Lack of Toilet in room, although this was indicated when I booked.
nice and comfortable with an excellent location.
you can hear everything, if you are a light sleeper this is not the place for you, i could hear everyone below me and in the rooms on the same floor, not to mention the wind outside i could feel and hear coming through a closed window, good thing is these are not a problem for me and i would stay here again.
No water pressure for the shower
The rooms were spacious, enough for two people. The bed was comfy and big. Room looked clean.
There was a scaffolding outside the hotel ( not hotels fault) but thank god for curtains. Didn't see elevator. Carpet was pulled up abit.( looked abit like council flats) Didn't feel particularly safe. Needed to pay for an actual controller for the tv. Nail sticking out of the bed which ripped a piece of clothing, thank god it wasn't my leg. Just wanted a nice warm shower in the morning but the water was colder than cold, felt like I was under an ice bath( almost sick due to the temperature). We didn't pay much for the location it was in but at least expected some hot water.
Excellent position. Rooms are clean and in good condition, in spite of what other reviews said.
The stairs are indeed worn-out, but it's not a big deal. Toilets are shared (but you get a basin in your room).
The staff are friendly & helpful. The location is quite close to the coach & train station. The main reason for our travel is to go to the Spanish Consulate for our appointment which is about 20mins walk from the hotel.
The room was very small! They squeezed a double bed with a single bed & a wardrobe in one tiny bedroom! There's hardly any space to move around the room. The bathroom didn't look anything like the picture in their website! It's grubby all over the wall & the floor so we ended up buying flip flops as we didn't trust the floor at all! The water temperature of the shower keeps changing! The bed was very uncomfortable, you can feel the springs! We have a tiny TV & you have to get the remote from the reception for a refundable price of £5!
Rooms are small but comfortable, staff are great - very kind & helpful. It's a little shabby in places, and if you're looking to impress go elsewhere, but for a cheap and cheerful bed for the night it's hard to beat, and did I mention the staff are great. Wifi works better than some, too.
It was very close to the Apollo theatre which suited us very well. We only used the room to sleep in for one night. I wouldn't like to have stayed longer.
The bathroom was very small. If on the larger side, you wouldn't be able to fit in.
You get what you pay for. I think the price was very good comparing to the location which is excellent and the type of accommodation you get. No major problems, cleanliness okay breakfast could have been better but generally not bad.
Breakfast could have been better and the hotel could be refurbished but I guess it is happening right now.
location, wifi, warm rooms and nice staff at the hotel reception
the general cleanliness of the hotel, especially of the shower. I was not able to take a shower because it looked very disgusting: red and green mold all over the shower walls.
This hotel could so with serious matinence. The carpets are thread bare! Out room was in the third floor we had big heavy cases and the man in the reception didn't even offer to help even when hearing and watching us struggle up the thin steep steps! The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in and I feel that the whole room needed matinence so did the communal shower! The cleanliness also needs to be improved
Location, near to Horse Guards for Rememberance Service
Plaster coming of wall in communal shower. Filthy rooms, corridors, wash rooms, toilets, I actually washed in McDonalds loos. It may look good at £45.00 but pay up or sleep in the street
torn wallpapers, very poor place. Slum.
Breakfast room was clean and fresh.
Perhaps the walls could have been touched up..
Floor next to bin wasn't too clean.
Facilities in room for the money and location
A little tired and could do with a coat of paint
Staff was nice and location is perfect - right next to Victoria station. Wi-fi was also working most of the time and room was warm enough.
- shower - there was no hot water for 2 evenings(I also checked in the morning and it's still was not fixed - even when I reported it to the staff). At my last day there I heard that someone was using one of the showers - maybe they've fixed it at last. Had to use sink in my room to wash myself - fun, but not for 2 days. - scary stairs(worn carpet and walls) - they could film another "Hostel" movie here for sure :)))
This hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance of Victoria station, which is a standard pickup/drop off for people traveling from the airport and for getting on the tube to go anywhere. The room had a shower and sink in it (nice), though the toilet was down the stairs...wifi worked well
The man working the front desk was not helpful at all--when asked about directions or nearby restaurant recommendations, he essentially told me to go outside and I'd find things. Another lady was kind and helpful, but was having a very angry conversation on the phone with one of her employees for several minutes before asking what I needed...this was uncomfortable. Walls are bare, stairs need recarpeting, but they're clearing refurbishing the outside, so I'm sure more improvements to come. Breakfast is the bare basics--cereal, yogurts, coffee machine, and 4 pieces of white toast.
The carpet was so worn in places there were holes through to the floorboard. The hotel looked like it hasn't been painted decades. The "ensuite" was about the size of a wardrobe which I could barely turn round in. The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
Breakfast was OK and kitchen area was clean. Location is ideal
The room was cramped and the furnishings were laughable The staircase carpet is downright dangerous and the carpet in the room made me glad I took some flip flops. You can hear the next door neighbours breath never mind do anything else but I guess you get what you pay for !!
Dirtiness Excessive wear and tear Hotel description that doesn't reflect reality at all Rude staff Unwilling to refund me
The lodging conditions The floor was declivous The bathroom was separated and in desperate need of renovation The window wasn't soundproof at all and there were cars constantly passing by The room was very small and also in need of renovation
I stayed there alone during a weekend, I can say it was safe place for young girl, good area. Lovely location just 3 mins to Victoria station from where was direct bus at Heathrow airport. If u like to walk u don´t need to use public transport at all, just a short walk to Buckingham palace. Nice stuff, good wifi, comfy bed, quite place, for the price OK
Hotel is in very poor condition, I guess before reconstruction..? Only complain I would have was the breakfast only sweet staff.- no egg, ham or so on. If I will travel alone I don´t mind to stay in this hotel again, but I wouldn´t stay here with my boyfriend.
