quite friendly staff although we did have to wait for 2 hours to book in.
pubic hairs all over bath, rubbish under sink in bathroom, stains on walls and ceilings, stains on bed covers and sheets, cheap tea and coffee, window would not shut.
On arrival 4 members were standing at the main entrance smoking. Members of staff at reception and a housekeeper discussing other members of staff and organising their holiday rotas. The person who checked us in was unfriendly, seemed bored and had no interest in what he was doing. The room was extremely disappointing with damp walls, paint peeling off the ceiling and an uncomfortable bed which dipped into the middle.
I didn't like any thing about this hotel
Every thing i didn't like wasn't clean entrance door was damaged Staff was poor
Good location for where I was working
Had to have room changed twice once due to faulty tv and the second time due to lack of cleanliness
Drawer door absent. Bed sheets looked like they had been thrown on
Location was ok
Rooms where dirty and very bad facilities and no wardrobe
Amazingly lovely staff
Room decor bed flooring almost everything
Traffic noise woke me several times. Room overlooked road. I have stay several times before and other rooms overlooked the river or carpark where is was very quiet.
The location was brilliant, not far from shops etc.
The cleanliness of the room was poor, cups dirty, cobwebs etc. One of the lights above the bed was broke. No coat hangers in the wardrobe so unable to hang clothes that needed to be hung up. Window wouldn't close properly so there was a constant draft. The radiator didn't start to heat up properly until our last night at the hotel.
Bathrooms need repair.
nothing with the Britannia hotel just seeing family I stayed out all day forced to go back to that hotel just to try and sleep which was imposable with all the drunks and lack of duty managers two 19 young men where the only ones left at the hotels desk all night to look after 500 guest One couple had no bed for there 4 year old son the dad had to sleep on the floor never send me anything again
V basic. Room could have been better decorated lot's of Mark's on walls so looked dirty. Didn't refill tea/coffee condiments tray.
How close it was into town
Un helpful staff, tv or wifi didnt work in room
Free wifi and possibility of breakfast
Small tv, and not vacuumed room
My experience was enjoyable. We had a newly decorated room (ground floor) which was clean, had a tv and tea/coffee making facilities. If you're on a budget and don't mind a 15-20 minute walk to Prince's Street this is the hotel for you.
I couldn't fault my stay, but everytime I went to reception there was someone complaining. I noticed I paid more than some people (£59 per night for a double inside room - no window). Perhaps I may have been allocated a nicer room because of that?
Parking on the road outside the hotel is free. Staff insist you need to pay £5 per 24 hours. I asked a local resident in the flats.
Price charged staff attitude paying in a private car park 5 pounds per day
Good location. Close to Edinburgh's centre. Relatively cheap.
For a lower ground room: No window. Building debris in the bathroom. One light bulb for two table lamps (!?) No wifi reception. Not very comfortable beds. No phone in the room. Staff not very helpful (however polite).
Despite undergoing refurbishment, the room was tidy and cleaned daily, towels were changed and the stay was quiet and peaceful. Food was basic and satisfactory.
Nothing at all
The room had no window. Very noisy. Building debris everywhere. Bed uncomfortable. Bath tiny.
This more of a hostel than a hotel
Reasonably priced for the area
Check location - good 30min walk out of central Edinburgh. Mouldy bathroom ceiling. Poor housekeeping. Dated, not looked after.
Simple little hotel room for young couple to sleep in whilst exploring the city.
Staff could have been friendlier but on the whole they did their jobs.
