The beer was Greene King, one of my favourites. The staff were cheerful and helpful. The breakfast selection was extraordinarily good for so few guests. I chose the Bell hotel for its appearance and location rather than staying in a chain on a trading estate. Good car park. The kitchen fan just outside my window (room 7) started early and was very noisy. I was awake but it might inconvenenience other guests. The bathroom decor was very tired, although very clean. |

Very friendly staff, very helpful., Wonderful atmosphere in a great location opposite the abbey. Would reccommend the hotel as a great place to stay. The bed was so comfortable I didn't want to get up !! ! Breakfast next morning was lovely and very much appreciated. Would have happily stayed more than one night! Only the creaky floorboards were the annoying thing, yet considering the age of the building it almost added to it's charm |

Location and pleasant helpful staff. Rooms are well equipped. No lift to bedrooms (obviously not easy in such an old building), no designated parking for hotel guests. |

Well located, good parking, nice stuff, bright room. We could hear the steps of the guest in the upper floor all night. The wooden floor creaked so much. The cuttlery for breakfast wasn't very clean. |

Lovely location in a beautiful village. Very good, friendly and helpful barman and the girl at breakfast time. We never had any hot water on Monday and Tuesday evening. This was due to there being kitchen alterations done and nobody had checked to see if the boilers had been reset. The first time the manager put them on after I had to go down to the bar, but the second time the manageress didn't seem to care. Again I had to go down to the bar because nobody answered the phone on reception. |

The Hotel's location was its best point- opposite the Abbey and also just on the edge of the town centre. It was also very competitively priced. Judging by the overpowering smell and the abundant evidence of cigarette (and cigar!) ends on the roof, the room and probably others, had been occupied by smokers recently. I am a smoker but dislike sleeping in a room that smells of smoke and I thought it was against the law? |

Plenty of hot water, very comfortable bed, plenty of breakfast, The noise of the traffic and the corridoors were in need of decorating, but this is not a complaint as the price we paid was more than reasonable |

Staff very friendly, food excellent. Location superb - right next to the Abbey. Old-fashioned, but comfortable. Real sense of history. |

Excellent breakfast The quality of loo roll was bad and they didn't leave very much of it either. Also the milk for making the tea in the room was the horrible UHT kind. |

Friendly helpful staff and the breakfast was excellent as there was a wide choice of different cooked breakfasts cooked to order, together with freshly prepared fruit - huge dish of strawberries and melon The double room we were in was a bit small and only had a shower. |
