Wonderful food,excellent staff,beautiful hotel
The room was spacious fresh and clean, food excellent all cooked fresh to order but more choice would be better. Staff all well mannered and could not do enough for you. Spa wonderful and nicely priced.
No instructions for heater and room could have been warmed prior to arrival. Heater faulty was tipping out electrics when altered and sparks coming out of it when on. Lovely underfloor heating in bathroom but no guide on how it worked. The hotel had radiators but all were off so slightly chilly everywhere unless sat by the open fire.
Rustic, peaceful and olde-worlde. Staff very helpful. Hotel tastefully decorated and everything tidy and clean. Decent enough restaurant, but not world-class (as some seem to think).
Lack of facilities, other than the bar. We were awoken at 1 am by revellers leaving the bar (directly underneath us) and making an unbelievable noise. Décor is a bit tired around the edges in places , especially the carpet in the upstairs corridors, and the shower unit, inexplicably, was fixed in the corner of the shower, almost against the wall, meaning you had to virtually lean against the wall to get wet!! Overall, not special enough for the £130 it would cost to stay there again.

Atmosphere at the hotel is very relaxed.staff are very friendly and food and drink was excellent.location is very good.
We had a fantastic stay for my partners birthday. The staff couldn't have done more to help us and helped make a memorable stay for us. Attention to detail fabulous, food lovely and we had a free upgrade. Rooms were comfortable and luxurious. A wonderful experience. Special thanks to Petra.
Bella Luce's restaurant is superb. The food is really first class, expertly prepared and a great variety on the menu. The ambience in the restaurant is also lovely. We looked at a few other places to dine in but decided none came close to Bella Luce!
Everything was more than fine. It is quite expensive to stay here, but you get what you pay for - a first class hotel and restaurant.
Bella Luce is located in the most attractive part of the island. Nearby beaches were not crowded since they are only accessible by foot. There are lovely walks just on the doorstep and no need for a car. The food was very good and the staff most helpful.
The pictures on the walls. The hotel dates from 12th/13th century and it would be far more in keeping to have local paintings -Guernsey past and present - and perhaps the other Channel Islands.
Helpful staff. Took care of non-working lamp promptly. Food was excellent
Staircase needs carpet to deaden noise. Room 119 was small and had no view whatsoever & blinds had to be closed all evening for privacy - led to feeling claustrophobic
The food was delicious, the service great and the location is perfect. We had a wonderful time relaxing in our room and exploring the Island. Our bed was very comfortable and we both slept solidly, no doubt helped by the fresh sea air and relaxing environment. I was pleased to see that the toiletries contain only natural ingredients which certainly makes a change from many hotels. The Bella Luce feels both cosy and homely and upmarket all at once. The staff are very friendly and will take their time to look after you. It was a wonderful stay and we look forward to coming back.
nothing comes to mind.
Bella Luce is a beautiful hotel in a quiet and peaceful spot. The staff could not be more friendly, polite or helpful. The welcome is warm as well as informative and there are 'yummy' treats in the room on arrival. The cooked breakfasts are delicious and of the highest quality as are the evening meals. Guests are made to feel special and nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff. In all our stay at Bella Luce was delightful.
It is hard to find fault with Bella Luce but if we could have changed one thing it wold have been the water temperture in the swimming pool -which was very cold!
Great and wonderful place to have a beautiful relaxing time
Every thing was lovely. From front of house to the room we stayed in. Staff amazing and will be staying again. Thank you for making it a lovely stay
Staff were keen to help & attentive
Communication needs improving: Afternoon tea needs to be booked day before but not made clear in menus Sommelier wine list poorly set out resulting in my purchase of a £78 bottle wgen £28 appeared as the price. Weak gesture of £15 discount off next bottle poor.
Great location in St Martin and near enough to St Peter Port to walk. Hotel well designed, nice garden and pool all to a high standard. Good size bedrooms with quality fittings and excellent bathroom. Staff very friendly and cannot do enough for you. First class food and great service.
Can't think of anything.
The hotel was in a beautiful location, it was well decorated and had a pool. Fantastic restaurant Great location Fantastic hotel.
The hotel states that it has a spa, however it has treatment rooms and an outdoor heated pool. Our double bed was actually 2 single beds pushed together and you could feel the line between them as they were 2 different heights.
everything, the staff couldn't be more polite, welcoming and friendly, all that is expected from a hotel The room was stunning and the bathroom was delightful, clean and underfloor heating, a lovely treat I will certainly stay here again whether it be for business again but also will pay the extra to stay for a break
My stay wasn't long enough
Pleasant atmosphere but spoilt by works parties and wedding parties
Attentive staff, comfortable beds and an excellent restaurant
Shower water all over floor to close to electric floor lighting also bed verey tied
Fantastic staff , throughout the hotel , the owner even gave us a lift to a local restaurant . Breakfast was excellent , cooked freshly , and well presented . The food in the restaurant was superb , we didn't use the pool or Spa . Although a little way out of Peter Port , there is a bus stop outside which runs frequently and goes into the port for £1 per person , there is a choice of other buses , which stop a 5 minute walk away , plenty of car parking if you hire a car , also excellent WiFi throughout the hotel
The room was a little small , although the bathroom was lovely , good powerful shower , our room 111 , was by the courtyard so could be a bit noisy , first thing in the morning , also no A/C , but that is only a minor point Very little else we disliked
Beautiful setting, nicely furnished and decorated; very helpful staff; excellent food and wine. Lovely cocktails! We were upgraded for the second and third nights of a 3-night stay. Would definitely return!
Unheated pool! Although I still swam on a cool day in August and the water was freezing!
Three miles from Guernsey airport and the capital St Peter Port .The Bella Luce setting is in the beautiful village of St Martins with its tranquil green lanes and just a short stroll from the Southern Bay of Moulin Huet that inspired Renoir with some of his finest paintings. The Bella is part of the elite group “Small Luxury Hotels Of The World” indeed. Beautiful restaurant were we had a fantastic meal! World class dining in Guernsey!! Not to miss the amazing Fruit the Mare!! Great on classic dishes and many amazing specials, the wine list is superb, staff welcoming and friendly, nice touches in the rooms like a welcome letter with our name chocolates and wine on the room. I just wish to stay longer!! We will turn back! highlight recommend.
Nice location with good parking facility. Pleasant lounge area with complimentary refreshment for relaxing out of bedroom.
All staff very pleasant and polite but there appeared to be a lack of coordination and supervision of untrained staff in the restaurant. Orders sometimes slow or forgotten. Maître d'hôte could be improved.
Good food, freshly cooked local produce Peaceful location within 10 min walk of St Peter Port through pretty unspoilt lanes- also on bus route! Attentive staff Pleasant ambiance in public areas
Small bedrooms Unheated swimming pool
Excellent staff and service, dinner was taken in the garden, first class food and service.
Very busy at breakfast, once again asked to sit outside as lovely sunny day but no tables set up. Extractor fan in bathroom did not work, I did ask reception to fix but was not. These are small issues and would not prevent me visiting again or recommending the hotel.
