The staff were all very friendly and approachable. The setting in the heart of the highlands is unbeatable. The breakfast was excellent. Large rooms. Very quiet. The bar prices and wine list seemed a little expensive,

There's nothing in the Village except three hotels, very expensive bar prices and meals. Lovely location and the the staff are excellant. The bar and meal prices are over the top, we complained but, were told we were in a top hotel and this is reflected in the prices.

The location was lovely, hotel lovely to look at, but the room was up to much, very basic and in need of a face lift. But I did only pay £55. did not eat in the hotel as the menu was limited and not to my taste.

The hotel room was very clean, had all the facilities you could want for a short stay. Reception was very welcoming and efficient. In a beautiful location and surrounding area lovely. Hotel bar and waiting staff not very friendly or helpful. Arriving towards the end of dinner service we were met with a shrug from the bar staff when enquiring if we were to late for dinner and the waiting staff ignored us in the dining room as we went to enquire. The website stated a bar menu was available but this was not the case. The room was small you could not spend a long holiday at the Ben Wyvis.

Views from front of hotel. The friendliness and helpfulness of staff. 3rd floor stairs were not as well cared for as the rest of the hotel.

nice solid traditional Scottish hotel. Quiet, rooms warm and beds good. Breakfast was ver good for a self-service breakfast though grapefruit segments rather bargain basement We stayed passing through from far north of Scotland. Strathpeffer does not seem to be a very good place to spend much time in. Hotel though is fine, if rather quiet.

The grounds There was a problem with the water in my bathroom. Also, I think you could do with better signage -- especially to direct residents on the 3rd floor.

Very little! The hotel is obviously just surviving on bus tours and little else. The room was poorly decorated and the bathroom was no more than adequate. There was no hot water throughout the hotel in the morning .due.to a very high demand on a very old system

Room was very comfortable, warm and hotel lounge very comfortable and relaxing - breakfast good We went for dinner at 7.45pm to be told that the kitchen stops taking orders at 7.30pm. The waiter suggested going down to the village shop to buy snacks!.. We thought this was unacceptable for a large hotel catering for tourists - the receptionist had not told us before hand that we needed to be in the restaurant so early. Many guests had arrived too late for the hotels restaurant and some had indeed gone to the local shop and came back asking for cutlery to eat their fruit or whatever. This spoiled an otherwise comfortable stay and we felt gave a very poor impression of scottish hospitality to guests who had chosen to stay in this hotel

Spacious rooms with views and proximity to the mountains Inability to get things right first time: I booked a twin but found (after considerable searching on the 3rd floor) that I had been assigned a double (with my sister!); no water from the cold tap on first evening; shower never worked; strange smell from the room. Carpets.

The exterior was beautiful and the town of Strathpeffer is a quaint town near to Inverness. The night porter was extremely helpful, thoughtful and welcoming. Checked in later in the evening - the hotel misplaced our booking. The manager attended to us and we didn't receive a warm welcome at all. We were led to believe the hotel was full and were out of luck.... until she found the booking. Our room was decent - clean & updated but our friends had a room in appalling condition. Not clean, totally run down, no phone, spiders everywhere, no shower etc.

The outside looked nice, The staff were rubbish, room wasn't made up when we arrived, The bar didn't open till 5pm and when we were there it was really warm and we couldn't get a cold drink, you only had a 2hr gap to have dinner and it was full most nights with bus tours, breakfast didn't start till 7.30am so most days i went to work with no breakfast, there were glasses left on the outside tables for the 3 days we were there. This is the second time we were there the first time we left early after booking a week, i wish we hadn't gone back.

The Ben Wyvis is a splendid hotel, luxious and comfortable. The hotel is set in a beautiful location in Strafpeffer. Not too far from Inverness, ideal for the start of our tour of the Highlands. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a lift in the hotel, which is a relief when you have luggage. The dining room was very impressive, and the included breakfast was great. Our compliments to the chef! It was the best hotel breakfast we've had.
