We have now become regulars due to the charm of the hotel which although not grand is well located; has more than a hint of luxury and the staff seem to rather like working there hence the atmosphere is rather pleasant! Which cannot be bad! When the hotel is full the breakfast reverts to a buffet style which is not unpleasant but I prefer servcie at the table!

The breakfast is freshly cooked no buffet, but small if you have a decent appetite free parking, decent size car park, near city centre The pictures shown on the website are of the refurbished rooms, ours was not - paint peeling off walls, bit grotty and old, not worth the 85 pounds per night

Central location The hotel is tired in parts and needs updating. It is higher end on budget, but the room was in need of work and not up to standard

Everyone was friendly, helpful, polite and good humoured. in addition to breakfast we had dinner on both evenings of our stay. The food was excellent and the service first class. All the restaurant staff were excellent and our group of 6 would like to make particular mention of Nacho. What a superb location! We all enjoyed the benefits of New Walk with its easy access to the City centre and its lovely architecture and calm ambience. Our group of 6 has vowed to return and I have been showered with acolades for making the reservation.

This is a charming, boutique-style hotel in a lovely part of Leicester and located on the very scenic new walk. How wonderful to be able to walk out of the hotel, head left and walk a few blocks up the pedestrian walkway to Victoria Park, or go right downhill to the New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, the City Council and shopping. The staff was exceedingly helpful; the afternoon tea for two included with our package was a fun way to get to learn British teas and cuisine. The food at Cherry (formal dining) and Jamie's (bar and pub fare) was outstanding. The Leicester railway station is within easy walking distance, as are ethnic restaurants, Tesco Express and Costa (coffee shop). We did not drive but the free parking next to the hotel would be a real plus. Our room was on the smallish side, although the bathroom was very large, and it was easy to hear guests talking and running through the hallway. The bed and bedding could use an upgrade.

The staff were welcoming, flexible and always helpfull, and all the people in the group were happy with thier rooms which were all in the refurbished section. The Breakfast room was well organised, good selection of hot and cold food and attentive service. They might want to consider more flexiblity with restaurant hours and options, when we missed the resturant by 1 minute we were directed to the bar where we only sandwiches were available. Dissapointing on a cold wet day!

Lovely, central hotel with extremely friendly staff. The family room with its integral bunkbed room for children had an excellent layout. Breakfast was lovely - good selection of food including vegetarian options and waiting staff were great. We will be back!

Easy to walk into the shopping centre and also central for other walks. Quiet area and New Walk lovely walk way. Staff friendly and loved the extras of afternoon tea and shopping voucher. Also loved having Leicester Mercury as complimentary. Food good and room comfortable. Bathroom rather small but ok for just a few days.
