and ensuite. My breakfast was made a little earlier than the set 9am (this was a Sunday) so I could be ontime for my course. Would stay again. ”

One of the oldest pubs in Grantham, the Beehive Inn dates back to the 16th century and is named for the living beehive in the tree outside. At the Beehive Inn you will find a wide selection of real ales, lagers and affordable food. The TV shows sporting events and there is a garden for warmer weather. Since at least 1830 there has been a hive of bees in a lime tree above the pub's sign. This unique feature has protected status from the local council. Inn: 4 rooms , Hotel Chain: HK Taverns. Unfortunately it's not possible to make reservations for this hotel at this time. GeneralBar, Non-smoking Rooms, All Spaces Non-Smoking (Public and Private)

My sister and I needed somewhere to stay near Belvoir Castle as we were doing a Triathlon there on Sunday morning with a 6.30am start. The hotel staff were happy to let us check in late on Saturday and leave early on Sunday. Best of all we were allowed to return to our room after the event to use the shower - a Godsend as we had swum through a lake! Staff were polite, friendly and most accomodating to our needs. The accomodation was very basic but clean and comfortable - we got a good night's sleep which was the important thing. Many thanks to the lovely bar-girl who made our brief visit the pleasure it was. Water pressure in the shower was rather dismal!

We did not like this place. It was dirty, unkempt and lacking in the basics of a decent bed and breakfast. The room was up a back yard of the worst imaginable, behind an old fashioned, non-maintained pub. The ensuite was a 'wet room', but with no shower curtain and no cleaning it was disgusting. We were going on holiday from here and had booked to stay on our return - but cancelled it after tolerating the one night. Photographs were taken and can be shared.

Both of the staff members I met were friendly and helpful The Room:it was tired, worn and looked out on a chimney. There was no chair, no bedside table, no bedside lamps and the towels were grey and washed out. Worst of all there was no hot water in the shower when I needed it.

This accommodation is in an original old Inn and as such is located above the pub with low ceilings etc that you would expect in this type of accommodation. We felt it was good value for money and really enjoyed our stay. The bed mattresses were firm and the room was adequate size. As long as you are happy in typical old style bed and breakfast accommodation you will be fine. The bathroom did not have a shower but there was always plenty hot water and the bath did not take long to fill. The room had a very unique feature, in that the old beehive (still occupied), was in the tree immediately outside our window.
