We liked the way we were able to get about as the position of the hotel is situated so that we were able to visit many more locations as well. The hotel is very easy to find.
Room size and comfort was really good .breakfast service was really excellent, choice was above expectations.
There was a tapping throughout the night presumably from heating system, for a heavy sleeper no problem but for a light sleeper would be irritating
Loved the location , the bar area was friendly and relaxing , comfortable chairs and clean .
Our room was on the ground floor facing the car park . We had workmen arriving at 04.45 in two vans . Also noisy pipes all night .
We were visiting the Abbey so location could not have been better, plus there was parking
The state of the decor and bedroom furniture was rather tired, with uneven creaky floors, however the building is old. Pasta on evening meal menu but not available, porridge on breakfast menu but also not available
Had everything I needed. Located in the main town area. Easy to park in their own car park. Variety of breakfast was good with mainly self service. Free wifi easily accessed. Rooms serviced every day. Easy access to the Abbey.
My twin room was located in what I would call an attached "annexe" easiest accessed outside the hotel via the car park. Did not feel like an hotel. Could do with more space around beds and more drawers etc. for clothing.
EXCELLENT SERVICE BY ALL MEMBERS OF STAFF==== QUALITY OF MEALS==== CLEANLINESS OF HOTEL==== FREE PARKING====
ROAD TRAFFIC NOISE IN BEDROOMS
some staff were ok the room was sufficient.. but!
some staff , particularly breakfast staff were unhelpful and rude the room was next to the beer garden and was noisy till late.no secondary glazing
The room was very comfortable so was the bed's ..... Breakfast really set you up for the day ahead .... Staff were so friendly and helpful ... I would recommend The Bell to any over 60's
Only one thing let the room down ... the bathroom could of been cleaner .... But in saying this it did not spoil the stay
Unfortunately I chose salmon (I only sampled a small piece) the waitress said they were due to take it off the menu due to other complaints. Due to excessive sickness during the night I was unable to sample the breakfast!
Right in town good carpark nice breakfast
Bathroom needed updating and a lick of paint
Excellent position in an interesting town. We had a great view,a nice clean room and a very good breakfast.
Whats not to like.
Breakfast , hospitality, staff location.
Noisy extractor outside our room, did go off about 10pm
The room to old fashioned all needs updating to give value for money.
Comfy bed, good food, easy parking, friendly staff.
Waking in the early hours of the morning (27/10/14) to the sound of the fire alarm we hurried out into the car park, along with all the other guests. We stood around for some twenty minutes, waiting for someone to tell us what was happening. Fortunately it was dry and quite warm. Eventually a fire engine appeared and, at this point, we were joined by a member of staff. Having inspected the premises, the fire officer told us that we could return to our beds. I was horrified by the fact that no one appeared to be on duty overnight at the hotel. Many of the people gathered in the car park were elderly and/or infirm. In a building of this age I would expect fire precautions to be essential and this should include supervised evacuation. There was no roll call to ensure that all the guests had left the building and no explanation as to the cause of the alarm.
The location was excellent, and the building was picturesque.
The hotel needed a little more T.L.C, particularly the bathroom which although clean was tired. The double glazing didn't cope with the Abbey bells, although the view from the window of it made up a little for that.
Water far too hot, it was scalding! It prevented us using the shower (in the bath with no curtain)
Full English breakfast rather slow to be served and was not very warm. Hotel generally rather 'tired' and in need of 'refreshing.'
The building and staff were excellent and friendly and the town is also very quaint and attractive
Good location to explore Tewkesbury and the staff very helpful and polite, the bed was comfortable.
The bathroom was old and tired with black around the tiles and sealant. the dressing table was stained and a very small stain on the bed cover. breakfast was ok but no tables were prepared so even though it was not busy everyone had to wait in the bar for 5 minuets while they set a table for each couple as they arrived!!these things could easily be solved!? it is not acceptable to sell a room like that..would not stay again.
We love the old world atmosphere of the Bell Hotel. Staff were very pleasant on arrival. Our room was excellent, having both a bath and shower!! The location of the Hotel is ideal for sightseeing and walking into Tewkesbury. Our one night stay seemed longer there was so much to do and see. Breakfast was excellent with a wide menu. Loved our stay there - hope we have many more.
Having to go home!!
Dated dirty rabbit warren. Not impressed. Stayed in many a hotel for the same rates. Dissapointing. We'll never go back!!!!! Not as in pictures. Paint on floor in bathroom. Soiled duvet showing through duvet cover.
Good location for the Abbey, the hotel is situated one end of town but the shops are short walk. The staff are friendly and helpful
Friendly staff Handy for the Abbey
Road noise Service in the restaurant, food orders should be written down Average food Lead water pipes in the bedroom
the view of the abbey
