Loud traffic noise from the busy road, an uncomfortable bed and a window that did not close properly meant very little sleep (Room 317) Shower water did not drain away quickly enough so I had to stop the shower (while on holiday) to prevent the room from flooding. The mug in the room for tea/coffee still had coffee stains from the previous guest and there was no remote control for the TV.
Key to occupied room given - entered someone else's room by mistake. Lampshade light flickered and had to ask to get it changed. Staff seemed busy and had to wait to be served. Then had to return and queue again bcz of issue with key.
Fact that there was a small stream of water behind the hotel.
The hotel rooms are very basic and sparton (but they are clean), this wasn't a problem for me the hotel looks like in some areas it could do with some paint
Very good price for a place if you're just looking for somewhere to sleep to let you explore Edinburgh. All the basics are included; also very good free wi-fi Staff friendly and welcoming
Hohe parkgebühren, Baustellenflair
Beds were only 2 foot 9 rather than three feet - too small
Restaraunt closed. Workers all over place including in bar area drinking.
breakfast was lovely
The floors in the rooms were filthy - not just a bit dirty - they looked like they hadn't been hoovered or washed in months. The management were aware this has apparently been an issue for a while. Breakfast (a free gift to apologise for our poor room) had potential but was tepid.
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent.
The breakfast was horrible
Great value for money and lovely staff
No TV remote, room not cleaned during stay, no milk or biscuits, no telephone in room, un-helpful staff!
The beds were extremely comfortable and on top of that they were broken. I booked a double bed room and what I got was two broken single beds that weren't even and in the middle of the night there was a big crack noise.
The location is ok because you're closer to the west end and city centre so plenty of places to go and visit by foot.
All hotel is rubbish
Lack of lemonade for mixers.
Staff were very friendly. Rooms bright and warm. Good beds.
That is a little far from the city centre. The beds were not very clean below, but rest was OK. Staff was not very friendly or attentive, but when asked they help.
The facilities, there's a river next to the rooms which makes it peaceful. I liked the room size, the restaurant and the bed was very confortable. Had a good sleep.
the rooms were not cleaned nd vaccumed
stayed four 2 night room not cleaned bins not cleaned and bed not made no clean towels
Bedding was inadequate, ground floor room cold and noisy.
Staff were all very friendly and very helpful. Large room. Cheaper than other hotels.
We did face a bad experience on one Saturday early morning when the guy from the next door entered our room with his room access card. Luckily, I was awake and I asked him to leave as I believe he was drunk & nude. Yes, he was naked but before my fiancee could get up, I had already asked him to leave, which made me a little upset. But the question is, how did he get our room access in his card? We reported it to the reception later but probably they couldn't get in touch or take any action on that. I guess something could have been done on that as they didn't have any answer on how that room card had access to our room.
Initially we were given a road side facing window room and no bath tub even though we had requested. But we immediately got changed to a better room which had a lovely view of the stream and it had a bath tub too. The staff was friendly but somehow we missed the room phone service. We missed a taxi since we were a couple of minutes late. Ideally, we would have expected the reception to check with us. Otherwise, the room was good with proper bed, cleanliness maintained and WiFi was good too.
Liked the location & the excellent service. My room was super.
this place doesn't allow you to leave your luggage after or before check out... so if you don't want to drag your luggage around the city, you have to find another hotel and pay them to keep you luggage
Booked 2 twin rooms and were given 1 double room. Double room was horrible as it is in the lower ground (undergound!), hot, stuffy and no windows at all! Asked for a change but there's no other room available. Website states there's luggage storage but the receptionist says there isnt Price paid wasnt worth it and the hotel shouldnt be 3 stars as well.
Very difficult to get parked, when i asked at reception i was told it would cost me to pay and i had to use the meter outside. £5 for 24 hours, reception had no change so i had to get back in my car and drive to find a petrol station open where i could get change. so i lost my parking space and had to park in a very risky place. very very disappointed as I had just finished a long drive and just wanted my bed
The Hotel was good for somewhere to put your head down for the night
Spring in bed about to pop through. Board on bath dropping off.
It was short
she said that there was no place to keep baggage and the day after we have seen people leaving their baggage there. We had to go around with our bags on until 3pm
Room not cleaned. Very untidy hotel in general.
After 2 different room changes we finally got a decent sized room.
