Belvedere Hotel

Nothing. At first it was friendly, the lady was very polite. It seemed there was a mistake when booking as I wanted a room for two so I selected double bedroom. It was unclear to me that the room occupancy requirements were for 1 person only, as I was clearly looking at a double room and had selected in the booking.com search engine "1 room, 2 people". I do not expect that if I selected 2 people a room that's available for only one person will appear. So, the next morning me an my girlfriend went downstairs for our breakfast, and before we even seated the man who runs the hotel said "there should only be one of you"... This is not friendly customer service at all. He don't seem to care or even think that it was just a mistake. So after a conversation with booking.com i paid the 75pounds (instead of the 40pounds I was expecting to pay) and left very angry and my girlfriend upset. To say it spoilt our holiday would be wrong, because we went on and decided these fuck ups arent worth our time. Thank you for taking the time to read this Yours sincerely Martin Maros

location, food, friendly staff.

perfect location, as you see you can watch the beach all day any time if you like.

poor facility and bad food! The price is 75 pound for 2 person room , as this price level the hotel were poor for everything, nex day, im living in Brighton, nice price, luxury room, same location with this hotel, and 71 pound per night, much better than this hotel!!!!!

good location,2 rooms in the top floor are good with individual separate balcony.Breakfast is good .

Rooms and balcony wants to be more clean.Chairs in the balcony are dirty and cant usable, that needs to be replace.

Close to beach, clean and tidy, warm welcome. They upgraded my room to a sea view room because they were not busy that day, what a surprise. Also , their seafood dishes are all delisous with a valuable and affordable price even for students.

Nice sea view from room and balcony. Later breakfast at 0815 rather than the standardised 0700, which I have always regarded as too early.

Very formal, unpersonalised service from the male owner. Given the wrong room and the mistake was not rectified or compensated. Not enough towels for a double room, one large towel with two small. Tiny room, balcony is shared with two other rooms and absolutely no divides between the allocated spaces on the balcony, so if there were less favourable neighbours nothing is in place to deter them from wandering into an open balcony door, except ones own modesty/paranoia. Limited breakfast choice, no explanation of choices available, unless prompted.

so dirty bed sheets ,towels ,carpets ,etc lots of dust on the room. dirty tea cups, tv wasnt working so congusted bathroom not happy with customer service wont recomment anyone to go in this hotel no cleaning service on the room on daily basis

A wonderful location with sea view - great value for money - very friendly - hope to be there again !

The breakfasts were good, and the location very good, but I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone.

Very quirky a little Fawlty Towersish but friendly proprietors, nice breakfast, great sea view room, & good value....would go back any time.

Small, friendly , family run. Superb views. Excellent value for money. Will certainly use ut again.

I am very happy with the location of Belvedere hotel. It is situated in the best possible location in Sandown along the beach side. Room interiors are good, so are the hotel staff. We enjoyed the English breakfast.

But the exteriors of the hotel doesnt seems to be maintained well, looks rusty and old from outside.

Smerige kleine kamer, nog smeriger balkon met verrotte railing en meubelen, zeer onvriendelijke eigenaar/manager bij een veel te hoge prijs.

very tired and dated unbelievingly cramped showeroom full of mould around tiles. very poor old bedding and towels - uncomfortable bed -worst breakfast - whole place needs a massive overhaul -

We booked a sea view room, but they told us the sea view rooms were full when we arrived, and changed us to street view room without informing us before.

The owners and the staff are very friendly and welcoming.The food as always was excellent and huge portions so anyone with a big appetite will be very happy.The location could not be any better either.

Only one small point the decoration could do with freshening up.

Just off the beach

Balcony was open sharing with neighbouring rooms, rails rusted and unsafe. Unable to plug kettle in on table had to balance on a chair. No mirror in room, dirty skirtings and pipes. Dirty stains on chair .Curtains didn't reach the bottom of windows and 2 windows didn't have curtains . The whole place had a run down , dejected feel The staff were big very friendly.
