View Bathtub Good tea Excellent service
very good food, breakfast and evening meal.Staff very friendly, hotel clean and room fresh
The staff are friendly and informative and nothing is too much trouble. The location on the sea front is perfect. Rooms are comfortable and quiet and the breakfast if brilliant with lots of choice.
Parking........ The road parking on one side allows up to 4 hours and the parking on the hotel side is 1 hour. Hotel car park is small. In the daytime the road parking can be hectic with limited spaces. This is no fault of the hotel.
Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely location. Excellent food. I'll be back!
- location - room space - food at the restaurant
- room decor - noisy, cracking flooring - staff too slow at breakfast - Wifi connection very weak in bedrooms
Location was excellent
Window very dirty bed clean but bathroom very poor
Good food and friendly staff
Single rooms a little cramped
Great seafront location with brilliant views across the sea Lovely food and a great bar
The outside has been redone but its time to refresh the rooms - very 1970s!
Sea view and location. Room a decent size and clean. Staff helpful and friendly. Definitely recommended and would stay again.
Hot water a little lacking first thing in the morning, but not too bad.
Clean, nice bar and great sea view.
Drinks in the bar are too expensive.
Especially good porridge
We only booked the night before we left and had a really lovely room nice and big and clean. Reception staff bar staff and the lady editing in the breakfast room all very pleasant. Very nice breakfast. Excellent position for bothe the front and for shops would definitely stay Again
excellent room excellent breakfast
Glorious sea views. Grand bedrooms with high ceilings and huge sash windows flooding the room with light. Fantastic location - central to everything. Lovely ambience. Delicious breakfasts. Would recommend.
V limited parking (about 6 spaces) behind the hotel. Not a problem for us as we arrived early and parked without a problem but may be an issue for later arrivals.
I was travelling with my work and needed a quiet room for early morning work. Just what I had, good view of the sea, good breakfast and all the tea and coffee I could use in the room.
Bathroom a bit small, tight squeeze in and out of the shower could do with a remodel in the en suite.
Location excellent... Staff courteous and helpful. Reception excellent Breakfast and Service by the breakfast staff excellent Nothing too much trouble,, local event information readily available. Facilities are 'old' but have historical character!
Car park facilities?? Must park on the esplanade when park full( with only 'a few car spaces and very crowded (restrictions on time apply to the esplanade ) No elevators for luggage to accommodation floors. So travel lightly
I could not fault the hotel in any respect
Location great. Arrived and used the very cramped. And awkward car park though it was free. Reception staff helpful and friendly. Twin room spacious but decor, dark green, a bit drab. View out of window an eye sore. Bathroom a bit old fashioned but shower ok and powerful enough and toiletries sufficient. Carpet on bathroom floor which was nice. Beds comfortable and clean. Storage sufficient. Only had breakfast which was plentiful and full english tasty. Staff at breakfast pleasant and helpful.
View from room awful and at £80 a night! Decor drab and tired throughout room and foyer etc.
spacious room facing the sea. Comfortable bed
breakfast was good but a full vegetarian option would have been nice
The location is great, right on the seafront of Aberystwyth – if you get a room with a sea view.
The hotel needs a total revamp – decor and fittings are worn, do not match or do not work (lights, for just one example – or several!) The first room offered, in spite of us having booked 6 months earlier and paid £105 for one night in a double room, was cramped, dark (looking out under a fire-escape) and with several things out of order. The second, sea-view one substituted after complaint was much better, though still with faults. The breakfast menu itself was fine, as was the food, but the service was chaotic, panic-stricken and utterly inefficiently run; many guests were standing around for some time waiting for long-vacated tables to be cleared so that they could even be seated. A lot of reorganisation and a bit of training were needed here!
we booked two rooms and got one excellent one overlooking the sea and one terrible one. The good one was big, bright and had a very comfortable bed and a big bathroom with a bath.
The back room was small, cramped, had a frosted window that didn't open and had hot water piped to both the hot and cold water taps!
Parking not great
Car park was a challenge
Loved the location and friendly staff
Hot water was only just warm
Wonderful sea views from front rooms. Heaven help those who were at the back over a hotchpotch-porch of old buildings. Staff pleasant and friendly but some have no training just getting by.
This family-run hotel is desperate for someone to grab it by the scruff of its neck and bring it into the 21st century. Apparently they are refurbishing slowly!!!! The restaurant needs an experienced professional person to improve the uptake. Menu presentation is appalling. Food fair, Ambience totally lacking, no flowers, like eating in an institution. Wine stains remain on carpet, guests eat at the next door hotel for good food in modern surroundings. Staff are pleasant but no one seems to be in charge. Never saw the manager or owner at all. The whole hotel could do with a total revamp with good quality fittings and a thorough clean. Need I say more. Aberystwyth deserves a better standard and more up to date hotel with a super restaurant properly run.
