Located in the market town of Grantham and just off the A1 motorway, the Urban Hotel Grantham is a 4-star hotel with spa, pool and gym, and modern rooms and facilities including free WiFi.
Score from 380 reviews Good
Just off the A1 and less than 2 miles (3.2 km) from Grantham Railway Station and the town centre, the hotel offers great value, with free parking and spacious, comfortable and modern rooms.
Score from 254 reviews Fabulous
Idylically situated in the south-west corner of Lincolnshire, Britain's oldest inn, The Angel and Royal Hotel, is an historic hotel that's said to have hosted 7 kings over 600 hundred years.
Score from 157 reviews Very good
This purpose-built country bed and breakfast is located in the beautiful rural Nottinghamshire countryside. Awarded a 3-star rating, there are traditional, comfortable rooms and free Wi-Fi access.
Score from 58 reviews Very good
Nice place. Very clean. Friendly staff.
Too corporate. Very expensive. Two wines small was 12.00. Round of 4 drinks 24.00!! Room service breakfast selection was poor quality. Treatments in spa average. Wouldn't go again.
Bedroom was fantastic
Bathroom, hot water tap was too difficult to use with ease!
Stayed at the hotel for a Church Couples Retreat event. Enjoyed our stay from the day we checked in to the day we checked out. The conference rooms were superb, the rooms clean, the food excellent and the staff exceptuonally great especially the young lady who was in charge of our group Friday night and Saturday morning, Karen. Would definitely stay there again.
Excellent staff in a relaxing environment.
Good room size and mine was located far enough away from the function room to not be bothered by the noise. I used the restaurant on the first evening and had a very nice meal, breakfast was OK but on the first morning didn't have soya milk (or any alternative to dairy) which nowadays should be offered as standard.
Rooms are dated, particularly quality of shower (overhead the bath, will little "power"). Pillows and duvet were not good quality so two poor nights' sleep and that's what made me deem the hotel not good value for money which is a shame.
The politeness and courtesy displayed by the staff, the general relaxing environment.
A small hitch at check out when one of the staff member dealing with me did not seem to know the charging system a situation which would have resulted in me being charged twice. However, we resolved the issue amicably, though upset.
rooms very clean and tidy, both bars and eating area's very good ,can recommend the carvery and breakfast.leisure side very good and the golf course [ lakes].
no bottled water in room 'would have been nice
This is an excellent hotel in every way . Relaxing and restful......easy place for breaking a long journey with proximity to A1.
Spacious room, comfortable bed, good free Wi-Fi in the room. Excellent breakfast choice
Heating in the bedroom is warm air. Quick but some might find it noisy
The room and the beds where excellent and the reception staff where very good
breakfast room size parking late bar dinner
Distance from Newark shower in bath
Attitude of staff - warm and friendly. The red carpet. The room was a very good size and comfy. Walks around the estate.
For such a grand hotel breakfast cfhoice was very limited. Shower could have been stronger and hotter.. Limited choice for vegetarians - and like so many hotels and restaurants assume vegetarians eat only pasta and salad. Public lounges, where one could just sit and read or watch the world go by, scarce
This was my second visit to Belton Woods and I certainly wasn’t disappointed. There’s plenty of parking on site with a passenger and luggage drop off point. From entering reception to checking out all the staff, including cleaners were helpful, polite and friendly, especially in the restaurant. My room was very nice, two double beds, seating area, ironing board and iron, plenty of storage space and a nice large clean bathroom with shower. All the food was yet again first class with plenty of variety at breakfast, both English and continental, hot and cold. Al a Carte in the evening was supported by a great carvery, (booking advisable). The spa facilities were excellent and never crowded. All in all an extremely enjoyable weekend and if you need a relaxing weekend give Belton Woods a try.
staff, pool, room,- apart from the stain on the carpet. Excellent breakfast
Price of meals, though good quality. poor signing to exits and facilities, no map of wood walks, some signs on wood walks damaged so we got misdirected.
peace and tranquility
distances from place to place
The staff The facilities The room The food The prices
Nothing to dislike
The room was lovely
Drinks over priced
Breakfast staff very good.
Cleanliness of the bathroom was very poor, as was the plumbing! Cleanliness of the grounds poor, lots of cigarette ends left all weekend.
very comfortable bed; pleasant lounge area
low water pressure in shower; food choices (dinner menu) not great. Captive audience means restaurant prices on high side.
Every thing about the hotel and where situated and the food was great
The bed was too soft personal preference
We had a fantastic time. It was better than we expected. All the staff we very friendly and helpful from Management to housekeeping. Rooms were great, plenty of space, really comfy beds (best pillows I have every had in a hotel). Food was good too. Plenty of choice at breakfast and in restaurant in the evening where you could choose from either carvery or A La Carte Menu. There is also a bar in the hotel where you can also eat too wher you can watch sports etc on tv. Facilities were really good, with woodland walks, swimming pool, sauna, jaccusi, gym, football pitch all included in the price. Extras included squash, spa, golf course, driving range, mini golf, quad bikes, segway, tennis. If you didn't want to stay in the hotel you could rent out a cabin instead. Next door to the hotel is a garden centre with a coffee shop. Directly opposite the hotel is Belton House which has a really good adventure play ground for children, cafe, gardens etc. Grantham itself is only 5 minutes away by car with shops, cafes, bars, theatre, cinema etc.
That we only stayed for 2 nights.
The staff were really helpful in the restaurant at breakfast. The reception staff were very welcoming.
The pool and the facilities where excellent, also the room and the bed was brilliant. The staff on reception where great as well.
Large rooms good breakfast loads of parking facilities
location, a little far from Newark
Staff were first class and nothing was too much of an effort, Food was excellent
Bed linen was past its best. Soundproofing in room was not good, especially with children next door
