The bungalow was ideal for our group of adult travellers as we could come and go as we pleased. Hotel is centrally located near the town with easy access to the peak district and other attractions.
Location, you can walk into the centre of Ashbourne Good breakfast
Bed a bit saggy & squeeky NO WIFI in our room on 2nd floor, which meant we had to sit in the public room when using Face time. Time to upgrade their Wifi!
The welcoming and Greeting was absolutely Brilliant
There's nothing i didn't like to be honest
Manager very welcoming and friendly. All furniture has been carefully selected in early 19th century fashion and gives it a character not seen in modern hotels.Breakfast excellent and the hotel is close to town and the Tissington Trail.
breakfast Bed very comfy
Good facilities, and spotlessly clean. Literally a stones throw from excellent Sainsbury store.
For a self catering stay a little expensive. Have experienced the same standards for less money.
The rooms were good size and light and airy and the children loved the cuddly toys. The only staff member we say was most helpful and kind and the hotel itself looked different and appealing. We were in an attached apartment behind the hotel.
There was no breakfast included and the evening meal was a set dinner at around £20 pp and was not suitable for the children so we had to go to Sainsbury's to buy and do our own.
Very spacious and easy walking distance to the center of town.
WIFI was a blank if not in the front bedroom but every where else in hotel or grounds ok
Very clean Comfortable Lovely shower
Parking was a bit tight
Shower was good, when it heated up
Noisy - church bells, scratching sounds coming from the walls, next door's snoring very prominent, extractor fan very loud and took ages to switch off. Owner failed to advise us that all major restaurants closed on a Sunday evening, therefore we had no dinner!
Great bungalow, nice size rooms, lovley bathroom. Kitchen was well equipped
Dave, the accommodation and the breakfast.
The hotel was unique in terms of its character, period style and furnishings. The rooms were well kitted out and the touch of a dressing gown and hair dryer in the room were nice to see. The breakfasts were well cooked and presented.
There was a lot of clutter around the place which I found a little disturbing. The bathroom was a little bit shabby and in need of decoration and the bedroom had rather too much furniture in considering the size of the room.
Has All the facilties that a family would need for self catering accomodation. Sainsbury's next door too. Very clean confortable bungalow helped us enjoy our holiday.
Had a lovely stay. Young lady receptionist was delightful and very welcoming. Breakfast and service were spot on. Loved the decor throughout the hotel. It was exceptionally clean. Just a minor problem waiting for the water to get hot in upstairs room. Would definitely go there again. Was not disappointed at all.
Minor problem with bath water heating up slowly.
Nicely situated staff very friendly and helpfull breakfast good choice and very prompt service the bedding was very clean and well presented. The four poster rooms looked wonderfull but double the price of our standard room.
Bathroom bit dated bad stains on the cushion floor crack in the base of toilet although it was clean and the towels were emaculate
The staff were first class, - on arrival we were made to feel very welcome, and items that were missing from our room when we arrived, were replaced immediately, without question. - Our room was exceptionally clean, and the bed very comfortable. - The meals, for us, were perfect, especially the breakfast, and the complementary bottle of wine with our first evening meal was a lovely touch. - The Hotel is full of character, and I would certainly go there again.
Our room was getting a little bit 'tired', and there one or two repairs the could have been beneficial, - ie, the mirror on the dressing table could have done with a swing bracket repair, as one was missing, and the wardrobe which was a cupboard, - although sufficient to hang clothing, had a clothing rail that was way beyond the reach of my wife, who is only 5 foot tall. (A buffet would have been handy!) Thank goodness I am a little taller, and was able to assist when needed!
Excellent food and service
Hotel was very grand and had much more character than your standard 'Premier Inn' fair. It was very clean and comfortable and staff very friendly. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice gesture too.
The beautiful, spacious room with four poster bed. The elegant bathroom with roll-top bath. The complimentary and delicious ice-cold rose wine (substituted on request for the red wine provided, with no quibble). The excellent breakfast, including a full vegetarian option. The manageress was very friendly and informative. We would happily stay here again.
I have nothing negative to say about this hotel.
The room was lovely
Hospitality of the owners...breakfasts, and parking..all very good..
A very friendly and professional team. Very relaxing lounges and very good breakfast range.
The large four poster bed, generous room size , helpful staff , good breakfast , wine in the room , good location to Ashbourne and cleanliness of the whole hotel . It was a quaint hotel that the chain hotels don't have !
