Wonderful stay at a wonderful hotel! Rooms comfortable, exquisite food freshly prepared to an incredibly high standard. Attentive but not intrusive owners who make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. This was our second stay and definitely won't be our last!

Neil & Sarah-Jane were very nice people, we were met by Neil and offered tea / coffee & cake before being shown to our room. Unfortunately it was not the one we booked due to a burst pipe in the bathroom. The room we were given (Keats) was very nice with lived up to the description. As it was a Tuesday the restaurant was closed (which we knew before booking) so we ate in the pub, the Yarcombe Arms, immediately opposite. While the pub is quaint and rustic, the food was excellent and extremely good value for money. Many option for breakfast but we opted for the traditional hot English which was very tasty and well cooked by Sarah-Jane. All in all a great place and one we will stay in again when in the area.

Awesome. We felt special and welcomed. The food was excellent and the attention to detail amazing. Nothing was too much for the owners. If you need to be on a gluten free diet you will grim from ear to ear throughout your stay... as will anybody on a normal diet. We will return!!

I only live a few miles down the road, but felt like I was in a haven. The hospitality was amazing right from the start. The room I had was Keats. Quiet, spacious, big shower head! And deep bath. Lovely products to use aswell. Everything from extra heaters or fan to cool down was provided. Also a soothing mist to spray on your pillow before bed was provided!! The food was 6 star in my opinion. Everywhere clean, warm and inviting. I only came for a night away and I would recommend to anyone! I will most definately be back! :)

Loved the welcoming, friendly atmosphere. The teamwork of the proprietors and their fantastic culinary skills and attention to making guests at home is commendable .Loved the fact that it is a building of historical interest [an old school] retaining many super features and that it plays an important part of the village life at Yarcombe. The room was extremely comfortable and we had a terrific sleep in an amazingly comfortable bed. A great place to stay for business, for relaxation and as a central place amid the exceptionally beautiful hills. We highly recommend the Belfry and shall definitely return again.

A standout choice in the area. Extremely comfortable. Scrupulously clean. Great attention to detail. Friendly proprietors. Recieved an introductory & very informative email very shortly after booking with details about the Belfry & lots of local information with web links. Greeted with coffee & cake on arrival. The owners generously provide a list of local restaurants & pubs, but I would recommend any visitor to try Sarah-Jane's cooking in the restaurant at least once. The restaurant is small, intimate, & her food is superb - freshly cooked, local ingredients, beautifully prepared & presented.

The hosts are extremely hospitable and friendly, the rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is a true pleasure as is the evening meal. A quiet and relaxing place to stay, beautiful church opposite and country pub next door. It is only minutes away from Axminster, Chard and Honiton.

Our hosts, Neil and Sarah-Jane were excellent and made us feel very welcome. A wide choice for breakfast which was very good indeed. Dinner was '5 star'! There is really no point in going out to eat when the standard of food would be a match of any restaurant in London! We will return at some point.

The character of the Hotel and the lovely breakfast prepared and served by the owners. The fact that the hotel was not able to provide us with an evening meal without having been given at least 24hours notice and there being a complete lack of decent eating establishments within walking distance of the hotel caused a problem for us during the evening of arrival.

Beautiful b and B. Great attention to detail. Comfortable beds....I Over slept! L'Occitane tolietries. Lovely breakfast. Beautiful location. If you don't eat at the b and b and it's a Monday when the pub over the road is closed it is a long way to go out for food.

Delightful hosts, warm welcome, and extraordinarily good food. We have stayed here before and had a wonderful room. This time we took the only room available, (Shelley), which was perfectly ok in itself, but smaller. The only negative comment would be about the mattress on the twin beds, which I think need renewing! Apart from that we love the The Belfry, and would certainly stay again.

Room was lovely and had lots of nice little touches - such as nice toiletries, free bottled water, quality tea & coffee and also fresh milk and fresh juice in a fridge along the hall. I must just mention the breakfast - I had the best scrambled eggs I have ever tasted!

The owners were very welcoming and friendly. The room was nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, although we weren't able to try the restaurant as it was closed the night we stayed. The L'Occitane products were a nice touch as was the pillow mist. The shower curtain in the bathroom should be replaced with a shower screen. The curtain wrapped around you and made for a very claustrophobic shower experience plus every time you reached for the shower gel/shampoo, you had to rustle around in the curtain. The bathroom seemed substandard in comparison to the lovely room. The toilet flush didn't work very well either, you had to push it down several times.

The owners were most accommodating and couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Our room was extremely comfortable with little extra touches added such as L'octaine bathroom products, several choices of tea, coffee & luxury biscuits in the room and lovely feather pillows & duvet on a very comfortable kingside bed. The evening meal if required is freshly cooked to order from a regularly changed menu using all local products and expertly cooked. Will definitely stay again when in the area.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Belfrey, but it definitely will not be the last. The rooms are light and comfortable and really clean, the proprieters are friendly and welcoming, the location is really quiet and relaxing which is just what we want, and the food is unquestionably the best I have ever tasted, beautifully cooked and presented, both at dinner and breakfast. We cannot praise it highly enough
