We arrived for our 2 night stay to find the Belmont closed. Mail had been put through the mail slot so obviously they hadn't been there for days. We then had to find another hotel for that night and not knowing the area it wasn't an easy task. An email from them would have been appreciated.
The Lady who appeared to be the receptionist, bar maid, night butler, cook and waitress was pleasant and friendly.
The front door Being padlocked closed when I brought my bags down to the car, just as well there was no fire. The smell of at a guess was vomit from my superior £69 room, in fairness my collogues room smelt as bad. Being told at breakfast "cash only" as the card machine was broken.
Almost nothing. This was the first place we've ever checked out early from. The "Night Manager" who was always there alone attempted to make the best of a bad job. And typical Brits we were too embarrassed to complain. The hotel was supposedly being refurbished but there was no evidence of this to be seen But the breakfasts were good and the coffee super.
Beds without springs Room without heating Bathroom with a bath too awful to go near Kept wondering whether the rental car would survive the night in the very run down car park. But no brown bread for toast and the card machine broke down so had to queue at the ATM in order to pay in cash!!!!!
Friendliness of the staff Breakfast Comfortable room
Town is run down
We liked everything all aa++++ would go there again many thanks
There wasn't anything at all we did not like
helpful and friendly staff. Excellent full English breakfast. Great location and free parking. Good sized room and comfy bed which was fitted with very clean freshly laundered bedding.WOULD RETURN.
Wobbly wardrobe, 2 out of 5 light bulbs faulty. TV on the wrong wall. Carpet on the bathroom floor.Only one bedside lamp and table. These are very minor dislikes. The overall stay (one night) was a success and I would return.
Friendly staff Comfortable bed Tasty cooked breakfast Nice dining / reception area Location good (we attended a family party in the nearby pub.)
Radiator in bathroom didnt work Cobweb with a dead insect in bathroom. The room-little individual milks; some were past expiry resulting in curdled tea. Difficult to get to power points; behind the bed. Porridge sachets but no microwave. Generally tired hallways / rooms in need of updating
How close it was to the local and a cracking breakfast.
Room was freezing and no biscuits. Also you had to knock on the door to be aloud back in.
I was given bedroom 10. It was extremely basic, and not worth cost of £49 charged. Mattress on bed had nothing over springs except thin outer cover and extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. Carpet old and a bit dirty and room a bit smelly..
Great helpful staff. Close to train stations and bus services. One minute walk to village shopping. Dog friendly environment. Not a single hint of pretention. HIGHLY recommended
Nothing to dislike
no heating,no hairdryer,shower not working!
Staff were fantastic
The food was disgusting, really bad, the wine was old sure it had been sitting there for long time. Heating was a little tiny heater in room
friendly, comfortable, good food
Food in the Bistro was very good, staff were very helpful and friendly.
The Hotel was close to friends we were visiting.
The staff appeared genuinely friendly but totally disorganised. The rooms and bathrooms were tired and dated. We were unable to use the front entrance door to reception and had to go through the Brasserie. When we came back late one afternoon, the rooms were still; being serviced and we had to wait. When we came back after dinner there alwasy seemed to be someone standing at the Brasserie counter drinking as if it was some sort of public house. There was also a 70's style trouser press on the wall! Perhaps they might like to spend 24 hours in the Hotel that we had just left in Settle to see how a Hotel should be run!
The hotel was very clean n well maintain. All the staff went above them selfs and were very polite.
There was nothing to dislike about the hotel and staff
Orange juice was terrible, tasted like water
The shower in room 14.
Reception staff and night staff happy to help and friendly. Near to location I wanted to be in.
I was over charged from priced booked online. Breakfast service slow- no bowls, juice, one order taken at a time.
