Ben Wyvis Hotel  

Nice hotel in a historic building with stained glass. Parking on site. We had a nice corner room with several windows, quite spacious and comfortable, with great view onto the hills. Breakfast is served in a huge dining room with high ceilings, good food, nice atmosphere and a very affordable price!

The staff, both front of house and waiting, were very friendly and helpful. The hotel and its setting were fabulous.

I felt the carpets, especially in the dining room, had not been hoovered. Our crusty bread-crumbs from Thursday evening were still there on Saturday morning.

Food and service excellent, staff very welcoming and polite. Size of room good and clean although lacks some tender care.

Old fashioned, dowdy, in need of a complete makeover. Very average food, very dated in presentation and content. Dinner well overpriced. Coaches start engines running right alongside the hotel at 7.00 am every morning and stay there for 30 to 45 minutes disturbuing the peace. The night after leaving we stayed at a Premier Inn (alongside a mortorway near Glasgow), it cost far less and the food (dinner and breakfast) was much better. Clearly the two are not directly comparable but if Ben Wyvis could just offer the food quality of a Premier Inn it would be a better place, it says a lot when a budget hotel that is part of a large chain offers better food (and better service in its restaurant) than a hotel with pretensions to quality.

The stay at this hotel was a complete surprise. The accomodation was elegant, spacious and well located. The dining room was top notch with excellent meals at breakfast and dinner. Bar services were also convenient and well located. The hotel had been beautifully restored during the last 3 years. The in-house cinema was a bonus. Centrally located with easy access to the town and to motorways to travel around Scotland. The appearance of the local Strathpeffer band featuring bagpipe playing and dancing on saturday night was memorable. Overall, an extremely pleasant interlude

Hotellet kändes uråldrigt , med slitna interiörer. Litet rum med dålig städning. Underlig lukt i hela hotellet.

I liked the place and the garden

I did not like the price I paid as I don't think it was worth it (105£ for 2 people). The room was quite small and the bathroom not so clean, a bit old and used. We were meant to have a room with view and expecting a big window, well we had a view if we were looking through the tiny window. The hotel itself looked a little old and as needing refurbishement.

Friendly staff and the room was clean.

The room was cold and we were not able to adjust the radiator. A lot of riggers staying here. ok if you dont mind a lot of dirty workmen in the foyer at shift change. The room was fine but the hotel is a bit tired looking but the price reflects this.
