Nice large and clean room. Hearty breakfast, close to Byers Road and all their pubs, and restaurants. Plenty of parking. Can be hard to find the right way by car

The staff were friendly from the outset. The hotel has its own quirky style. The room was huge, clean and tidy. The bed was really comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. There was no shower - only a bath with a shower hose.

A fine old terraced house made into a hotel. Retains many original architectural features not ruined to cram in more accommodation. Lots of local facilities and city center is 4 stops on the metro of about £8 by taxi. Plenty of interest within walking distance.

Location is good for walking into the West End. Appears this hotel is letting itself slip, frozen/tinned fruit salad at breakfast and orange juice from a box, not good.Smell of cooking bacon circulates the whole hotel in the morning. Sorry but dont think we will go back, disapponiting as we stayed before and it was good.

Staff were very helpful, bed was comfortable, T.V. reception was good! Having to climb to the second floor as I am not good on stairs, but this was probably reflected in the price. The handle on the cold tap of the washbasin needs repaired and the light above the shower room mirror did not work. It was not easy to find because of having to locate the narrow back lanes etc.

Interesting architecture, nice coal fire in the dining room/bar area My room was very noisy - windows with single glazing and traffic could be heard outside. The bathroom was extremely makeshift and they had erected a shower curtain on the broken cubicle door as a seemingly more economical way of replacing the door. When I asked them for hair conditioner they did not have any in stock, and my wake up call for 8pm was given at 8.20pm. Luckily I had miscalculated my flight departure time. They didn't have soda water in stock at the bar. The staff seemed pretty disinterested in their guests, in my opinion. It was not a warm reception.

The man on reception was less than welcoming and not very friendly. You had to kneel in the bath to use the shower and the bed was very creaky but, having said that, it was good value and I would stay there again

Comfortable room in a good location and good value for money. It felt like a family business when we arrived. Lovely ceilings! The person in the room next door to us was extremely drunk and conducted a loud and violent argument with a lady friend for three hours 11pm-2am and eventually I had to ask the night porter to intervene. I was surprised that nobody had been keeping an eye on him as he arrived quite late in a very drunken state and he also tried to get into our room mistaking it no doubt for his own. The staff did intervene when I alerted them (just after 2am) and the noise stopped but nobody followed it up with us which slightly surprised me. I had a night's ruined sleep. Not the fault of the hotel maybe and no doubt some guests are beyond control at times but hotel staff might like to be more vigilent when a guest is obviously 'beyond it' on arrival.

The breakfast was exceptionally good lots of fresh fruit, a good range of cereals not just the usual cornflakes and muesli, the cooked breakfast used very fresh ingredients. The eggs had beautidul orange yolks and were cooked to perfection. As a single traveller my room was in the basement looking out under the steps which was not very nice but it did muffle the traffic on the main road outside so made for a better sleep.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was pleasantly decorated. The breakfast room was tastefully decorated and the staff were attentive and obliging. There was plenty of choice on the breakfast menu and the food was very good. The bathroom was nearly ready to be refurbished ,however, we have stayed in another room at the hotel and that bathroom was much better.

The room was fantastic. We had a wonderfull view of the bay. The staff at the front desk was not very helpfull with parking questions and options. It worked out fine in that we had a spot just outside of the front door and did not get a ticket. We arrived about 4:00pm and the parking meters were covered and we could not pay for parking until 6:00pm.
