Four poster room was pleasant with a spacious bathroom, clean and comfortable and warm on a cold weekend. The cooked breakfast was very good and efficiently delivered even though the dining room was very busy. The public rooms are very comfortable and David the proprietor is friendly, helpful and welcoming. The bottle of red on arrival also a nice touch.
Mish mash of dodgy modern furniture in the room alongside the lovely old dresser and grand style 4 poster. Breakfast buffet could have been more imaginative for the price. The beer at the bar was apparently poor according to my partner and the bar generally not so well stocked.
Very friendly and an excellent dinner. Great location with parking and an easy stroll into the town.
The bugalow facilities were lovely
Very comfortable room nice dining room excellent breakfast. Dave the owner was very helpful
Only negative thing was the shower was not very powerful but plenty of hot water
Friendly and welcoming. Spacious and comfy room
near to town and local sights.warm and cosy.warm welcome.
Super friendly staff . Nickie certainly knows how to look after the customers .
Breakfast Nice bed linen and towels location Car park. Staff
Heating in room not sufficient furniture a bit dated Shower not efficient
Will definetely visit this hotel again
Great location for the centre of the town, good freshly cooked breakfast, I will ask for a child's one next time, the hotel has old fashion charm and a helpful friendly manager, secure car park locked at night, :-)
Very warm welcome, great food in hotel restaurant, big comfy bed!
Room was the biggest and homeliness I ever stayed in, very nice hotel and lovely staff.
The room and ensuite were a good size and very comfortable. The sitting areas had comfy couches and chairs for relaxing in. We were the only people for dinner, yet they still lit the fire for us. The dinner was nice, but I enjoyed the breakfast more with lovely fresh scrambled eggs.
Nothing, it delivers what it says.

Weak shower, Chef on holiday
the facilities and spaciousness of the accommodation exceeded our expectations. there was a good variety of shops locally for provisions - essential when travelling with young children
We were given a warm welcome by the hotel proprietor, who kindly helped carry my bag up to our room on the second floor. After completing our cycle ride on the Tissington Trail, he kindly stowed our bikes securely whilst we settled into our room. The room was beautifully appointed with very comfortable four poster bed, and spacious bathroom with shower and roll top bath. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and a fire was lit specially for us, although we were the only guests in the dining room at the time. There was a good choice of cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit for breakfast, as well as a full menu of cooked items to choose from and toast. The hotel is situated very conveniently for the Tissington Trail, which begins literally just across the road. We stayed only one night, but would have happily stayed longer given the opportunity. The perfect retreat after a day out in the glorious Derbyshire countryside.
Not an amazing view from the window, (Sainsbury's car park), but we did ask for a quiet room, and it was indeed very peaceful - had an excellent night's sleep.
Location, perfect family accommodation - mini little house. Used as base for Alton Towers

Facilities of bungalow Next to supermarket Friendly staff
Wifi does not work in bungalows at all
Very nice hotel and great staff good food and amazing room
I liked all they had to give
We were complimentary upgraded on arrival. The room was a lot bigger than what you would get in a Travelodge or Premier Inn. The tv in the bedroom was also huge. It was a really enjoyable stay with friendly and polite staff.
Rooms with plenty space and related facilities. Although we only stayed for 3 nights, when there were fewer other residents, we were cared for very well
We liked the individuality and style of the hotel. The food was good. We selected from bar and restaurant menus and enjoyed both. Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff very welcoming and friendly.
There was nothing we did not like.
The hotel was clean, comfortable and we were made to feel welcomed. The food in the restaurant was delicious I would definitely recommend eating there. This is a lovely hotel and is situated across the road from the tissington trail and a few minutes walk from Town
There are no lifts in this hotel and we were on the top floor which was a little tiering especially after a long walk. I would return again but would request a room on a lower floor
