A stylish hotel with a unique location overlooking the River Kelvin, in the heart of Glasgow's fashionable West End. Recently refurbished and less than 1 mile from the city centre.
Score from 189 reviews Very good
Nice small, renovated and clean hotel, excellent wi-fi signal, staff very helpful
no check in before 3 pm
Excellent breakfasts; room facilities; helpful staff; fast wi-fi; location near university
difficult ascent to top floor rooms; street parking inconvenient; lacking facilities for disabled;
Staff unfriendly Service was poor Poor value for money Need to be fit for stairs
Handy to west end with restaurants and pubs close by.
staff helpful the breakfast you could not fault the location perfect for what we wanted
the stairs to the top room
The night porter was very helpful. The hotel needs more staff.
Not having a comfortable bed.no tea making facilities in bedroom unless you paid extra. The view out of lower ground floor window was bad. The front lower ground needs to be tidying. Pots pf shrubs you just need to walk along the pavement and see what can be achieved.
Nice room and excellent breakfast. Very polite and helpful staff.
Could do with a lift if you are on the 3rd floor!
I found really nice and helpful staff throughout. Lovely, peaceful area near museums and Botanical gardens and shops. Good food and delicious breakfasts. How do you make that porridge?
Getting up to the top of the building was a bit hard but not impossible. Was this aspect clear on your website? (e.g. No lift.)Mature and\or slightly disabled people might need to know.(I didn't book myself.)
Staff were very helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Very good area to stay e.g. residential, quiet and attractive.
We have nothing to comment on.
Bed was comfy and staff were very chatty. Breakfast was decent and served quickly. Easy to park outside and only a couple of miles from the city centre
My bathroom made some very weird and loud noises when toilet was flushed
Staff welcoming and efficient, hotel beautifully decorated with spacious rooms. Breakfast well presented, cooked and delicious. Great attention to detail to make guests feel at home and to find their ways around the city.
Hotel is very dated. Shower leaked all over floor and we were not informed that the breakfast we paid for would stop being served at the ridiculous time of 8:45am. We were not the only guests who missed out and when we complained we were met with a shrug. Awful customer service.
Friendly helpful staff, nice room
Car parking difficult, no lift, problem with wifi, the floor of the room was not level
Nice staff. Pleasant surrounding. Good value for money.
Well cooked breakfast, with choice of porridge & fish, as well as usual full Scottish fry.
Nothing really. Single room was small, simple with ensuite shower. Nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate. Good value for money.
Good to be able to stay in a lovely old town house in a leafy, quiet street, within walking distance of various good restaurants and with excellent transport links to the centre of the city. It was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was good.
I was obliged to pay extra in order to have a 'hospitality tray' in my room. Given that my room wasn't cheap (I was charged extra for a 'superior room') it was a shame that tea making facilities weren't included.
Staff were so helpful and friendly. I changed from single room to twin to family room to accommodate friends. All changes accommodated at short notice and with a smile. Family room was spacious and comfortable. Good location for Byers Road and the West end. Very good value.
The hotel is a repurposed terrace house full of character, located just across from the botanical garden. The area is very safe with lots of shopping and restaurants within 10 minutes walk. High ceilings throughout the hotel. Glasgow university is within walking distance.
1. Located in a quiet residential area but near the local restaurants & nightlife. 2. Friendly & helpful staff.
1. Superior single room was much smaller than described. 2. No air conditioning.
Good location for west end and good value.
Car parking difficult.
Helpfulness of staff and overall value for money.
I enjoyed the friendly round the hour staff who where always willing to help
I didn't as much enjoy my room being desperate from my bathroom but as it says in the title for what I payed it was an easy enough sacrifice at the time of the commonwealth games
a long climb up the stairs to our room on the top floor
Friendliness of staff, excellent food, good clean room with en suite, nice and quiet
No tea or coffee making facilities - this spoilt was other wise is an excellent hotel. Bar not being open past 11pm
Superb location in West End, 10 minutes walk from tube station. Extremely welcoming, helpful staff - especially Kevin. Brilliant breakfast.
