Score from 628 reviews Good
Good quality of room better maintained than when i stayed there 18 months ago
Location was excellent just out of the centre but a lovely walk into town along New Walk. Quiet, nearby roads not busy. Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and lovely decor in room which was also immaculate. Evening meals varied and well cooked. Good parking facilities.
Breakfast not as good as evening meals - cooked option rather greasy. On the last night there was a wedding reception which went on until after midnight and being an oldish building the noise did reverberate around the bedroom. Would have been nice to have been warned it was going to be a noisy late night.
The location is perfect, close to train station. The staffs are all very friendly, I book for a single room, and they gave me single room with a double bed.
Location. Terrace next to leafy pedestrian walkway. Peaceful. Good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
Stained carpets. Key cards didn't work well and had to walk up and down two flights of stairs and endless corridors to reception. Rooms too warm.
Very nice hotel in a convenient location for the city and University situated in a pleasant area. Rooms were well appointed and roomy.
We were told that only a buffet breakfast option was available on our last morning only to watch as a table seated at about the same time as us was served with the a la carte options. Also kitchen had run out of butter so had to use margarine, yuk!!
Personal touch from staffs attitude
Noise outside on street before 7 am ... Not sure if it was building or bins but went on for about 20 mins and woke us . Not sure if hotel would have any control over that !
Location. Quiet setting. Friendly staff very attentive at breakfast.
Bed a bit soft.
Location, walking distance to railway station. Well run, carefully maintained, with helpful staff. Very comfortable bed.
CLEAN QUIET GOOD LOCATION PRIVATE CAR PARKING
Can't say a bad word about the hotel 10/10 .good allround hotel. Friendly staff .clean room, whats not to like.
My stay was not long enough
Location that near restaurants and university. Quietness. Very nice staffs both in the receptions and restaurant.
The double stack bed for the kids were too small.
Excellent breakfast. Bar on site. Very close to the train station and walking distance from city center.
Small bed rooms. Old furniture and wall paper.
good location..quiet but walkable to city centre...quite nice to find an old traditional rabbit warren of a hotel still going.
sloppy cleaning...half bottle of water and empty biscuit packet on bedside table and bathroom cleanliness only so-so but issues dealt with promptly and pleasantly by staff
Breakfasts. Convienient for town and good parking.
4 night stay; No internet on the 2nd floor, I had to go down to reception. I asked for the safe in the room to be fixed (it was locked) and it wasn't.
A warm and efficient staff welcome, excellent accommodation and and a first-rate breakfast. These qualities combined with its superb location make The Belmont Hotel our first choice whenever we visit Leicester.
Hotel was lovely. Staff in dining room in the morning were lovely. Reception staff in morning were also very nice. Breakfast was very good.
Jamies bar and diner. Staff were slow to serve, appeared disinterested in the customers. Did not know what was available on the menu. Service was slow. My husband had finished his starter before my son's food even arrived. Even then I had to request it.would stay in hotel again but never eat in Jamies
Very nice area close to the museum.
Bedding OK for winter but too hot in summer! Steps down &around to get into bathroom.
I liked the large bed and breakfast feel. It didn't feel like a big chain hotel instead a bit cozy. I liked the black out curtains because with the time difference our bodies needed time to adjust and that extra bit of sleep on the first day was fantastic with a darkened room. I also LOVED the service we received at breakfast every morning in the restaurant. Betty was fabulous, she treated us like family. She gave us by far the BEST customer service on our entire trip to England.
I didn't like how hot it was in our room. Only some rooms had air conditioners so even with our windows open and the small fan we were given it was always at least 30ºc (87ºf) in our room which made for a sticky uncomfortable stay. I also didn't like the fact that the room service menu was limited after 9pm (sandwiches only) so after a long day outside if you wanted something as simple as a natcho plate or desserts it was unavailable. I didn't like that the person delivering our room service when told we'd be adding the tip to the bill requested a cash tip instead. It was our first night there and we didn't have small bills yet. The WiFi was horrible and may have been where our room was located at the back of building. There was also a mixup on my final bill and I was made to feel as if I was lying even to the point of having to show my online bookings TWICE from my computer. They found their error and thr necessary adjustments were made.
Room was lovely, location excellent.
There was no fan and little breeze came in from windows so we were extremely hot and had a terrible nights sleep. Took a while for staff to acknowledge us on arrival.
Nice hotel generally.
My room!! It was small and with the tiniest of windows that wouldn't open beyond about 3 inches - not good in swealtering heat. There was an aircon unit in the room but apparently it wasn't working. Would I return? Yes! But not in room 105!!!
Bathroom had cracked sink and from tiles to grubby bath needed a good scrub , expected better .
Nice quite and well run exalent staff very clean and up to date facilities
All the staff were very helpful and we enjoyed our stay and will use the hotel every time we go to leicester. Very close to the city and Victoria park which is nice for a stroll after breakfast.
There is only one down side and that's gaining access to the hotel after mid night we had to wait up to 30 mins for the porter to let us in.
THE LOCATION WAS GREAT
Nice hotel in quite area, spacious family room, excellent breakfast. Walking distance to city center.
