The comfort and atmosphere with alot of thought having gone into trying to meet most needs made this an ideal place to relax in after a busy day of work. Chosing to stay 15 miles out of the city where l was working gives the opportunity to unwind and enjoy the surroundings and personal attention being offered. The selection for breakfast and supplies of endless drinks during the stay would put many other" Hotels"to shame.

The hosts are extremely hospitable and friendly, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is a true pleasure as is the evening meal. A quiet and relaxing place to stay, beautiful church opposite and country pub next door. It is only minutes away from Axminster, Chard and Honiton.

Our hosts, Neil and Sarah-Jane were excellent and made us feel very welcome. A wide choice for breakfast which was very good indeed. Dinner was '5 star'! There is really no point in going out to eat when the standard of food would be a match of any restaurant in London! We will return at some point.

The character of the Hotel and the lovely breakfast prepared and served by the owners. The fact that the hotel was not able to provide us with an evening meal without having been given at least 24hours notice and there being a complete lack of decent eating establishments within walking distance of the hotel caused a problem for us during the evening of arrival.

Beautiful b and B. Great attention to detail. Comfortable beds....I Over slept! L'Occitane tolietries. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful location. If you don't eat at the b and b and it's a Monday when the pub over the road is closed it is a long way to go out for food.

Delightful hosts, warm welcome, and extraordinarily good food. We have stayed here before and had a wonderful room. This time we took the only room available, (Shelley), which was perfectly ok in itself, but smaller. The only negative comment would be about the mattress on the twin beds, which I think need renewing! Apart from that we love the The Belfry, and would certainly stay again.

Room was lovely and had lots of nice little touches - such as nice toiletries, free bottled water, quality tea & coffee and also fresh milk and fresh juice in a fridge along the hall. I must just mention the breakfast - I had the best scrambled eggs I have ever tasted!

The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The room was nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, although we weren't able to try the restaurant as it was closed the night we stayed. The L'Occitane products were a nice touch as was the pillow mist. The shower curtain in the bathroom should be replaced with a shower screen. The curtain wrapped around you and made for a very claustrophobic shower experience plus every time you reached for the shower gel/shampoo, you had to rustle around in the curtain. The bathroom seemed substandard in comparison to the lovely room. The toilet flush didn't work very well either, you had to push it down several times.

Our room was extremely comfortable with little extra touches added such as L'octaine bathroom products, several choices of tea, coffee & luxury biscuits in the room and lovely feather pillows & duvet on a very comfortable kingside bed. The evening meal if required is freshly cooked to order from a regularly changed menu using all local products and expertly cooked. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Belfrey, but it definitely will not be the last. The rooms are light and comfortable and really clean, the proprieters are friendly and welcoming, the location is really quiet and relaxing which is just what we want, and the food is unquestionably the best I have ever tasted, beautifully cooked and presented, both at dinner and breakfast. We cannot praise it highly enough

Lovely hotel in a beautiful location. The owners are friendly and go out of their way to make your stay a comfortable one. The breakfast was excellent using locally sourced produce. What's special about this hotel are the little touches - coffee and delicious cake offered on arrival, help-yourself apple & orange juices, fresh milk in the fridge downstairs and a relaxing essential oils spray for the pillows to help you have a good night's sleep. And I love the L'Occitane toiletries in the bathroom !
