There was nothing that was disappointing enough to have wanted to complain about it....but since you ask.....I do have a few constructive comments / suggestions that might be helpful to make things even better.
Access to the broadband was not as simple as I would have liked. Why not leave the access code in the room (instead of guests having to phone reception for it) along with a note explaining that the free access is for basic internet and email use only. Also, the screen asking me to make choices and offering a paid-for alternative was confusing and irritating as I needed it quickly when I was in a rush, just before leaving.
The buffet breakfast was generally excellent. But the sausages were somewhat rubbery, and I would suggest high quality chipolata sausages would be more appropriate than the thicker ones for breakfast and they would cope better with being kept hot for hours without compromising look or texture. Also, some (but not all) of the poaches eggs had clearly been there for too long and they could have been removed as they spoiled the overall impact, and no-one would choose them when there were other fresher ones anyway. The fruit was great, especially the mushy berries (which I assume were the frozen ones that I sometimes buy from my supermarket. It's nice that they become a kind of fruit sauce that compliments the texture of the other fresh fruit that was on offer.as well as adding colour.
Coffee is an important subject. When away from home I miss my favourite brand - I look forward to it every morning and it's one of the things that prepares me for the day ahead. In common with most hotels, the coffee at breakfast was not pleasant to taste. I don't know whether is was over-brewed or just chosen without thought..... perhaps on price? Either way, you are missing an important opportunity to differentiate yourselves from other hotels, as good coffee would be a thing that any coffee-lover would remember and report to others.
The service from every member of staff I met was impeccable. Very unusual these days. And they looked happy, which gives the whole experience an extra lift. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever had in a hotel, and the bedding was high quality. The complimentary items in the mini bar were useful and imaginative. There were plenty of towels. The shower was great, with both a fixed overhead and a hand-held alternative.
