Ideal location with good sea views. Free on site parking. Good breakfast. For the price paid the quality of the room was poor, decor was shabby and needs a general upgrade. Could not understand why it was not a proper flushing toilet, but a chemical flush that was noisy. Felt that it was overpriced especially for January. Have stayed before and had a better quality room, do not understand how the room allocation works.

The location was great - right on the seafront with shops and restaurants only a few minutes away. My double room was large and fairly comfortable. However everything was a bit run down and just a bit shabby - worn and discoloured carpet, peeling wallpaper - things like that. Given the price of the room, I expected better. Also, as a single traveller I felt not especially welcome - not unwelcome, just not their highest priority.

The night porter was very polite. Felt like it was haunted. The bed was too close to the wall making it feel claustrophobic.

Breakfast! Rooms are in bad condition, wallpaper hanging off the walls etc.... Very poor decor, in need of a major makeover. This hotel has fantastic potential as the location is the best in Aberystwyth!

Clean and relaxed hotel. Pleasant room with view of pier and beach, close to the university accomodation my daughter is staying in .the hotel was warm and the breakfast excellent value for money. One area we felt could have been improved on was the decor and atmosphere of the bar, more subdued lighting and perhaps more "relaxed" furniture,In the evening the bar seemed a little lacking in atmosphere so we drank and ate out.

Not the run-of-the-mill modern-day hotel complex. Has character. Staff very courteous and responsive (apart from at arrival). Excellent location for the pier and sea-front. Car parking on premises. Reception staff on arrival very efficient, but no greeting (nor a smile even) - straight down to the business in hand and no response to customer pleasantries. Good cooked breakfast - but served cold, except the sausage.

Large room. Comfortable twin beds. Very clean. Sea view. N o facilities for disabled guests. Could not use shower/bath because of inaccessibility. Also room was on first floor which made hings difficult, although, to be fair, we were told this on booking.Food was unappetizing.

Good location on the seafront in Aberystwyth. Friendly staff and the bar is good with 1 or 2 real ales on offer. Breakfast was poor on the 2nd and 3rd nights of our stay. Car parking is also very restricted. The wallpaper in our bedroom was peeling away in several locations and the decor was rather dated.

The location is excellent, right on the sea front. The staff (receptionists, waiters and after hours doorman) were all very pleasant and helpful. The food is very good. The hotel rooms are a little dated. Hotel car park is small so you need to check in early to get a space.
