Staff were extremely friendly and very helpful. Everything was immaculately clean and the fook was OK. We had lunch and breakfast, both well cooked, well presented and served by the nicest staff. My room was dingy and badly furnished like a hotel in the 60s. It was very clean and had clearly been recently decorated but the decoration was badly don and the wallpaper was all lifting long the seams. There was carpet in the bathroom and I had to sit sideways on the loo because of the way the room was fitted. Why not a shower cubicle instead of trying to squeeze in a full size bath?

Room decor slightly dated, i had room 16, 2 very large sea facing windows so had great views. This hotel was more than comfortable for my 6 night stay in Aber and would certainly stay again. Room 16 directly above reception so WiFi signal in room was very strong, which may not be the case in other rooms. With a little bit of refurb this could be a great hotel again rather than just a very good one. TV position on wall is too high, needs to be moved down onto a corner shelf or table.

The warm welcome from Diane (hope I got her name right?) who helped us carried our luggage up. Comfortable beds and pillows. View of Cardigan Bay and seagulls right off the window. Unforgettable! Yummylicious hot vegetarian English breakfast. The hefty door. The hotel doesn't have lift. However the hotel staffs were very helpful with our luggage.

Good central location, superb view from sea-view room. Room was fairly small, but clean, comfortable and warm, with everything working OK. Moderately expensive at high-season tariff (but probably worth it for the location alone)

Great Centreal local, everything in easy walk. Great Hotel and Staff, very accomodating. Parking could be a bit tight if busy but that comes with a central local.

The staff were really accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. a very warm welcome and very helpful with inquiries. The room was very spacious and very clean. The beds/rooms were very comfortable with a wonderful view of the beach. The breakfast was excellent and also the Sunday lunch. We will definitely be staying there again when we return to Aberystwyth in Feb and June. nothing to dislike.

location is fantastic, wonderful sea view, dinner was adequate, breakfast was good, staff very helpful and pleasant - we had a lovely stay and will definitely return when we next visit in the spring the toast machine is a bit of a pain, and i think it would be easier for staff if pots of tea and coffee were put on your tables

Handy for the town there was a rather musty smell in the corridors as if it hadn't been used in ages. Noisy students at 3 a.m in the morning

The Hotel is perfectly situated on Aberystwyth's coastline, this hotel has all the original features of a historical seaside town building, but has been really well maintained inside. The room was spacious and had a bay window overlooking the promenade, with an excellent seascape to admire. I was lucky to be here during a nice spell of weather. I stayed an extra night in the same room and enjoyed my time here immensely.

Friendly and helpfull staff. This was a quick business trip and I was working in the night so I could not use the hotel to its advantage as my stay was evening meal, work, sleep, breakfast, home. If I go to that part of the country again I would stay there again. The hotel is in need of some tender care and re decoration. When it rained during the night the water was flowing over the gutters as they are full of weeds. I stayed in room 24 and some wallpaper is coming away from the walls.

Excellent location on Aberystwyth promende with superb sea view. Large spacious twin room with sofa and room to spread out. Very good value for money. General hotel decor a little tired. Limited car parking is mentioned in hotel information - parking is very limited to around 10 spaces.

I have stayed in other Aberystwyth sea-front hotels and for a small increase in price at the Belle Vue Royal, the increase in standards is high. The room was large and lovely, overlooking the sea. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Everything clean and nice quality. Will definitely stay here again. Can't think of anything!

While most staff were helpful and friendly one particular reception staff member was completely lacking in people skills which unfortunately emphasized the negative impact of our hotel experience. Perhaps a simple 'hope you enjoyed your stay' on checkout would have helped leave a better impression or a willingness to provide something as simple as a jug of milk on request without telling a guest 'we can't just give it to you'. Small things perhaps but sadly these are the things that can leave a lasting impression on travellers.
