room keys never seemed to work nobody at reception most of the time we had to go and find someone.
Room decor and cleanliness was excellent. Staff were very helpful.
Very long wait, 40 minutes, for breakfast to be served as they said it was cooked to order. Back of house public areas not very pretty so hence the 4 score for cleanliness.
Location was good for us
Room above bar/restaurant, extremely loud music and loud voices from pub quiz until midnight. Had to request a second bath towel. No shower gel or shampoo. Food was poor.
Ran out of eggs. Not that I am an egg fan but come on. Its a restaurant, they have a chef, they are doing breakfast for x guests and there is a mini supermarket just down the road. Really not difficult...
The room was lovely with a 7 foot bed and huge bathroom. It's a pity that the duvet was too small for the bed as we had to sleep in the middle to make sure we were both covered. It would have been much better with 2 single duvets on such a large bed. It is a lovely building and very well located for the tram into Manchester. The staff are welcoming and the atmosphere in the bar is good. There is also plenty of parking which is something I always look out for.
The breakfasts were a disaster area. Every morning there was something that was not available - on our last morning they didn't even have any eggs. The poor waitress (who was lovely) was obviously very embarrassed at having to tell each table which items were not available that morning. In the end I ordered a croissant which I was told would take 20 minutes as it was freshly baked. It came golden brown on the top and raw in the middle (obviously a frozen one) and was totally inedible. My husband ordered the full English breakfast each morning but the food that arrived was poorly cooked, luke warm and very greasy (almost raw sausages and rubbery bacon). The shower in our room did not drain properly, so you had to either turn it off halfway through to allow the water to drain away or be very quick before the bathroom flooded. The whole shower cubicle could do with a good clean as there were signs of mould on the grouting (very easy to deal with by applying a bit of bleach - so why don't they?) The food in the bar is OK at best, but very expensive for what you get - we only had a main course and one drink each and the bill came to £38. For pub food I would have expected to pay much less. All in all, not very impressed.
Easy parking, quiet, clean and comfortable
Cooked breakfast not great.
Very nice room and bed. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The food was very disappointing. Both dinner and breakfast were sub par. Under staffed at key times
nice location easy access
only sunday lunch menu available
Room size was excellent and everything as other hotels (kettle, hair dryer, etc). WiFi that had a reasonable reception, bit tiresome having to go to hotels home page first to log on, free parking with limited spaces, but I always found a parking spot. Room was of a good size and bed was at my comfy level. Listed building so rabbit warren passage ways and stairs - change from the national chain hotels.
The service in restuarant was not pleasant to put it nicely. The waiter's table manner was a bit off putting and when trying to pay had the bill pushed at me, then ignored me as he engaged in conversation with another member of staff, had to ask if they wanted paying - no tip left
Hotel was a nice place to stay in if going to the trafford centre and Manchester if in Manchester again I would stay at this hotel
Our room was extremely hot during the night!
Clean and comfortable room with all the facilities I needed. Dinner in the bar was lovely.
Breakfast was slightly disappointing, particularly after the delicious meal the evening before
everything and everyone at the Belmore was excellent and the breakfasts was filling and lovely, would definitely use again
menus in room differed from what was on offer at restaurant, plus a bit pricey for us pensioners
Staff were friendly & helpful, rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Lovely atmosphere in the bar in the evening. The breakfast was good quality and delicious. overall we thought the hotel was excellent value for money.
Room was very nice, well furnished, comfortable bed, quiet location on the top floor. Fresh milk delivered to the room within minutes of request.
Lots of stairs, but not a real problem. Black mould on the wall over the bath.
We stayed in the Franklin suite, fantastic comfortable and very spacious
The breakfast was tepid served on a cold plate no mushrooms poached eggs overcooked and hard, could be so much better with very little effort, cook needs to take more pride in what he is sending out.
Great staff, easy access and location, good bar, comfort evening meals
Period building, nicely refurbished rooms, warm friendly bar with good food, nice staff. Good location
Rooms stuffy and traffic noise when windows open. Breakfast not as good as in previous stay.Quite a few items not available on evening meal menus
Lovely room & comfortable king size bed. Breakfast was cooked to order & very nice although we had less on our plate on our second morning. Staff were all very friendly & helpful, particularly the bar man who stayed on after closing time to check us in on our arrival after being delayed in traffic.
On the way to our room we were a bit concerned as the decor was dated & in need of a touch of paint. Quite a surprise when we entered our room though as it was very nice. The bathroom could do with decorating.
We liked the staff, the room and the facilities. It was excellent value for money and we would definitely stay there again.
Room Bar Breakfast
Absolutely loved this very comfortable hotel and would highly recommend it. The finish of the room was of a really high standard and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Meals from the menu were a little small and on the pricey side, the children also got more than the adults! The back room beside the kitchen area which guests walked past could have done with a tidy and hoover up!
Majority of Staff friendly The menu except Sunday's
Sunday dinner Not enough milk for tea making facilities. One Foreign Waiter hard to understand. Occasionally hard to park
Rang the hotel beforehand and asked for a quiet room and room 5 was upstairs at the side and we never heard a sound all night. The bed was very comfy. Wa dined out at a celebration so did not eat in the evening but the breakfast was superb. We will definitely return.
Good Home cooked food Pleasant and helpful staff Good choice of beers, wines & spirits Spacey and comfortable bedroom
Stairs didn't bother us, but would imagine families or elderly would struggle with room 21
