The only thing I was disappointed with was the distance from the hotel to the Royal Mile. The information said approximately a 10 min walk. I would like to see someone walk from the hotel to the royal mile in this time - it was more 20mins plus. This was the reason why I picked this hotel as it was meant to be close to where I wanted to be.

Nice linen No sitting room; no feeling of welcome. Staff not too knowledgable of area. Place and decor is very dated. Thin walls, thin windows. If you close the windows at night, there is no fresh air. If you keep them open, you hear the double deckers. In the morning, you can smell the bacon from around 6:30am & the smell lingers in the room. Note the shared bathroom/ shower. It's 10 min bus journey to city centre. All in all, you might as well stay in a youth hostel in city centre.

Good location, friendly staff and nice breakfast. 3% surcharge for using a debit card to pay for the room, also having to pay £5 for Wi-Fi when booking it states internet is free. room was rather cosy than deluxe

The staff did whatever they could to help. Lovely breakfast. The executive bedroom was not really executive. Yes it had a kingsize bed but it had a tiny television, small shower, no light in the seating area and a poor wardrobe. However, they did move us and gave us a brand new freeview television.

Chef in ferie.
