It would be more aurate to describe it as a hostel rather than a hotel. It is not cheap considering the rooms and buildings in general are in a poor state of repair and suffering from damp. On the plus side the bedding was clean anthe staff were polite. There was no receptionist at reception. The room smelt of damp, the shower was leaking and as a result had a large mould infestation. The electric heater in the room was damaged and was lying on the floor which if used would have been dangerous. I wouldn't recomend this place to a family but would say it is ok as a last resort to purely get your head down.

Only thing we liked about the hotel was the fact that our room had been refurbished within the last 5 years. Excellent location but in the right hands has a million times more potential than it does. We didnt like a lot, whole perception of hotel was lost on entering the 'site'. Actually drove past it as it looks nothing like the website pics. Looked derilect with 2 crater sized pot holes on entering carpark. Building needs revamping, looked shabby and paint had probably been done about 100 yrs ago. Seating area outside needs replacing big time, everything faded and dull or had more holes in than a collander and all plants were dead. Reception area stank of mould and gone off jos sticks. No one there so had to go to bar. Got served by a scruffy lady who needed a bath and had no interest in customer service, Same lady worked everywhere in the hotel except cooking and cleaning. Whole building need a revamp, 40's decor and carpet looked like it had been used in a mechanics garage,.family lounge is what it was, family lounge for the family, very uncomfortable with there whole family watching you as if you shouldnt be there. Family cat liked to stray into kitchen and onto dining tables. Very unhygienic. Main lounge door was closed 2 out of three days, didnt stay 3rd day, decided to go home. Wish id read the reviews first, The only time I would go there again is to buy the hotel from them cheap and renovate. But then again it would cost too much and the health authorities would have closed it down before I had the chance. I went camping day after I got home and I was more comfortable sleeping and eating this way than I was at this so called hotel. Booking.com need to listen, remove this 'hotel' from your database unless stated 'avoid at all cost' As for booking.com, its not your fault, brilliant service and confirmation, everything you would expect from a reputable company. Thank you

The best part of the stay was the location. it is very close to folly farm which is ideal for our children. also very close to the beaches and other attractions. The lodges outside the hotel which is where we were placed as a" family room" are in dire need of refurbishment. The basic items sink shower sheets were clean but skirting boards, curtains were covered in inches of dust. The kettle was filthy, light did not work in 1 room, door did not lock very well.generally tired and run down and fousty smelling. Also beware of dirty cereal dishes, i had a job to find a clean one one morning, which was a shame as breakfast itself was okay.

I will say the staff are polite and helpfull, we had cooked breakfast which was dry and only luke warm, but they have a full selection of cereals and juices, we had double room and air bed for our 7 yr old child, which was a headache start to finish we had 2 different airbeds which was both punctured, so we didnt have much sleep. And the shower was dirty wiv mold around the bath and glass, and the carpet was all stained all in all wish I didnt choose this hotel and for the price they charge per night it was a real disappointment.

Secluded location * Makeup foundation stains on the bedsheets on arrival * dirty stained towels that were supposedly "clean" * wasn't told that cleaner would arrive at 10am, after we had gone out for the day the cleaner didnt come back. stil had dirty bed sheets and towels, had to go to the bar and ask for more towels and had no more tea or coffee left to drink in the room.

My husband, one year old baby and I stayed at Begelly Arms originaly for five nights,we had such a brilliant time here we decided to stay an extra night, the staff were so friendly and had no problem booking us in for an extra night.a travel cot was waiting in our room for our baby.the room was very nice, shower lovely.family room lovely,my husband and I were able to let our baby crawl about freely, good value for money, food was outstanding,we played bingo on wednesday, very full, bit of luck too.there is no karaoke no more which we were a bit upset about but they had a good singer on saturday.my husband and I would like to thank Cheryl and Debbie and all the staff for an unforgetable holiday.so funny and friendly.Caleb still hasn't said Debbie though.haha. The only problem we found was the tv in our room was very small,

Nice lady greeted us on arrival and wished us a nice stay in Wales . Carpark was a terrible sight ... Old park benches.. Disgarded boat.. Shopping trolley... Facilities in general disrepair ... A piece of foam cut to size used as the double mattress for bunkbed .... Smell of mildew... Kettle wired directly into the wall at child level beside the bunk .... Couldn't find any one to check out ... Pub empty ... Chef walked off and ignored me.... Nice lady finally appeared to help after 20mins
