The location was perfect for us and the breakfasts were really good. We booked a family room as we have 2 children, so was expecting a double bed and 2 singles/bunk but we got a double with a very small sofa bed. My children don't share at home so was difficult to expect them to share here. We would have preferred an extra camp bed.

Bellplot house enabled us to have a very enjoyable relaxing weekend break with friends. The Hotel is a lovely welcoming place to stay and has local produce served daily for breakfast. The owners were very helpful and made us feel very welcome, we all agreed that we would return again in the future.

Lovely hotel, recently refurbished. Manager very helpful and friendly. Check out was 10.00am, we would have liked a later check out. Stayed 2 nights and bed was not made on the second day after we returned from a day out.

Excellent value for money. Rooms clean and well appointed. Interesting old house; perhaps some information about the house could be displayed. Breakfast was fine.

Like that the hotel is an old building, in the process of being refurbished. Owner very nice, bedrooms furnished very well. Breakfast choice good, fresh fruit, cereals. No reception area, had to hunt around to find anyone to check in. We were locked out at 10.30pm, had to bang on the door for owner. Outside could do with a good tidy up. It is strange that this hotel is actually trading as so many areas are unfinished, no restaurant! Pub next door was noisy Friday night. 1 rasher of bacon for breakfast?

When I stayed they were just developing the hotel in a delightful old house. They are doing things very well, are well located with good parking and I enjoyed my stay. Everything worked and the breakfasts were good. Rooms have names not numbers and it is nicely relaxed. There was a noisy disco a short distance away on Saturday - which didn't bother me but some others commented about it. I know the owner is pursuing this so that it finishes at a reasonable time.

The Manager/Owner tried to be very helpful. He put a mirror in because there was not one in the room where my wife could dry her hair and see it. The decor was good but the hotel needed a lot of time and money spent on it to bring it up to a very good standard. However it was very clean and friendly. The Pub next door was extremely noisy and the loud music did not finish until 3 am, the the shouting of the pubs clients did not stop until a little later. The hotel room we had was adequate but needed a little more work. There was also no Wardrobe for hanging clothes. Only draws. The bed was a little lumpy and there was no extra blanket which we could change instead of the extremely hot quilt.

The location off the High stree, lovely hall with square stair case. Quiet and friendly staff. Teh gardens need to be done - then can use outdoors - this would not cost too much to do,

Helpful owner who could tell us of good places to eat in Chard. Good breakfast. I'd say at the moment the Bellplot is more of a pleasant bed and breakfast or guest house due to the reason that while we stayed there there was no bar or communal area to relax with a coffee or glass of wine etc. However I was assured that the bar would be up and running in about a months time - bit late for us and a big disapointment. I'm sure however when this is done it will be lovely.
