The Belhaven HotelWest End, 15 Belhaven Terrace, North West, Glasgow, G12 0TG (Show map)
Very good,
Score from 117 reviews
“ The staff were fantastic. I was genuinely surprised at how comfortable, clean and central the hotel was given it's low price tag. Breakfast was fantastic, served in front of a open fire. The hotel isn't luxury but it is really comfortable and the location is perfect for accessing Glasgow's West End. ”

....I enjoyed the omellette in my room. The bed was very comfortable. I was dismayed to hear that I was on the fourth floor and there was no lift. I am 76 and was well out of breath by the time I got to my room.Eating in my room was not ideal, but...(see plus)

Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location for Glasgow's west end, Glasgow University and convenient to bus and tube transport. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking was very limited in a narrow street - set back from the main road (Gt Western Road)

Rm 19. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful old building well maintained and very clean. Room is spacious and nicely decorated with beautiful windows with view of gardens and ornate 14ft. ceiling. Breakfast was delicious and dining room bright and welcoming. Excellent location for exploring Glasgow right across from Botanic Gardens and near Byers Rd. Close to subway.Easy cab ride or subway to Buchanan St downtown. No hair-dryer plug by well lit mirror in bathroom or bedroom.

Very helpful staff, attentive without being intrusive. I felt safe and slept well in a comfortable bed. Room and all areas very clean. Good food. Excellent location, handy for all west end attractions, but at the same time in a quiet location. Great value for money. Looking forward to my next stay. There was not anything that I did not like about this hotel.

The spa bath was amazing and the room was bright and very spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. Room service was delivered promptly and with a smile. All the staff who served us were extremely helpful, friendly, professional and polite. All in all my girlfriend and myself had a lovely comfortable night in the Belhaven Hotel. No real problems or issues to report.

We simply needed somewhere to sleep and a breakfast in the morning and Belhaven offered this for a very reasonable cost. The bed was very comfy, best sleep I've had in a long time. Read reviews where traffic noise was an issue, room too small (we were up in attic) but we both disagree with these comments. At no time were we bothered by noise and, yes the room was smallish, we have stayed in smaller and paid much more. For what we paid we were delighted and we will definitely return here. (Breakfast was enjoyable also as was the service). Highly recommend this hotel if you are shopping in City Centre (5 mins walk to Underground) or Byres Road. There were some bits and pieces that could be tidied up - the kind of 'Hotel Inspector' level of detail, however, had we paid £120 or so per night we wouldn't have been happy and would complain, but we paid less than half of that so definitely no complaints

Nice friendly welcome. Lovely clean towels and bed linen, bed comfy. Good to be able to park car outside and were able to leave for most of next day while in Glasgow even though we were not staying that night. No water to drink other than from taps. The orange juice was not great although these days you can get pure juice reasonably from supermarkets. The fruit selection for accompanying cereal was poor, it's nice to have prunes and a natural yogurt is also good to have as a choice.

Staff is very friendly and competent. They remember guests from one visit to the following. They are very committed to guest's comfort and please. We are allowed to have a takeaway dinner in the dining room. Hotel staff provides cutlery, plates, glasses and tap water. As time goes, the hotel acquires new facilities. Now, for breakfast, they have a brand new coffee machine enabling to have a large variety of excellent coffees. Fast broadband internet is now available free of charge in all bedrooms, not just reception and dining room. Also, the menu contains new items. Cleanliness and heating are just perfect. If you can, I recommend booking room 7. For the rate of any other room, you feel like staying in a wonderful palace (probably Westminster). This room is particularly suitable for a family but you can enjoy it if you are a couple. This room is probably 80sqm large. Other rooms are much smaller but very decent size. High ceilings, Scottish character, beautiful decoration. Just great for a honey moon or something alike if incidentally in Scotland as well as for regular visits to Glasgow. Everything was great.

The staff were great and clearly care about their customer relationas. THe food was excelent and the connections to town reasonable. As one often responsible for maintaining such an old and limiting building I would say that the general condition and facilities were a bit over priced and could have been better attended. Good enough for us but near the price of the Hilton near by? Maybe not for many in this price bracket. P.S. Have left some feilds open because they are not in my realm of knowing. Either they do not apply to us or were a matter for others to decide for them selves?

Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Parking a bit of an issue as on street in a very narrow dead end lane. There was a problem with wifi so not available as advertised but to be honest not a problem for me on a one night stay.
