Excellent value for money. Rooms clean and well appointed. Interesting old house; perhaps some information about the house could be displayed. Breakfast was fine.

Like that the hotel is an old building, in the process of being refurbished. Owner very nice, bedrooms furnished very well. Breakfast choice good, fresh fruit, cereals. No reception area, had to hunt around to find anyone to check in. We were locked out at 10.30pm, had to bang on the door for owner. Outside could do with a good tidy up. It is strange that this hotel is actually trading as so many areas are unfinished, no restaurant! Pub next door was noisy Friday night. 1 rasher of bacon for breakfast?

The owner was very accomodating/helpful and the service was quick and efficient. The room was spacious and comfortable with lovely powerful shower. Would have liked the heating to have been on and an extra pillow!

The welcome given and clear instructions about our room etc. Owner was very pleasant to speak with and gave us a true opinion of the town and the history, The location was excellent for us being close to the centre and Church. The property was very well presented (having undergone a major re-fit and complete re-decoration, The hotel is currently only available at weekends and this suited our stay for one night on a Sunday. Breakfast was excellent ,hot, and promptly served. As we were attending a funeral at mid day the owner kindly agreed that we could stay on and use our room to change for 2 o'clock . This was much appreciated.

When I stayed they were just developing the hotel in a delightful old house. They are doing things very well, are well located with good parking and I enjoyed my stay. Everything worked and the breakfasts were good. Rooms have names not numbers and it is nicely relaxed. There was a noisy disco a short distance away on Saturday - which didn't bother me but some others commented about it. I know the owner is pursuing this so that it finishes at a reasonable time.

The Manager/Owner tried to be very helpful. He put a mirror in because there was not one in the room where my wife could dry her hair and see it. The decor was good but the hotel needed a lot of time and money spent on it to bring it up to a very good standard. However it was very clean and friendly. The Pub next door was extremely noisy and the loud music did not finish until 3 am, the the shouting of the pubs clients did not stop until a little later. The hotel room we had was adequate but needed a little more work. There was also no Wardrobe for hanging clothes. Only draws. The bed was a little lumpy and there was no extra blanket which we could change instead of the extremely hot quilt.
